mmmm ADSL 24mb down 1.3mb up, costs me £24 around $40-50 or so - and unllimited which is good cos I download about 20-30gbs a week

Well fellow Malaysian, I thought you live in Aussie... They still have that crappy connection like in Malaysia huh???

I'm using the crappy Streamyx line... 1.0M to be precise.... But somehow the line keeps on unstable... Sometimes it's fast like lightning but then slowed down like a snail.... Heck 1.0M down and 384k up line you got 3.4kbps for torrent with over 400 people seeding... WTF is that?

Your ISP may cap bit torrent traffic during the peak hours, or put all the bit torrent traffic in a pool with a speed cap, which would explain the slow download speeds. My ISP does it too

using ADSL connection with 384/128 kbps connection. i'm paying Php 1000 (roughly translates to $20) per month. but with thjis connection, i can:

download torrent files
play Online Games without lagging
surf the net
do direct downloading
watch youtube

all at the same time without any problem whatsoever.

I have DSL... well, that's what it says on paper but really, it's half of what it's suppose to be. Since I live too far from the company source, my connection can only go 170(down)/80 (up) kbps and I pay around $50 for it =_= ...

I have DSL: Download speed up to 500 kbps (that's a little over 60 KBps), upload speed up to 512 kbps but I'm not allowed to use it all (upload speed) because I share it with other people. I pay for it about 15$ per month :-] So it isn't that bad.

Oh, and I almost forgot that this is only the speed of connection on my computer, in that 15$ is also included the connection on the second computer in the house, and it is about 256 kbps/download, and upload at the same rules as mine. So it isn't that bad.

And I can download any amount of data I want.

My subscription plan is a 512kpbs download and a 256kbps upload (supposedly). And the price recently went down for S$42 to S$30 per month. But I suspect the actual download speed is less than 300kbps and upload is less than 50kbps

But the government is providing free wireless surfing island-wide starting this year.. except I'm too lazy to actually go out to the public with my laptop just to use the internet >.>

Hello, actually i'm connected by wifi (i have dsl) here is the result (des this website is suggoiii ^^ )

Goes to 1471 kb/s when i choose other servers ...

i pay about 29,99 € ( ~39$ ) It does great when downloading from a website but is lame for bittorent (thanks for NAT...) or upload (actually it's a problem they have).
about 25 channels (don't remember)
Free phone (don't remember very well)


But i'm about to move to another ISP for the same price i'll have :

hd tv (not sure)
over 100 + channel
26 or 28 mbits down (don't remember)
free access to newsgroup (dll at ~400 mo/s on any movie or other stuff)
10 GO of spaceweb
Free phone
The "modem" got a storage disk of 80 GO.

i have a 1MB connection and i pay £16 english pounds with no limits. but there are cheaper once.
UK's internet is getting cheaper and faster each month, and i believe BT (British telecoms, most of the phone lines in england belong to them, but they sale the rights to use their lines to many other companies to boost competition) are introducing faster rates for all in a few months time. i think we will get a boost upto 8mb for the same price in a years time. or so they say in the papers.

well if you look closely they already have set their connection to 8 mb in the uk , bulldog broadband (used to use it) does it for 19.50, bt is also using it and even orange (should be them?..) there's a third one i don't remember...

mines around 5036 KBPS for download and upload is 1908 ^^ Dunno how much it costs, parents pay for it. i do know it's a bundle pack, with tv, internet and telephone all by the same company ^^

I hate all of you! I live in the boondocks so i'm stuck with sub par dial-up. Download speed 3 kbps on a good day.

But within the next few months they are putting DSL in my area

I have DSL and it's usually 512k/128k but at the moment I've been downloading too much and it's now throttled to 56k

my parents have DSL but i'm using wifi. its very unpredictable too. and most of the time very slow.

the torrents are lousy too but the ddl is great!
