It is not offtopic. Imo it is a way to measure whether this DC arc is something well-thought beforehand or just a plot feature created to extend the story. Although I cant see a reason for him wanting to extend the story with his workrate

I'd say he just came up with that for the sake of it.

No. The world tree sapling that Ging showed Gon were on was roughly 10 miles. The distance between our Earth and the moon is roughly 238,900 miles. Thats 23,890 more. If the difference in size between a world tree sapling and a full grown world tree is proportional to the difference in size of an average real tree sapling and a full grown tree, then there shouldn't be any worry of even the tallest world tree coming anywhere close to even the moon.

What do you mean? At any spot on the real world, a person will still experience a 24 hour day. Even if the "known world" was a small portion of a bigger world, they'd still experience a day as the same lebgth. They wouldn't need many suns or anything. Think of any place on Earth - Europe, Japan - before they knew that there was a much larger world outside of the world they knew (having much the same perspective then as the people living in the human world in HxH) they didn't experience a 24 hour day any differently.
