I hope this is an OVA series, so it can be uncensored. It would be cool if it was like Hellsing Ultimate. I don't mind waiting awhile in between each episode if it is top quality, waiting for new Berserk chapters has made me a patient man.

Its news to say like miura the anime will go on a hiatus and will not be shown until 10 years later so it can get a ending to put in =P

I bet it's to announce the anime in march on late night tv or dvd. Considering its a adult anime it may not be on tv.

Yeah it looks like only the FIST part is going to be a movie. Then the "project" will continue later on. It's not ALL going to be a movie. So we still don't know what the whole thing is.

Hell yeah! a 1080p BD would be freakin' awesome! It doesn't matter what it is, there just is! Well, actually, it does matter, but who cares? It's Berserk!

And adapting the whole manga? Sign me up! I just hope it'll be an OVA series, so it won't catch up to the manga that fast and afford to sneak in some of the gore and nudity without having to censor it.

Best news of the year so far!! Maybe the movie may go straight to DVD/BLU anyway! If not then if its around july i can afford to go to japan and see it XD So a movie which would prob cover the golden age, i wonder if they will have at the start when guts fights the count and meets the god hand for the second time. That would look pretty dark n cool. Maybe this project that says to do the entire manga might push miura in finishing this manga or just stop going on breaks.

Don't be down, the NGE movies have shown that it's possible to combine great animation and a good storytelling. I'm definitely looking forward to the movies, even though it will take an eternity to see the whole manga animated. Still that gives Miura the time to finish his manga

As long as the movies aeren't like the normal crap/okay movies or kid/cartoon movies that only goes for 90 minutes. Have the movie go for 120 minutes like most blockbuster films

I think a well done movie can very well capture the good storytelling of Berserk, in best case even better than an anime seperated into many episodes could. But it's no guarantee of course, I really hope that they'll create a movie worthy of Berserk.

Screw 120 Minutes go for 180 in fact going for 360 minutes would work with Berserk. For them to do this right they have to do it like the recent LOTR movies, where the story continued from one to the next. I just hope they don't try and do something stupid like only have movies based on certain arcs. As long as the movies are true to the manga and show everything I am 100% for this. Hell even if they didn't seeing it animated at all is nice enough for me :P

Seeing LLamapie's comment got me thinking, why not make the movies 150 minutes! If they did that perhaps the first movie (if these are being released in theaters and aren't direct to DVD OVAs) might get consideration from Western movie critics and possibly get noticed. I know it's a long shot, but if Spirited Away can win an Academy Award (not knocking it, it's a good movie), then Berserk could at least get some minor acknowledgment.

In any case, I don't think going beyond 150 minutes would be necessary as it might simply be bleeding into the next movie. They can release as many movies as they want IMO so long as they don't rush anything.

No offense to ladies on here, but i think all femist groups in USA n aust will be bitching bout getting the berserk movie ban because it has rape/gore/gore/um epic violence/nudity and gore.

The time of the will depend on how it all goes. Personally i would like them to start the first 15-20 minutes doing volume 1-3 then it goes to the past of guts in the golden age and end when griffith betrays them.
