That's...not what I was expecting. I remain impressed by Urasawa's ambition and imagination. A chapter like this with two well know and wildly different historical personalities could easily not have worked. That it does, and that "Einstein trying to dissuade Hitler from the inevitable" doesn't become a jumping the shark moment is all kinds of miraculous.

That it does, and that "Einstein trying to dissuade Hitler from the inevitable" doesn't become a jumping the shark moment is all kinds of miraculous.

In deep there are great risk in including that amount of known personalities in his story. And we won't know it's working until we have been told of the whole story; only then we could know what is the deal with the bat and the time control and other mysteries. With all the references to personalities and events from our civilization, I guess his main objective is to say something about it.

Wow, this is getting interesting, as Smith said, he hopes to seethe mystery resolved, but on the other hand things are moving fast and slow at the same time, we still are far form solving any big mysteries, just the characters meeting up each other for a climax of this 1981 arc, I think another batch of chapters will wrap this arc up.

Seriously though, we have been too much in the 20th century that perhaps we are forgetting that Urasawa might take us to previous ages like the scroll arc, or the arc with Jesus. So far the Kevin/Chuck Culkin timeline is his favorite.

I was going to say: "if I have to believe the bat appears in front of the caveman I could believe the bat was drawn in the moon before that date". But I'm not sure, because in the second case, he's using reference of historical events known to all of us... It seems more difficult to write a believable story about those events than about the caveman.

Indeed, but he did take us to feudal Japan and ancient Judea, the caveman has been poping up more than once I think, so far he might resolve the Hitler/Einstein thing while solving the Kevin/Chuck timeline, which seems to be drawing near. I wonder if 9/11 will be next since Jackie hinted at it, right?

Though the moon sign will not be solved anytime soon, since Urasawa wants to keep that to the end, that will be the endgame. I am out of ideas. XD Though since he has prolonged the moon sign along with the WHITE BAT, they seem key to the story now ...

The scans takes some time because the Mangaholics guys take some time to get good quality raws usable for Edited Mangas. And it took a while to get I think the first one or the second one... But the other ones came on time. Something along those lines. Still, it's a good number of days before the kinda crappy-scanned public raws come out.

Hm, so it says SERIES END?, I mean can it just be that this arc is coming to and end with these batch of chapters? I can not believe that Urasawa would lose this potential, I expect at least a 100 more chapters from this manga.

It says "To the series climax" so it kind of implies it's ending soon. It could still go on a while. I really doubt it's another 100 chapters though.

Could this mean the series as in serialization? Like it said before in current-8-chapter-run-end? Or seriously the end of the MANGA-series?

Going by the other works of Urasawa I doubt it will end in like 2 chapters, such a surprise ending and fast ending is not like him, it just does not "feel" like the series will bring closure to everything if it ends now.

There were a few hints that we might be exploring other timelines, though it could just be red herrings ...

ON chapters 106 till 108:

Interesting back story, Urasawa just likes to mix in communists with everything in this manga? I am waiting for him to draw Stalin next. I feel sad for Kurusu now, seriously a total villain turning into an innocent little boy who lost a father.

What a thriller! it's just like this that Urasawa can do such a thing a small circle of people in a tight situation, reminds me of the time Kevin was shot.
