It's always bothered me how there wasn't a thread for any of these magazines considering how big they are in Japan. Hopefully this thread encourages more discussion and helps bring in some attention to a bunch of great manga.

These are the main magazines, all of them are published by Shogakukan:

Big Comic is a semimonthly seinen manga magazine published since 28 February 1968. It was originally launched as a monthly magazine, but switched to twice monthly on the 10th and 25th beginning in April 1968.

Big Comic Original is a Japanese seinen manga magazine aimed at an older adult and mostly male audience. It is a sister magazine to Big Comic, the biggest difference being that it goes on sale twice a month in the weeks Big Comic doesn't. It launched in 1972.

Big Comic Spirits is a weekly Japanese seinen manga magazine aimed at adult males. It originally launched on October 14, 1980.

Big Comic Superior is a semimonthly seinen manga magazine published since July 1, 1987. Its target audience is somewhere between the audience for Big Comic Original and Big Comic Spirits.

Monthly Big Comic Spirits is a monthly Japanese seinen manga magazine aimed at males 20–25 years old. It originally launched on August 27, 2009. It is a companion magazine to the weekly Big Comic Spirits.

Any contributions are welcome. Let's do our best to make the manga from these magazines more well known.

Thanks for the new thread, I had been (or trying to follow) some mangas that are serialized in this magazine. Some of them include:

Ao Ashi by Yugo Kobayashi & Ueno Naohiko: A soccer sports manga about an aspiring soccer club who enrolled in a prestigious sports club. Read it if you're either finished reading your share of Giant Killing, Days or Be Blues.
Dance, Dance, Danseur by George Arakawa: A teenager found himself reliving his dreams of becoming a ballerina. Read it if you are too anxious on whether Welcome To The Ballroom will finally have another chapter and need another dancing manga to compose yourself
Asahinagu by Kozaki Ai: A high school girl entered a Naginata club as a fresh start. Read it if you want to see an original Japanese sport.
King's Viking by Fukami Makoro & Sadayasu: A genius hacker and an angel investor meets, intrigue ensues.

That's all the serializations that I could think of in a limited time right now, but I would really recommend them (or any Naoki Urasawa's works-Yarawa, Happy!, 20th Century Boy,) as a starting point

After looking through all of these publications, it seems as though I've only read things from Big Comic Spirits. Even still, it seems like Saotome Girl, Hitakakusu is the only one that's still being published. Slow Motion wo Mou Ichido was decent while it was running, even if there was some forced drama in the middle.

I have been a bit interested in the Blue Giant series since I played jazz myself and seeing how well each of the new volumes seems to sell. There are also a few pretty wild concepts scattered throughout these magazines. I came across a raw yesterday of a new series in Big Comic Superior by sheer chance called JK Kingdom Tokyo, and.... it seemed so far out there concept-wise lol. It doesn't seem like a lot of series from these magazines get translated into English

I myself only read Big Comic Spirits series as they're the ones I can find the easiest. Chi no Wadachi is one of the few (semi)monthly manga i read from this line.

16th edition of "Let's talk about Big" :Osamu Akimoto

could be nothing and just to congratulate for the 50th Anniversary,

although... Naoki Urasawa also made one and a few weeks later they announced a new series by him...

I think it was just a coincidence

Im a big fan of Big Comic Spirits as a lot of interesting titles are published there. My favourite Seinen magazine with Young Jump and Afternoon.

Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia
I really hope this series does well enough to last a while. At first, I wasn't sure how I felt about the premise, but the dynamic between the two main characters actually feels refreshingly natural.
