Have her editors considering pumping her full of morphine so that wrist pain isn't a problem?

Wait -- maybe that does explain the wacky plotlines... (whatever you say, the "First Womb" stuff from many chapters back was strange)

She'll do a chapter in her own time. But don't expect to finish this manga in 10 years.

I just wish she tabled everything and worked on something not requiring her wrist for a year. The break would allow her to do something totally different. I think she's also depressed (otherwise she would've let us know there'd be no chapter, or she would've probably worked herself into the ground getting a new chapter out). A break from her normal routine to do something else is a chance for her to see the joy she originally saw in writing DGM.

She also could hire an artist and do the story-writing.

Whatever it is, it's obvious that her current way of doing things isn't successful.

It depends on how Shueisha defines success. The tankoubons still sell in the 300-500k range. Though, after a while, when you're really only putting out a volume a year... But I see both sides to this and understand it.

I wish Jump would at least work out a schedule with Hoshino-sensei or release official information regarding her health... At first I made allowances given her move to SQ, her health, side projects, art book, novel, volume work, etc. but without official announcement/information starting to feel very offended as a fan. I mean, not only are her releases extremely irregular, but the quantity of pages she releases (when she actually releases) is usually minimal too. The quality is usually superb, yes, but without an official statement apologizing for/explaining the irregularities it's just... rude. Heck, if she's lost interest in the series or needs and extended hiatus, the least they can do is plan it out and release a statement. But no, almost every month we get teased whether or not we'll get a chapter at all, god knows how many pages regardless of the length of the break. And if Hoshino-sensei is truly this sick to have to take breaks every other month, Jump could at least back this up, otherwise i'm starting to think that this injury she had 3+ years ago is either bull and Jump is just too lazy to think of other excuses, or she's not even trying to treat this mysterious injury/illness.

While still waiting for a full 100% confirmation... *stares hungrily at 2ch* (In DGM's section, #81's "thank you" note doesn't really help the anxiety.)

Some of us could support Hoshino by watching Valvrave the Liberator, and imagine the two main guy characters replaced by Allen and Kanda? *ducks* (Of course, I'm kidding!!)

ANN reported that the fourth Valvrave commercial aired on Friday in Japan. The show will officially air in April (which would then coincide with Hoshino's return period should the 2ch rumor be true). That sure has gotta be a torment for many Japanese DGM fans... No liberation there looking at Hoshino's animated character designs. I'd bet some of them would want to send Sunrise death threats for commissioning Hoshino.

I'm looking more forward to the OP and ED songs. T.M., Nana, and angela all in one shot? I'll take 'em all!! (Not familiar with elisa so okay with her being 2nd season ED.) The last Sunrise anime I watched was Gundam 00. I'm kind of neutral/picky towards the Gundam series as they sometimes follow similar patterns of storytelling. I guess this is why I enjoyed Wing and 00. Not that crazy about the other ones. Sunrise, this Liberator project better be good since it has Hoshino's artwork!

Firstoff im not saying hoshinos health isnt important cause it really is.

However if she doesn't deliver at all, and so sporadically the publishers will lose their patience. Its not like they have to keep her under contract indefinitely just because she has a wrist issue. Working as a mangaka isn't charity. They might force her to wrap up fast and publish a last volume and end of DGM. Just because its no goal. But i could be wrong.

Ill say forhand i own all the volumes up till now and love the manga, tho i can understand if the publisher loses patience.

Not really counting on it. Generally i'm not a big fan of mecha anime but even looking at the trailer and the charcter art, this series already doesn't look like anything that promising. No disrespect to Hoshino, but the characters and robot designs even look mighty generic, which is a bit odd for her. To top it all off the animation looks sub-par and the CG looks awful to be honest. I'm not judging the quality of the show based on a trailer ofcoarce, but honestly even the trailer struck me as a bit lame. It didn't make me interested at all and I really don't view it as a show that is gearing towards any serious recognition for quality, which makes it sort of redundant in my eyes.

Not to be negative but, considering that we have still yet to hear anything of a chapter, I think its safe to no longer keep my hopes up. Personally I don't care how long the series lasts or even if i'll see the ending, I just want to enjoy it whilst I can and hope that it stays good or gets even better later on. But honestly these inconsistent releases are not enhancing my enjoyment of this series at all. Also, just being realistic for a second with a dense plot line like this the inconsistent release schedule proves to be a real downer.

Though in my mind it makes more sense for her to do smaller less straining projects for potentially larger spot payments, I have to admit that it would be nice to actually know the details of her health. This has reached a point where it is really worrying.

Oh Hoshino. I wouldn't have minded as much if it wasn't for that killer cliffhanger. And eventually she will have to pick up the pace. A volume a year is simply too slow. D.Gray-man probably needs another 20 volumes to finish, so that's another 20 years at the pace Hoshino's going.

It says there's no DGM in the current issue (and apologies for that) AND that it's unknown when there will be a new DGM chapter. (In other words, they don't know if DGM will appear in the next issue or the one after that etc.)

So in other words, it's a hiatus? But I'm guessing they didn't use that word since it isn't confirmed... I hate being stuck in limbo here. I would prefer to just know if there will be a hiatus or not so I can stop getting my hopes up for nothing, you know? Hoshino will do what she has to do in the end to get around or over whatever she's going through, but I wish that there was some sort of official announcement or confirmation.

I know, I should be careful what I wish for.

^_^ Quite understandable because you're not a big fan of mecha anime. Neither am I, however, I don't judge an anime by how the characters and designs look. I just judge it by a story. The story carries the most weight compared to the animation and everything else. The art may look generic, which is expected of most mecha anime (esp. from Sunrise), but it's what's inside the art that counts the most. I don't look for anything that's "pretty". So, like any unknown piece of information, I just simply view it without much input on it.

Since Hoshino worked on it, I'm gonna give it a shot. Since we don't know when she'll continue DGM (for at least, 2 months), it's better to do something than just sit there and be all mopey/complaining about a lack of DGM. Furthermore, I have other manga series that I'm following so DGM's just one of those that requires extra patience. (And one of these manga series happens to be bi-monthly. HEH.) I'm okay being one of the more positive patient people in this forum. All good things come to those who wait, so wait, I shall. I'd rather have a story than no story at all. If she needs this amount of time to finish up the character designs and a possible Miracle Jump one-shot, then, so be it. She'll be back for sure, like a hero who went on a grand epic adventure....

Capricorn, I recommend you build up a huge mega manga (and anime) reading list. That way, you won't be strained over Hoshino's irregular release structure. Time really goes by fast when you don't wait/worry for something. Let time fix itself. (Millennium Earl not included.)

The JumpSQ note is the closest we'll get to an official announcement of an unstated hiatus. The 2ch poster, Bumi-chan, said this issue and the next one. So, I'll trust his/her words for the most part. At least, until the anime (and MJ cover art) comes out. Then, we'll see.

Good I am very sad and frustrated indeed it wanted a chapter as Maybe I said Googlez_kun should just stop sign reading DGM and eats back eleven it's finished. Really, this is to pain I have thought it but it is that this one pinches is painfully incredible and I do not want to leave it am destroyed up to knowing an exact date of the publication of 219 trust that nothing happens and the manga continue..
