Garp's punch seems an overkill, but it does look like he's using CoC..... and wasn't it mentioned that they can target their CoC at will? If that's the case, maybe Garp's punch is actually not going to hurt his own people. ideally just pirates

I presume they won't hurt Koby

But it doesn't seem Koby is in the center of the plaza anymore

Is that tiny person behind the buildings Koby?

Crazy theory I've been thinking of, with no evidence or research what so ever: Blackbeard can swap in and out people's DF powers. For example, if Shiryuu no longer wants to be invisible man, BB can "suck" it out and he becomes a regular human again. He can then eat his next DF. The invisible powers are then transferred to a fruit BB has prepared and for someone else to consume.

Two little theories I've cooked up in my head cause why not.

Hawkeye did not actually hunt the Marines down. They just kept coming to him cause he had Yor.

The Road Poneglyph that Big mom had is actually from Beehive Island she just moved it after ROCKs fell.

You guys think the missing race is just elves? I mean we got everything else. Dragons, Giant's, Beastmen (Minks), Dwarfs, Oni, and Mermaids. But we have yet to see Elves the second poster child for fantasies behind Dragons. And if I'm being honest it would be kinda weird if we didn't get them or at least a mention of them after getting everything else.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Caribou is going to steal a copy of the Straw Hats copy's of the Road Poneglyphs soon and give them to "you know who".

Caribou is either working for Shanks or Blackbeard. Gonna be revealed soon or he could be aligned with Urouge.

Man, I want Urouge to appear now more than ever with everything that’s happening. Pretty sure he’s grown stronger, too.

Why would he need to kill DF users then to take their powers? It seems to me that if a DF is extracted it kills the DF user because it breaks apart the altered lineage factor in the process.

I'm going to make an update on a previous theory, and it pretty much comes down to this: the Straw Hats are in for some sort of tragedy.

I thought it'd be Wano, because it had some Sabaody elements to it, and we had a lot of potential threats still looming after Kaido/Big Mom went down, and that included the world government on its way, and Blackbeard being on the move. I thought those would be the equivalents of the Pacifista threat, and Blackbeard being Kizaru, but instead of light, it'd be the darkness fruit. I also thought Shanks would be the Rayleigh equivalent, and save them. I was completely baffled by the way it went down, but truth be told, we did have an admiral invasion, and Shanks was the one who repelled him. After Shanks mentioned how he thought Blackbeard would be in Wano, I thought about the grand scheme of things, and I think Oda will still go for that route, but Wano only borrowed a few Sabaody metaphors, and the rest are now in motion to happen during Egg-Head, an arc that borrows from both Water7/EL and Sabaody.

I think that the event that will shock the world could be Luffy taking down Kizaru, and that'd be a twist in itself from Sabaody, but I'm a lot more inclined to think that it will be the defeat of the Straw Hat Pirates, just like we had the defeat of the Kid and Heart Pirates.

We have the Seraphims, who're the new pacifistas, and at least two antagonists capable of controlling them: Saturn and York.
We have Kizaru on his way, and he has a huge fleet with him.
We have CP0 there.
We have the Blackbeard Pirates on their way.

This is not doable, Yonkou crew or not, so the main prediction is a "defeat", and they'll need saving by a 3rd party, and I'm guessing the revolutionaries, but the crew gets divided or something like that:

- Blackbeard Pirates capture Chopper, as I'm a believer that Teach wants his fruit. If Devon's there, I could also see some Seraphim shenanigans.
- Big sacrificial moment like the one we had in Thriller Bark, by either Zoro or Sanji.
- Robin could go many ways... she could also be taken by Blackbeard, because she's probably the best character to give us plot reveals, and she'd interact with Aokiji, but given that Blackbeard has Pudding, and there's CP0 there, I could also see her being used as the reason for Dragon to go on the offensive.
- I think Brook's story is suspicious, and he needs to be fleshed out, but I don't know how it'd fit in this chaotic scenario.

The last part is me going wild, but I honestly think the Straw Hats suffering defeat is plausible.

Edit: I think Blackbeard wanting Chopper's fruit is still an option, but I'm starting to think Sanji might take it.

I don’t think any yonkou will suffer defeat. Maybe some losses but that’s it. Too many kidnappings

Well, every Yonkou will suffer defeat, eventually.
In fact, once there's a Pirate King, there will be no more Yonkou, so I don't think it's some sort of untarnishable title.

I do agree that it sounds a bit crazy in terms of the kidnappings, but that's just an interpretation. I believe that they'll be temporarily separated so that some of them can tie the loose ends related to their backstories/characters they're connected with, and they'll reunite for the final battle, so this seems like the moment for that, even if some of my conjectures are wrong.

Morj made a prediction that I think will happen

According to him, Egghead is the first arc of the final saga of One Piece, and the final saga is a war against the WG, therefore the "Egghead Incident" is what will turn the world against the WG. Since Vegapunk mentioned connecting all minds in the world, he will succeed in spreading his knowledge about the Void Century.

Morj speculated this would happen when Punk Records was destroyed, and the knowledge would leak. I think that's a bit random, but there are other ways that could happen.

1 - One easy way is Vegapunk awakening his fruit. I think a near-death experience may be the key to awaken a fruit, and the death of Stella may do it.

2 - Once the Satellites die, Punk Records may synchronize Vegapunk memories with unintended targets.

Another thing to point out is how some very important individuals are in Egghead, and the islands close to Egghead: Wano (Yamato), Winner Island (Blackbeard and Law), Elbaf (Shanks), possibly Hachinosu (Garp) and Sphinks (Marco and Miss Buckin)

Shanks isn't the type of guy to have some like Caribou work for him. Since Caribou is willing to sell slaves.

I still say Caribou is talking about Crocodile until we get some more evidence about this " you know who".

Hmm, Caribou working for Blackbeard would actually work out pretty well at this point in time. Given that we already have, presumably, Lafitte and Caterina on the way to Egghead, that would be a pretty smooth way to get him a way off of Egghead while simultaneously getting the info about both Poseidon and Pluton into BB's hands.

This could potentially set up the pay off for Luffy's claiming both Fishman Island and Wano as under his protection as they would be under threat from Blackbeard's crew. In the case of the former, that would potentially lead to Shirly's vision of Luffy "destroying" Fishman Island. The only problem here is that the WG would be taking a backseat to BB's progress and I feel that the both of them should also be neck and neck with Luffy for the endgame. Then again, that could be where Kuzan comes in.

Looks like a stylistic choice that leans into Zoro's "Demon" motif. A little easter egg to build up to the "King of Hell" by making his insides look like an Oni/Demon.

So, Blackbeard has a true secret power that has been hidden

Blackbeard vs Ace

Ace started having the upper hand, and at some point he's on his knees, Blackbeard having completely overpowered him off-screen

Blackbeard Pirates vs Magellan

The Blackbeard Pirates are completely humiliated by Magellan, yet somehow he convinced Shiryu, who is allegedly equal to Magellan, to become his subordinate

Blackbeard Pirates vs Garp and Sengoku

The Blackbeard Pirates held their own against the top-tier Marines of the previous generation, and Sengoku is visibly injured by the end of the war

Blackbeard Pirates vs Heart Pirates

The Heart Pirates put up a good fight at the beginning, but they are crushed off-screen

In all cases, it seems Blackbeard showed his true power off-screen... the author is clearly hiding something, what's it?

Here's a crackpot theory: Xebecs had the Mero Mero fruit, and he was handsome af.
I'm not really invested in it, because I've always thought he'd have something a bit more grotesque/evil, but here are the reasons for this alternative:

Oda loves his metaphors and small hints, and after seeing Blackbeard say that he's been after Hancock's fruit for a while, it made me think on the whys.
I recently remembered a couple of things that could make this fun to think about:

When Luffy got hit by the Mero Mero beams, he mentioned the resemblance with Foxy's beams. Foxy was the character who first mentioned Beehive and the Davy Back Game, and we later found out that Rocks were associated with both. Something that's been making me curious is the reason for Roger and Garp to defend the Celestial Dragons, when the Government seem to have powerful weapons at their disposal. It'd be interesting if he managed to seduce an important figure into giving him whatever he was looking for in God's Valley. It could also be that more than seducing, an awakened form of the fruit could actually manipulate people, or something along those lines. Roger and Garp had to intervene in order to prevent that.

Also, Hancock's sisters reminded me of Orochi/Kaido, perhaps as metaphors. This was back during the first half, but one of them turned her hair into 8 snakes, similar to the Yamata no Orochi, and the other one became a burning snake, kinda like Kaido in his final attack. We know one of those fruits was given to Kaido during the God Valley incident, but Orochi's fruit was given to him by the old hag, who seemed to know quite a lot about Rocks. (she transformed into Shiki, and told Kaido to come to Wano). We don't know who Xebec's closest retainers were, but perhaps the previous users of those fruits.

I kinda like this manipulative/seductive, perhaps even promiscuous narrative. He tried to charm his way into being King of the World, but he also had the strength to make it happen. It could also make way for a lot of relevant half-siblings. The Devil is usually seductive.

- Shakky has been theorized about quite a lot, and a popular one is that she was part of Rocks. We don't know her full name, but I could see Hancock being Rocks/Shakkys grandchild. She's quite different from her sisters, and he has Conquerors Haki, while the other ones don't. It's also weird how Hancock was fed that fruit "for fun". The nobles could've had a twisted sense of humor.

- Robin would also be a fun one. She's the "Devil's child", and nothing's known about her father, but she has some unequivocal similarities with Hancock. It's true that a lot of female characters look the same, but the post-timeskip made them weirdly similar. They also have the whole backstory with the government, not wanting to be controlled by someone ever again, and initial bounties of 80m. Robin's mother could've been a means to an end, and that's how came to read Poneglyphs. Ohara were erased from history, just like Xebecs.

- Another one could be Dragon. Garp never stated that he was his father, just that he was Luffy's father, and that Garp was Luffy's grandfather. There's also the fact that Dragon seems quite different from Luffy/Garp. I'm inclined to think that Robin's in love with Dragon, given her reactions to the dragon paintings in Zou, and that'd be interesting, considering Hancock's in love with Luffy, but that'd make for some weird incestuous shit, so perhaps I'll ignore this one.

Lastly, for the mythology enthusiasts, and Oda does draw a lot of inspiration from mythology, there are a bunch of Stars/Planets that are part of the meta plot, and they're associated with gods. Pluton, Neptune, Uranus, Sun, Moon are unequivocal ones.
Venus is the planet usually associated with love, but it's also the planet associated with Lucifer/The Devil.
Honestly, after looking deeper into this, I like this theory more and more!
The one problem is that I think there are compelling arguments for Xebec being Imu, and the current King of the World, and that invalidates most of the possible routes I thought about.

It's early to tell, but I think there are also some hints that Xebecs didn't betray anyone, but rather he was the one betrayed, perhaps by the nobles, or even Roger/Whitebeard. He was so powerful that he got offered an important position, but the dynamics changed. I think a kidnapping was related to the God Valley incident, but I'm starting to think that someone from Rocks was kidnapped, and Xebec waged war. It's hard to make a coherent prediction without understanding who's who in previous depictions, so these are just some wild thoughts.

In any case, I'm all aboard the Straw Hats face a tragedy route, and while I think more than one of them will end up becoming enemies (probably temporarily, because shonen and stuff), here's the one I can picture a bit more clearly:

Sanji will become an enemy weapon.
Aside from all the potential foreshadowing in Wano, perhaps the biggest reason for that is the fact that Pudding is still alive, and she's a mentally unstable woman, with memory erasing powers and a latent third eye awakening, that has illusionary properties in most related myths. Sanji has been getting a few wins in the ladies department lately, and he did say that he loves all women, so Pudding's evil side might not take that very well. We also have MADS, with Judge and Caesar, and they're not relevant enough to be an independant plot point, so they'll probably join hands/have their stuff taken by Blackbeard.

Shanks is not his actual birth name. That was a name given to him by Roger.
When Shanks started his own crew, one of the things he wanted to do was find out his actual name and lineage and this is what lead him too what he has that can get him a meeting with the 5 elders.

I think Shanks can meet the elders just because he's a Tenryuubito

Donquixote Homing threw away the status of his family, and the other Tenryuubito refused Doflamingo when he returned to Mary Geoise

But Shanks was raised by pirates, and still retained his status

The Tenryuubito can do whatever they want, they murder, rape and take random citizens as slaves, being a pirate like Shanks is no big deal

That seems kind of like the obvious answer honestly. So I kind of hope that's not it or at least all of it him just secretly being a Tenryuubito.
Honestly I think I prefer Shanks being just a random guy over him being related to super special people.

Theroy: T-bone faked his own death. Cuz that's sickly old man and his family beating a vice admiral just seems a little far-fetched.
