Lol no I don't stalk him and I don't know if he has a personal twitter account or something....because I would stalk him if he had one.
But it's through some of the interviews, and his relationship with Chika Umino, another author published in the same magazine.
It's speculated (on sk.net) that there's something between them.It's just a rumor at this point...

If he had someone I could see why it would affect his vision of the world, and might get reflected in his work. He also said in an interview (again on sk.net) that he never really had a girlfriend and he spend all his time working on the manga.

It's too bad Griffith can't sacrifice the neo band of hawk, I want to see the look on their face's when their lord and saviour sacrifices them too apostles.

I wondered from what chapter it was when I saw this picture for the first time.

With this so kawaï style, Miura could have done a Shōjo manga. But I don't think it would suit him.

His style fits more fantasy themes, even if it's kawaii. It's like Gustave Dore's prints in a way(all those lines it's hard to believe they're hand made)

And I think Gō Nagai is the one who introduce Doré to Miura. Art in Nagai's Dante's Divine Comedy is a reproduction of Doré's draws. And when you know that Miura loves Nagai and his Devilman...

By the way, Doré's Death on the pale horse, seems to have been a great influence on Miura' Skull Knight. It's actually an etching by Pisan.

Oh yes, Devilman is one of the main inspirations for Berserk. Hope the ending won't be like that of Devilman...
Yeah I'm a huge fan of Doré and visually I think Miura is trying to recreate that effect, which is pretty insane.

Berserk Manga Has 27 Million Copies in Print in Japan, 8 Million Overseas

This year's 15th issue of Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine announced on Friday that Kentarou Miura's Berserk manga has 27 million copies in print in Japan and 8 million copies in print overseas. The announcement lists that the manga has been published in the U.S., Italy, Germany, Spain, France, Brazil, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Thailand.

Berserk - Should I read or not?

Hey people... I really need some help on wether to read this manga or not. My contacts tells me its never going to finish and that the writer is making the episodes really slowly. But thats not my problem with the series tbh. I accidently stumbled upon the last scenes of the anime on youtube a while back. I felt disgusted and sad when I figured out the story behind it..

I started reading the manga and im 20 episodes in where Gutts joins the hawks and is slowly starting to talk to caska. But I feel VERY discontent in continueing the story due to its discomforting event which im sure you all know by now which I mean..

I have since a kid been very sentimental when it came to characters, especially female characters... I get somewhat emotionally bonded with characters. My first character which I felt connected to was Aerith from Final Fantasy 7. And I still remember how I used to have nightmares and my stomach hurting from her death..

Im scared to read this manga due to knowing of caska's fate and the rape scene. But at the same time I think its ridiculous how ONE SCENE is persuading me to ignore this serie.. I -really- find gutts an interesting character and I want him to one day KILL griffith. But I really dont want to watch or read the scene where caska gets raped. And even worse they didnt think that was enough but made her pregnant with griffith and then died by giving birth? Or I might've misheard that.

I dont mind gruesome stories with characters being killed off.. I love attack on titan. I dont know how to point out my issues with the manga. Its not that its RAPE itself thats the problem.. I read gutts gettign raped when he was a child and I didnt care much of it... But I genuinely dont want to have anything to do with caska getting raped. Its a scene which just by imagining makes me lose interest in the series.




TL;DR : I like gutts and his character and want to read the manga but dont want -anything- to do with caska's rape and pregnancy with griffith. Can I skip it? Does the manga get alot better and gratify her death? I dont like unhappy endings.. I want to feel like someone is payed for what happened...

SHOULD I READ THE MANGA?

Berserk isn't for the faint of heart, for sure. Other than the rape, it's pretty gruesome(which was my initial problem with it) and there are other instances of rape,or close cases on the same character too. Honestly Caska's rape is one of the most horrible moments in the manga(if not THE most horrible), also the fact that the author spends a good amount of time portraying those events. It's very detailed, too detailed maybe. And no she doesn't get pregnant from Griffith but

She was already pregnant from Guts. Griffith's rape tainted her child and she ended up having it prematurely, but he became a demon because of the tainting.

So yes you will have a really hard time if you decide to read it, and the manga goes beyond that point in the anime. All that I can say is that it's worth reading it past that event, the story is definitely one of the most interesting around, so if you're willing to overlook that and get passed the consequences (don't wanna spoil too much here) then you will have a run for your money, since we get to see Guts face his demons and come to certain realizations(involving Caska). So it's your choice here.
The pace is slow, and the author is only starting to release material again after almost a year, but supposedly he might be back to a more regular schedule starting from last chapter.

SHOULD I READ THE MANGA?

Tbh, Berserk is brutal and gruesome. It's an amazing read if you can get past that but attempted rape is something that happens quite a bit. The Casca rape is also particularly heart breaking due to her character and numerous other things that would be considered. However your problem doesn't seem to be much about the rape or brutal nature but rather the empathy you would feel for the character that went through that. Not sure what to advice but it seems you might not be able to get that scene down. You could probably try it and stop if you feel like it's something you can't handle. You may also not want to try at all but you'd probably get the feeling that maybe you should have after all.
