I thought raw-paradise might be under the Kodansha ban too, but they did scan Vagabond from the same magazine as Billy Bat, so maybe they'll get around to scanning BB 18 too.

Yeah, I also noticed that Vagabond is on raw-paradise. And there are also manga from weekly shonen magazine, which is published by Kodansha too.

19 seems to be the beginning of volume 3, since it has 4 color pages. So hopefully they release volume 2 soon, then chapter 18 should be in that.

Volume 2 comes out on November 20th, so have to wait until then for chapter 18 I guess. Unless someone in Japan wants to hunt down the old issue (I think #44) of Morning and scan chapter 18. Which would be awesome.

No, I was just joking. I don't think Billy Bat won't be released in the USA nor in Italy just because has Jesus in 2-3 chapters. That should be a problem with Saint Oniisan...
In Italy panini said yesterday that they're interested in Billy Bat, so it should start in late 2010 or 2011. And in Italy church always says its opinion about everything they don't like and could be related to religion.
So don't be afraid about you country!

Religious controversies here are always a bunch of hot air. Some rural school will ban something inoffensive, nobody else will notice. Happened in a backwoods part of my state with Dragonball recently. Manga isn't popular enough for those people to notice unless it is stocked in a public schools library. Billy Bat and St. Young Men won't be. Both will be released in the U.S. soon. Kodansha's licensing deal with Del Ray ends next year, they have already started directly releasing back catalog under the Kodansha U.S. imprint. Come 2011 when they start releasing new series they will put out Billy Bat. An Urasawa manga would be one of their cornerstone seinen releases.

Billy Bat is getting really good again. The scroll of Momochi wasn't my favorite arc. I miss Yamagata too much and Kan-chan reminds my Dr. Tenma for some weird reason. So the 2nd scroll that has been roaming was the evil. Even causing 9/11, wow, didn't think Urasawa would go there but if you already bring in Jesus you might as well go all the way. I wonder where the 'good' scroll is right now. The bat in that scroll seemed more on the good side, ex: making kan-chan fight for himself instead of helping him, like giving himself a confidence booster. While the other bat used his powers to create the destruction in the world.

Chapter 28 is jaw dropping, I can't wait to talk about it when the scan is released.

Chapter 28 is good, last page is GREAT!

Kan-chan reminds you Tenma probably because they have the same face. And the scroll's arc was imho quite good and interesting; maybe a bit too long, but still good. It has shown us a lot of interesting things, and now we can have a clearer idea about the bat. Sure this manga is gonna be at the same level of Monster and Niju Seiki Shonen.

I am still at chapter 24 with scans, because I used to ddl them from arienai site, but they now put them only on irc, which I don't know how to use (and on OM they are at 24). Can you help me to download them?
