Hello again everyone! Finally back home from South Africa! (... I've actually been back for almost 1 month, but I've just been super busy IRL! )

I was saddened that there's been no chapter update for months, but I'm sure Hoshino is working hard The One-shot's art was amazing though! And recently Valvrave has helped me cope with DGM's hiatus a little! It has a touch of Code Geass and DGM's wackiness and complexity, and I keep seeing DGM-characters everywhere (I swear that the ghosts of Allen, Linalee, Road, Tyki and the third exorcists are in the show somewhere! xD)

But I do hope we'll see or hear something from DGM this month...

I'm actually really optimistic about a new chapter this time around. It's been six months, and Hoshino's side projects seem to be winding down for the time being.

The next chapter will probably only be 20 pages to finish up volume 24. But I'm guessing that Hoshino will throw us a huge bone to make up for the six month (or possibly more) hiatus. My guess is that the Earl's true identity will be revealed to Allen.

I hope we at least get a color page. Heck, after a four month hiatus we got a 50 page chapter. It's just unfortunate that she left Volume 24 slightly incomplete before her hiatus. Right now my first concern is for Volume 24 to be released in 2013. It'll just be sad if no DGM volumes are released this year!



Next year is DGM's 10th anniversary year so I imagine it will be a good year to be a DGM fan!

-Funny fact.
When DGM came back from one of its hiatus/breaks in 2009, it stole the cover from Bleach.
I would love it if it happens again.
Even if it happens in the next issue when another manga (Shin Prince of Tennis) that i like is supposed to get the cover.

Meanwhile, D.Gray-man volume 24 is set to be out next year on January by Amazon.co.jp. The strange thing is, it costs 924 yen.
I don't know much about buying stuff online so...

The dates aren't of Jump SQ, cause it comes out on the 4th of each month unless there is a holiday.
The mangas don't belong to Jump SQ
The cover was from Weekly Shonem Jump

Actually, isn't that article from 2009 when d gray man brought its 50 page chapter after hoshino's 6 month hiatus? I would never forget such a beautiful colour spread Currently I don't think we can say if d gray man is back this month.

The dates are from April. She went on hiatus again after a few chapters and in October 2009, the chapter 187 with 50 pages was released in Akamaru magazine.
I have to confirm if it was october issue or month though.

You must be right, i finally had the time to dig into the discussion threads and this is the point when the Edited Manga was out.
Note that the raws were out a few posts before that one, so it might be really 15th.
And then another small break and another chapter in November, the first one in Jump SQ.

According to 「ティムのしっぽ」 (a Japanese DGM fansite I've found to be fairly reliable for info) & Shueisha themselves, no chapter in the August edition of Jump SQ. :/

Next year is DGM's 10th anniversary year so I imagine it will be a good year to be a DGM fan!

If so, they may have a big 10th Anniversary spread (like that 50-pager) in the magazine to coincide with the volume release and relaunch the series. It will drive me insane as a fan to wait that long but from the Publishers' POV I can totally see that happening as it's great PR. Especially if they've found some way Hoshino can better manage her illness while still drawing the series (digital drawing?).

JSQ has only announced series with color pages in the next issue. But I don't see DGM will return next month (my brain always tells the opposite of what I hope).

It was according to Amazon.jp and nothing can be sure, but the price is goddamn high compare to others.

btw, Hoshino had made Allen push his Innocence to its limit for the first anniversary. I will take it as an coincidence, though, still I wonder what is her plan for 10th anniversary.

I don't really blame Hoshino for putting DGM on hiatus anymore. If this is indeed the moment where the Mana/Earl/Allen stuff comes to light, Hoshino really needs to get it right. Next chapter could possibly be one of the defining moments in the manga. As she said, she knew who the Earl was from the beginning. She's been building up to this for 9 years. The last time she went on a long hiatus she formally introduced us to the Noah family, gave us the beginning of Kanda's long-awaited backstory, and showed us the Earl's true form. This hiatus is longer, so the upcoming chapters will probably be even more important than the massive Chapter 187.

It raises the question of why Hoshino goes on hiatus in the first place. Why doesn't she just keep producing shoddily-made 20-page chapters? My guess is that she goes on hiatus before important events because she doesn't trust herself to do them justice in her current state.

Things should be better for her now that she draws electronically though. It's a lot less strain on her hand and back.
