Hasn't come out on dvd/blu ray in Japan yet. I think Maybe end of this month or dec.

It sucks that Miura is taking so long... it's unlikely that we will get it all done in movie...

Well, it depends on whether the fansubbing groups are willing to pick it up or not. Normally it takes around 2-3 months before an Anime Movie is going to get subbed.

The fangroups need to wait until the Blu-Ray/DVD is released, which usually come out around half a year after the movie was released (not really different to western standards). Cam-rips have a pretty low quality and won't be watched by most people thus there's no big effort to share/upload/sub them. Don't even need to mention that it's highly illegal XD

3rd Berserk Film Slated for February 1

The third Berserk feature film, Berserk Golden Age Arc III: Descent (Berserk Ōgon Jidai-Hen III: Kōrin), will open in Japanese theaters on February 1, 2013. Tickets with bonus extras will go on sale on November 17. Character designer and chief animation director Naoyuki Onda drew illustrations of Guts, Griffith, Band of the Hawk, Casca, and Charlotte for four bonus A4-size clear file folders.

The trilogy's first film, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc - The Egg of the King opened in Japan this past February and premiered in the U.S. at Comic Con in July. The second film, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc II - The Doldrey War premiered in Japan in June. Viz Media holds the North American license for the film series and will the first film on DVD and Blu-ray on November 27.

But looks like they cut Wylad out That would have been a awesome fight its pretty much the first every major apostle Guts defeats. It would of been great to animate. Least they got Silat in it and Skull knight fighting Zodd.

I'm extremely late but I managed to watch the first movie finally. I have mixed feelings. The CGI was sometimes a bit too obvious but I won't deny the beauty of the anime overall. However, something very important has been put away in the movie : the build up of Guts's relationship with everyone and especially Griffith. There are powerful intimate events between him and Griffith in the Manga or the anime series which made us feel how important was the Band of The Hawk for Guts (and Casca), and made the eclipse event so impacting. Here, those moments are simply cut most of the time, so I felt it went too fast, there was no time to truly sympathise with the characters and feel attached to them until the end (which potentially can waste the final event). It feels like the movie just focused on the main events, discarding the building up between them.

I do understand that it's a movie's trilogy and not a serie, so they had to cut parts of the original story, but still, in the end of the day I haven't been very involved because of that and I don't really see how a newcomer should. I watched a (good) patchwork of action parts of the story (mostly), those moments, taken one by one, were enjoyable (and more than that sometimes), but the overall effect is not that great to be honest.

Other than that the trailer of the 3rd episode looks so so awesome.

Laws? Are these the ones that are up for a wide open public debate in Japan about gore, sex, violence and such in anime/manga? Berserk might suffer a lot, though I doubt they will be touching the manga. Television and cinema has always been open to censorship, somehow it is viewed as really direct.

It should be good though, it has the epic feel to it, though it might be missing a few parts.

Yup, from the trailer I can tell that it'll be quite satisfying even if they cut some parts away.
And about the laws, I noticed that some of the new anime titles have scenes forcibly edited out. Like Btooom! I have no solid facts about the laws but I noticed the difference between last quarter's anime and the new released titles.

Anyway, I'd watch berserk even if it was upside down in black and white!

Agreed. But even so, you can't expect the film to be as graphic. Just look at those pages to refresh your memory

True everybody is scared to see how much they show on tv but it they make it R18+ no problem but I think they do not because they want more of a audience because having something rated R would lure ppl or draw them away.

No I don't....but thats how I feel. I love re reads. Although I bought a dodgy vol 2 one of the 2 page falls out its like the rice to glue them together wasn't done right. I feel for that volume all the time XD
