Feedback Complaint about spoilers

Hi,

This forum is cool and all, but for those who do not want to read spoilers, it sux a lot.
People are posting about spoilers in the discussion thread all the time, and seriously, this is so not nice.

Can you put the spoiler threads on other sub-forum?
or the discussion, because as they are in the same group, people tend to click on the first not read thread and talk about the spoilers there.

Could you be a bit more specific about where you have complaints about spoilers? (I have seen you primarily in the Naruto forum; so, I am guessing that you are probably referring to that section.)

In large sections like Naruto, we have separate threads for spoilers where users are supposed to discuss them and not anywhere else. For those who do not follow this rule, we delete their posts and penalized them if this course of action continues. We feel that this course of action is currently sufficient.

If you experience spoilers outside the designated spoiler threads, please report the post and we will deal with it as soon as we can.

Maybe when the spoiler thread discussion thread is opened straight away a global should come into the discussion and prediction thread and make a warning, and if anyone breaks that they can get infracted

Well, there are already such warnings in the first post of the spoiler threads. It seems like it would be a bit of an over-kill to have the first two posts be from a moderator both stating the consequences of breaking the rules.

the problem is that most of people, tend to enter the first thread on Naruto section, thus, talking about Naruto there, you mods know that that place is the main thread(at least I think it is) and aways have all sort of subject, so they, most of times accidentaly, talk about spoilers there
the best thing you could do, in my opinion, is put the both spoiler discussion and pics on a subgroup or the predictions, so they wouldn't accidentally talk about spoilers where they shoudln't

I am not sure what you mean by "main thread." Are you talking about either the current chapter discussion thread or the hangout thread? Neither of those is the main thread (although I suppose that the best case for a "main thread" would be the hangout thread). Spoilers don't pop up all that often in those threads except when spoilers first come out when the spoiler threads aren't yet open. When that happens, users should report those posts and those will be handled by moderators.

The rules of the site are clear, and I honestly don't encounter that many spoilers appearing outside of the spoiler thread. When spoilers do occur, it is sufficient to report the post. It would be rather disorganized to have a section completely devoted to spoilers, especially when not a lot of series here tend to be that actively discussed. The only manga that would benefit from this would be the manga that are big enough to have their own sections already, making it rather wasteful of space.

If by "main thread" you mean the thread that last received a post to which a link is provided next to the main forum link, then it is just a random thread and certainly is in no way the main thread. Again users should report those posts.

main thread I mean firstly the discussion thread then the spoilers thread, which are the same to a certain extent
they are the main thread of naruto that i speak of

its normal when you enter naruto section, go for one of them and talk about something there, and spoilers, they don't need to talk a lot about them, one time they talk and they spoil it for the ones that doesn't read spoilers

I tried two weeks to come to this forum and both times someone spoiled it
and it doesn't matter if they talk one or thousand, just once and it is done

Ah, thank you for the clarification. The current chapter discussion thread is not meant to be viewed as the "main" thread of the section. I think that is an erroneous view held by some users, which often leads to off-topic discussion in such threads. The current chapter discussion is simply that, a thread focused on the events of the most recently released chapter. One shouldn't view it as a main thread where any talk related to the manga goes.

Spoilers are off-topic in that thread just as they would be in any other thread that isn't a spoiler-designated thread. Thus, we treat this matter as we would off-topic discussion in any other thread. Actually, we treat spoilers more harshly than we do other off-topic material.

There will always be people who don't follow the rules. Even if we were to create a new section solely for spoilers separate from the manga, there will probably be the same people who obliviously visit the manga section and discuss spoilers there. In fact, it would probably happen a bit more often, as new users would likely visit the manga section first, see that there is no mention of that juicy new spoiler of which they know, and decide to mention in the manga section. So, I don't think having a separate section for spoilers would change much anyway.
