Something interesting from the Kings and Queens seen at Levely, while there are 50 out of 170 member states present, the list of real world countries referenced is rather limited and many countries double or triple, like the US, UK, France, Russia, Germany,....

In other words, the Levely council, while looking like one of the better elements of the World Government, is also clearly referencing white supremacism and first world supremacism.

Many got named only in the Vivre Card Databooks, which makes this alot more clear, you can check it out in the Levely article on the wiki.

A bit far fetched, but here goes my theory for Uranus:

I've always been under the impression that a special devil fruit was in line to be an Ancient Weapon, because so far they're some of the most destructive powers we've seen in the manga. Ships/Armament proved to be capable of mass destruction in the buster call, and Pluton's the epitome of that. Sea kings have always been one of the most powerful forces in the manga, making routes completely interdicted, and Poseidon wields the power to control them. Devil fruits are one of the most powerful powers in existence, and Uranus will be the epitome of that. I posted a while back that I believed Blackbeard was Uranus, because of the power he wields, and why he waited for the darkness fruit all along, but in light of the most recent events, I think it's the Gomu Gomu fruit.

Now, here's the theory/how this all relates to what's happening:

The Gomu Gomu fruit is Wano's national hidden treasure, and the reason they decided to keep their borders closed ever since the Void Century, in order to protect it. It's awakening allows the user to not only increase his size to unbelievable proportions, but also his surroundings/other people/other beings, making them big enough to touch the sky (hence its figurative name). It hasn't been awakened in centuries, and that's why the world government started taking it less seriously, but still decided to take hold of it. It's secrecy is the reason they sent CP0 to get it (Who's Who). Marines have dealt with other powerful fruits, like the Ope Ope fruit, but Wano is off-limits for them, and CP are the ones who make deals in obscure places like that. Shanks, having heard at least a bit of the truth from Roger, decided that they needed to intercept it, so that whatever's going to end up happening in the present day, could actually happen.

That would mean Luffy is actually Uranus, but that's not the case. Uranus only happens, in the sense that it can only be weaponized, when two conditions are met: the awakened fruit, and a special Kozuki (the same way there's been several royal mermaids, but only Shirahoshi has the power to communicate with sea kings). The awakened fruit allows for giantification, and the special Kozuki bloodline individual that can intrinsically communicate with this new giants. That's the reason why it was imperative for Momonosuke to survive, and why he was sent 20 years into the future. The goal was for him to fulfill both conditions, but the fruit was stolen, and ended up in Luffy's hands, who by a twist of fate, shares the right ideals, and will end up fulfilling Joyboy's wish. Small easter egg was the fact that Momonosuke was introduced in Punk Hazard, where the whole theme was giantification.

Going by this crazy theory, Joyboy was actually a kozuki, and the last awakened fruit user, meaning he was Uranus, or the last Kozuki who awakened the devil fruit user was part of his crew. That's why Zuneisha was his nakama, and has this size. That's also why it was foreshadowed that this power could be related to it, when it appeared in the last panel of the chapter where this power was first mentioned. There are still remnants of this crew, hiding in the Florian Triangle, hiding from the government and waiting for the day all the pieces are in place. That's the reason why ships went missing even before Moria installed there. Zuneisha, for whatever crime it committed, was cast aside from this crew, and was sentenced to roam the seas, hiding one of the Road Poneglyphs, until the day he would be put to use by Uranus, who ended up being divided into two in the present day.

The recent events in the series kinda reignited my enthusiasm towards theories, and I've got to say this thread is filled with some very interesting stuff. Such a shame that a lot of it is buried in nonsensical spam. I couldn't get past a couple of pages backwards because of it.

@McNuss I commend you for some of the stuff you've put out there. A lot of hours put into research, no doubt. I particularly liked the golden calf stuff, I had never thought of it or seen it mentioned, and seems very interesting. The Nefertari and the Sons of Levi seem like an interesting comparison to think about.
Also, that youtuber video really tied up a lot of stuff I had on the back of my mind but couldn't really articulate.

Not sure if it'd be against the rules, or convenient, but starting a new thread from scratch, where people could actually post their theories in light of the most recent events, would be pretty awesome. I bet a lot of people have changed their minds on stuff, or have more details to articulate their thoughts in a different way, but this thread is so hard to navigate right now..

Luffy awaken his devil fruit and his surroundings started to resonate with his heart. That's what Zuneisha listened. Those are the liberation drums: the world reacting to the charismatic figure, strong enough to liberate them so everyone is free to smile with him... that's why JoyBoy is back, because Luffy inherited his will. JoyBoy is also an honorific among the clan of D. [SFMBE]

Remember in Punk Hazard where the island was drastically affected by the fight between the two admirals. Laugh Tale was the scene of maybe the biggest fight so far of the gomu gomu no mi previously user(s) causing the island to be left with remenants from the battle until today, making people laugh hysterically when close by

Elaborating on a crackpot theory from a week or so ago:

Last week we saw that luffy's resurrection was hailed by zunisha as the drums of liberation and joyboy being back. Basically luffy is joyboy, presumably via his fruit's awakening which also seems to tie into sun god nuka due to luffy's new hair. Based on the sun god thing my crackpot theory is that Luffy/joyboy/sun god nika is actually an ancient weapon. In this case it would be Uranus, god of the sky. A bit of an awkward fit if you consider greek mythology but for OP purposes I would argue this fits.

For additional context, consider shirahoshi who is the current incarnation of the ancient weapon poseidon.

And now my new crackpot theory.... Pluto is not an ancient warship. Rather, pluto being an ancient weapon is a bit of a misconception due to history being lost. Though I have no doubt that the warship that was a major plot point exists, it is incredibly powerful and probably shouldn't be built. Going by luffy and shirahoshi I would argue it makes sense for all 3 ancient weapons to be living people. Sovereigns and masters of their domain. That said, the warship in question is probably connected to "Pluto" the man.

And another crackpot theory that requires a different crackpot theory to be true: Im wanted to eat the gum gum fruit. Here me out here.

Prerequisite crackpot theory: Im became immortal via the ope ope no mi.

As we know devil fruits reincarnate every now and then, presumably when their users die. I assume they do so as well if they get destroyed by random nonsense. If you specifically want this fruit to go fuck itself then this is very problematic as finding a single specific devil fruit when the search are is a whole ass planet is nothing short of a daunting task that relies entirely on very improbable odds. Even if an user is found once he is killed the fruit risks being lost. So what's the solution? An immortal eating the fruit of course.

I REVIEWED SOME OF MY BELIEFS AND EDITED SOME STUFF.

Well, assuming we're closing in on a potential Kaido flashback about Rocks pirates/God valley, I'm gonna predict some stuff regarding Rocks D. Xebec, to see if I'm right about the reference Oda used for him:

- A kidnapping of a woman/ woman in the center of the conflict in God Valley. (possibly Portgas D. Rouge)
- Xebecs will have some power related to having multiple heads. Perhaps Orochi's fruit, or something else with a similar tone. He'll also be somewhat related to Vegapunk. and will have a battlecry/roar that Kaido inherited. It's confusing because I'm not sure if some of the references have already been used on Kaido, and one mythological figure influenced two characters. Perhaps Xebecs was the previous user of the fruit Kaido now holds, but I'm inclined to think about multiple heads rather than one.

I'll go with something bold: Vegapunk was Xebec's brother.

Oh, also: I think Vegapunk will be a dwarf, and he'll have something related to either giraffes or weasels/mongoose. I mentioned the character that inspired Xebec and how it might've been divided into both Xebecs and Kaido, so the vegapunk association might've already been portrayed by Kaido and being experimented on and the copy of his fruit.

Since we'll probably know about the importance of Wano soon enough, here comes a prediction about it:

The Sun and Moon theme is pretty obvious. I'm not going to elaborate on that right now, but I think the Flower Capital will be revealed to be one of the capitals of an important part of the Ancient Kingdom. The flower motif gets me confused sometimes. A hard fought battle took place in order to protect it from being crushed by the monster who Onigashimas bones belong to, and that battle was what brought about the fall of that kingdom. The plot behind that battle is a topic for another time though. Obviously, another likely capital is Shandora. The waning/waxing crescent moon symbol that we've seen a couple of times, connected by a straight line, is very symbolic of this relationship between these two capitals. Curiously enough, the marine logo is pretty much a mountain separating those two capitals/crescents, and that does make a lot of sense thematically. This is what's bothering me: I'm not quite sure if the flower capital is actually the left eye of Jaya. I'm inclined to think so. I'll go with that, but I'm fairly sure there was a kingdom already before the inhabitants of the moon arrived, so that's making me wonder.. they might've not shared the same landmass.

The fact that Wano has several pieces with different weathers makes me believe it's a reconstruction of how it was in the past, so mostly connected to every branch of the lunar side of the story.

Aside from that, I think the reason Momo can't die and he's supposed to bring the dawn, is because he's supposed to be the equivalent of "Jupiter/Zeus", the king of gods. I think he's the one who's supposed to guide and command the weapons. That's why he can actually order Zuneisha (not that I think Zuneisha is an weapon in itself, but perhaps a "piece" of Pluton ), despite a couple of people having been able to hear it. I'm not sure what Luffy's supposed to be, considering he's the main character, but I think we're bound to have a revelation like that in a couple of chapters.

Also, I'm starting to believe Shanks might actually be blood related to Luffy. There's some inconsistencies with his age that make me believe he might be his actual half brother, or his uncle. There's something weird about this lineage.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

More loose thoughts:

I think there's foreshadowing that Neko, Momonosuke & Zoro might die. Maybe by the end of this arc, more likely in the Laugh Tale saga.
The thing here is that the symbolism isn't exclusive to Zoro, and I'd have a hard time believing Oda would do that to one of the original and most popular characters in the entire franchise, but it doesn't have to be definitive. Other possibilities instead of Zoro are Law (probably a lot more likely, since he's been called torao), Fujitora, maybe Shanks, or even Luffy himself (and being brought back?). Perhaps it's something else entirely, and the dragon who dies when they're close to Laugh Tale is not Momo, but rather Kaido. I'll leave this one here so that in case anything like that happens, so I can fall back on this comment and explain it properly. I'm not sure on what to interpret from the foreshadowing yet.

Lunarians are not another race of people who came from the moon. They're genetically enhanced/selected breed shandorians. This whole science and human modification thing roots back to ancient history, and the civilization that hailed from the moon was probably scientifically much more evolved than whoever ruled the earth. Lunarians pretty much seem like hybrids between the inhabitants of the moon/shandorians, and samurai. The fire and sturdiness are probably the result of genetic manipulation, or more races involved. My other guess is that they're just the offspring of the sun and moon gods of the past, and that's why they were considered a race of gods that lived on top of the grandline.

Chapters 1047 - 1049

- Main focus will be the final climax of Luffy and Kaido’s battle. Kaido gets injured severely and loses his Kanabo as well as control of Onigashima.

- Yamato encourages Momo to be brave and take control of the island to save everyone. Momo can also feel Hiyori’s presence and gets serious.

- Kaido has flashback of a conversation with Rocks’ captain about Joyboy and Raftel, before the battle at God Valley.

- Last chapter, Zunesha helps Momo save island as Luffy stands over a defeated Kaido. Kaido refuses to accept defeat and wishes for death instead.

- A sudden appearance happens as Blackbeard emerges and grants Kaido his wish.

END.

Here's another prediction, this time on Zuneisha:

It's gonna get the curse lifted by Momo by fending off whatever threat comes next, or by Vivi later on. The mist will dissipate and it will be rejuvenated by direct sun exposure, turning into a radiant elephant, probably white. I think Zuneisha will also have some ties to the original Vander Decken, or Davy Jones, if he ends up being introduced in the story (which I think it will, or at least we'll get to know about him, probably during the Pluton/Finding the One Piece segment).

Not sure if he has some humanoid form once rejuvenated, but I'd also admit that possibility.

So, Rayleigh told Robin that she should not haste to jump into conclusion and see the world back in Sabaody, right? Whatever the Roger Pirates saw about the Voide Century in Laugh Tale was only "one piece." Robin, with her experience and the journey with the Straw Hats, will arrive to a better, different conclusion that the "one piece" of story the Pirate King encountered. Once both tales, the incomplete one and the complete tales, are made known to the world, Robin's and The Straw Hats' conclusion will be called

"MASTER PIECE."

Have you actually looked them through? Most of the King's have been named since then.

There's multiple Americans, French, British, Germans, Russians...

Then you have Spain, Portugal, Italy,

Countries not clearly fitting this pattern are inspired by China (Kano) or Mexico (King Tacos) - fairly huge and powerful countries.

Oda has a vast amount of knowledge, yet the amount of countries referenced in Levely is abysmal and he also clearly did not even try for anything complex - these Kings are among its laziest character designs.

But yeah it starts with Uncle Sam yelling he is the chairman.

This is the crazy theories thread, so I can understand the logical leaps taken in many of the theories here and they aren't usually peddled as cannon prophecy.

That said, have you considered that perhaps it's possible that Oda is just having fun by using real-world people / objects / themes as his inspiration for his own fictional "Kings" and "Kingdoms", and that perhaps white supremacy is probably near the bottom of the list of things Oda wants to write about, or cares about?

Have done so for 20 years, didn't bring me any closer to any thruths.

This line of thinking, "yeah the artist just wants to have fun there is no deeper meaning" is a bad take on this form of art.

Is this depiction of Levely central to the story? No. Does it add something to a greater picture? Yes!

I know people have largely stopped liking my posts. That was expectable, it's Jaya Arc. But the alternative would have been leaving this board all together and that would have been worse, I really like this board and the people here. In a way, it's also pleasant to be misunderstood, because that pretty much means I can continue.

Once we are at Laugh Tale, these cryptic posts of mine as well as a vast abundance of other material I assembled will prove me in the right.

What you need to get rid of is trying to shoehorn some kind of mathematical logic into everything. Our brain does not need that. If you cannot grasp a meaning yet and also don't know how to grasp it, that mustn't mean there is none.

This is fictive, it is creative. Several ways of thinking that would render you a buffoon when applied to real life situations actually yield fantastic results when applied to something out of imagination.

Ever seen a movie and five to fifteen minutes in you already knew the entire plot? How does that work?

How did writing came to be? Could it be, that the comic is actually the older medium? Wasn't the Alphabet (or rather its predecessor, the Abjad) developed to save space? Could this imply that there are other dimensions lost in translation? You can read Japanese, right? Maybe that helps, the common defense of the writing system towards people from the west that want to learn it but are too lazy is that it opens up new dimensions...

I think you probably took offense on the word "white supremacy", for whatever reason (there are many possibilities and I don't want to jump to conclusions). Substract the word, take the feeling. The word pretty much only became international in recent years anyways, and is pretty American. But regardless of what term you use, the impression remains the same.

I'm not offended at the words "white supremacy." I just found it a weird conclusion to draw about how the Reverie was set up. Oda's primary audience is Japan, and they don't relate to the western woes of white supremacy so much (try having a conversation with an average Japanese person about it and you'd see what I mean). I could see him perhaps trying to draw a parallel between over colonialism, as Japan has certainly been affected by that to an extent (though they may be one of the few countries that have mostly drawn from its benefits exclusively). I also see the kings at the Reverie as subordinate to a larger power, so honestly, I don't see them in place as a huge oppressing force. They're pretty variable and while OP paints privileged folk in a pretty bad light, the general oppressor in the OP world seems to be the WG and Tenryuubito, which if anything would be the closest parallel to racial supremacy.

Also I am not saying there is no deeper meaning. I do believe that not every panel written has a deeper meaning. That would be way over-complicated, and convoluted. You'd have a lot of inconsistencies in the story. In a story like One Piece it's important that a large portion of it is good fun. I think it's more likely a writer sticks to a pattern (in OP it's corrupt government, IMO), and reinforce it in the form of Easter Eggs. Honestly the most symbolic thing in the Reverie had nothing to do with the Kings, for me, but the fact that a Tenryuubito was able to potentially enslave a Princess under the protection of CP0, and nobody could do anything about it other than another Tenryuubito. It shows me that each of those "Kings" that showed up was the drop of a hat away from becoming a Tenryuubito slave, if the Tenryuubito willed it. I also saw that Oda was showing us that even though he paints some "types" as evil, the Tenryuubito or Kurozumi clan, for instance, that it's more of them being a product of their old ways and that it is possible to break the chain. We saw that with Mjosgard, and I honestly think we're going to learn that Tama is the "last Kurozumi" after Orochi, and that she'll be made a Daimyo, and that Momo will break a cycle of hatred that affects their clan.

IMO the planning with Mjosgard was excellent. We had a guy who was so vile that even as he was washed up on the shore and the Fishman were planning to kill him, we, as readers, couldn't help but join them and encourage that. We then see Otohime, who had everything to lose, see to his safety by traveling with him despite how he treated her. We didn't get much back in the time when this flashback happened and it wouldn't have been surprising to see many readers thinking Otohime was an utter idiot. Instead, her whole sacrifice practically prevented an insane, potential world-war causing event by turning Mjosgard into a "human" again, and having him prevent Charlos from enslaving Shirahoshi.

I think we'll still see Sanji wield a sword before the manga ends. Perhaps sooner than one might think.
