I had a theory a while ago that seems to have more credit with the latest reveal of Rocks being BB's father.

Given that Saturn said is "Lineage/Bloodline" is special, which is easy to just write off as it being Rocks. What if it goes back further than that?

Given that the "D" initial is in Blackbeard's name and he seems to stand as the opposite of the "D" of Luffy, Vegapunk saying that there was a difference in ideals and gets cut off mentioning something about "To those that carry the initial D, amongst you there is....", the whole bit of Emeth saying "Sorry Joyboy, I couldn't make you King" and Rocks and BB trying to take over the world.

I think that BBs bloodline comes from ancestral traitor that created division and sabotaged the D's mission of stopping Imu.

I think that when the war began, the traitor was onside with Joyboy and as they were fighting, the traitor took an opportunity to fuck Joyboy over and attempt to take the throne for themself, which obviously failed. Ever since, their bloodline has kept that mission and has been at odds at the next Joyboy.

This would explain a lot, the difference in ideals. The fact they both carry the initial "D", and also explain why Joyboy failed. Perhaps the "Traitor" managed to get Joyboy's crew to follow along with his plan and orchestrated them to carry out his plan unknowingly, this would explain why Emeth was sorry.

A bit of a longshot but seems to make sense in my head cannon.

When WB died he told BB he wasn't the one roger was expecting or something to that effect. Almost as if implying he wasn't a real "D". I am inclined to thinking Xebec would be something similar, an antithesis to the will of D and those who even unknowingly have inherited that flame.
