Discussion communication devices

[tobirama]

had the humans had communication devices do you think things would of been any different.
i mean currently messengers are used and they sometimes get killed way before delivering the message. they use smoke screens as signs and cant really communicate anything unplanned or should something unexpected occur.
the ape titan shows us how easy it is to sneak in, turn people in titans and work around like a boss etc (and hes over 15M tall)

i mean they can make the 3D gear, some people can turn people into titans but not a single big ass corded phone, or even using animals (titans dont attack animals why not train owls/birds, dogs whatever to deliver letters should the whole squad die)

whyy

Good point, if Ilse or the people attacked by the ape would have had a messenger bird or something things wouldn't have went so bad. But who knows, maybe in the future we will see new devices or something.

If titans don't care about animals, how about they train dogs or other animals to attack instead.

↑No point, not strong enough I suspect. They need such a specific blade, which is reinforced by a cutting technique requiring power generated from all the parts in your body, in order to cut just deep enough to kill the Titans, 3 to 15 metres above ground. Dogs can't fly, and birds have neither hips nor arms :P Sorry for answering seriously to a joke comment haha.

In regards to the thread topic, I think it's simply a case of being not advanced enough in technology. There's also possible inefficient expenditure of limited resources (hence development/ideas are hindered,) or conspiracies such as "the govt is secretly directing people away from inventing those techs," lol.

I think whatever technology is partly banned by the Govt as the knowledge about the outside world.

Serum is simply fictional, no technology there and probably it exist since before the titan plague, I meant IT'S the first cause of the titan plague.

About 3D gear: this is a steampunk like uchronia, then we have 3D gear but nothing more than air/gas/steam/steel/wood related objects.
