I'm not sure...i don't want Berserk to get a rushed ending.

30 years would be fine to settle things.

I know he is japanese and has a fair chance to have a rather big lifespan, but he is 46 now, I don't know how he lives, how he eats, his physical exercices or his family history. Don't give me some statistics, I already know them, but I won't bet his lifespan based on an average. I don't know if you're kidding but I'm not really fine with 30 years to settle things. Not that I can do anything about that.

According to the latest issue of manga magazine Young Animal, Miura Kentarou is going to write a short manga named "Gigantomakhia", which will be serialized in the next 6 issues of Young Animal. The name is drawn from Greek mythology and is about an epic war between forces led by Zeus and nether forces led by giant Alcyoneus.

After that, he will restart the manga "Berserk" which has been in hiatus since end of 2012.

Not really many details, but I have a feeling that due to Berserk's longer-than-usual hiatus, that this new miniseries is already completed.

It's likely he's starting to work on it again next year, and three months after sounds plausible for the new chapters to be released, but it could take longer. Miura doesn't seem like a mangaka who is fast when it comes preparing his materials.

Well, the news said that Miura would "resume" serialization after those 6 chapters...
I assumed, it meant that he would start Berserk again.

But, you're right.
That doesn't mean that he won't take 3 months to write the chapter!

just caught up, i was reluctant to get into it due to the irregular serialization and god knows i've had enough with HxH, but i finally did and man was I in for a treat. that could very well be the best " thing " i've ever read !! amazing , epic, fantastic and awesome.

i know i may come to hate it but i can't wait for the new chapters. why aren't people making a bigger fuss over this wonderful manga ? i guess the buzz died since it's been going on for 20 years

Fans are kind of used to it. It's been going on longer than most.

to me it's the perfect manga

Miura is doing 6 chapters of new manga- "GIGANTOMAKHIA"
The six-chapter story is set in a world 100 million years in the future, and it will begin with a 44-page chapter with a color opening page. Young Animal adds that Miura's Berserk manga will resume after his new mini-series.
