The Cerberus theory was partially based on the 3 lined scar given to Shanks... But in the fishmen island flashback where WB saved the island, we saw BB using a 3 bladed weapon he wore on his wrist.
Even if he did have the cereberus DF, i'd doubt that'll allow him to have different DF abilites... The fact that Marco stated BB is different suggested its his body that makes him unique and not his ability himself...
Fox666's post is the closest thing i can think of now... he could have a congenital twin attached with him, a little like Sakon from Narutoverse... That'll limit his ability to 2 DFs but it still doesnt explain why he's hunting for multiple DFs... Probably knows a trick that allows him to do that.

Anyways, isn't he hunting for multiple devil fruits for his crew? The plan was for burguez to get ace's fruit after all. BB is trying his best to build his entire crew out of the strongest fruits he can find. BB is someone who is aware of the effect a devil fruit can have to the point where he wagered his dream on finding a specific fruit. It makes sense he would target any fruit which is deemed to be exceptional in some regard. It would also fit into how each yonko seems to be in an arms race. Kaido wanted a crew made out of zoan users, big mom wanted germa technology and giants (though those not for war)... and BB is making great efforts to collect particularly powerful devil fruits.

True... and that would limit it to 3. 3 makes a lot of sense for Blackbeard actually, his flag also shows 3 skulls backingthe congenital triplets theory...

The only thing this doesn't answer is why would the Level6 prisoners follow BB after this? Catalina Devon, Shiriyu etc? What do they have to gain by following BB? My guess is that he can offer them the same technique that allows him to inherit multiple DF abilities.

SO they crew already knew that's what he is going for.. and if BB can has the technique to others, it'd mean they can have multiple DF as well, allowing them to get truly strong. That'll also explain the hunger and choosing good DF abilities.

I interpreted that bit differently tbh. I don't think he offered them the ability to have multiple fruits, at least it never occurred to me. I took that to mean that simply they were going to follow blackbeard if he could take WB's fruit and power for himself. Otherwise they simply saw no point in following BB. Of course, your idea could be correct....

When Ace encountered Blackbeard, he said Blackbeard had lived "TWICE" as long as others. There were a lot of hints he was multiple people, even the Anime indicates this too, but it can be narrowed down to 2 people now which is why he has both Yami Yami no Mi and Gura Gura no Mi.

Well, all you need to be is half serious in this forum.... I think the 3 theme is quite common in One Piece, 3 types of DF, 3 weapons, Blackbeard's 3 congenital isn't too farfetched that way, specially since it fits the 3joint skulls in his flag..

Yes, it does explain two... but why 3 skulls in his flag? It could easily be 3 too.... Blackbeard can easily get 3 DFs, one of each type and be fine... He has a logia in form of Yami Yami no mi, a Paramecia in the form of Gura Gura no mi. So perhaps he can get a special zoan , if he doesn't have one already.

However in One Piece Green it says this panel contains the secret of how Blackbeard can consume two Devil Fruits.
