Indeed. In this way, the interest in D. Gray-man will dwindle by that much and at the same time, it gives the animators leeway while waiting for sufficient number of chapters to be animated for a new season.

Now, the question is: What will they animate for the OAD? I'm hoping for the Zombie Arc.

I think Zombie arc will fit in OAD coz it doesn't really need much visual effect n storyline itself is pretty simple. Zombie arc is also adopted in drama ver and2010 anime calender, plus it wouldn't affect any future anime adoption, if any. If u consider OAD is a bonus, Zombie arc is a good choice lol

maybe the news will come true someday or be revealed with DGM debut in SQ

I'm thinking that there might be a new anime adaptation for the new series serialized in Jump SQ, while the remaining WSJ chapters will be released as OVA.

ANN has posted an interview with Toshiyuji Morkiawa (Tyki's seiyuu). I've posted the relevant parts that mentioned DGM:

Q: Are there any memorable moments in your long voice acting career?

A: Take D.Gray-man as an example: the recording sessions were very lively, for most characters were voiced by popular seiyū, which is not common in most other titles. Furthermore, we had a great time at work and in private; even after the recording of D.Gray-man was long finished, we still gather for dinners and drinks from time to time.

Q: Tyki Mikk in D.Gray-man has two personalities; was this character more difficult to voice? Which personality is more similar to yours?

A: I didn't take him as a complex character... basically, he was a easygoing, normal human at most times. His human/Noah dual personalities are actually quite common among each and every human being. If you ask which part of me is the most similar to Mikk... I'd say it's the voice (laugh).

I watched the show (Jump Bang) again and loved how when they introduced the series the anime's main theme kicks in with a bang! It has to be one of the best main themes in any anime.

By the way, in the last page someone posted some screen caps from the Jump Bang episode which featured a number of coloured Allen drawings from the manga, an evolution of sorts art-wise. Could someone please post the original two drawings?

If anyone is interested, ANN is having a contest in which 5 people will receive DGM Season 1 Part 1 DVD and other DGM goodies. The contest will end on Sept. 30th. Anyone can enter, but people who lived outside of USA or Canada must arrange for someone to deliver the prize to them.

I'd love to get an OVA for the flashback with Kanda and Alma.They will just have to get some good music and good animators and it would be perfect.That would probably be my favourite OVA ever.

an ova would be good for the time being! i want dgm characters in school ova! i would love to see that atmosphere...there has bee rumors that dgray is getting an ova...so lets hope it comes out in the fall when code geass is coming :P

A 3rd place!!! that has been one of the best news of the day!!! It has even sold more copies than Bleach, OMG.
I'd also like a new anime season, all those great moments we've seen in the manga will look greater in anime, specially those of Kanda and Alma, the appearance of Apocryphos and Allen's departure from the Order (a good soundtrack and Road' dissappearance and the goodbye to Lenalee would make me cry more than I read it in the manga itself).

i was checking wikia 2006 was the first year when dgm aired...its been 5 years already...most shows take 5years and then they become reanimated

I think it's about time for something animated soon too, yeah!

I've been wondering if the one-shot, the characterbook, the artbook and all the other new stuff is a "plan" to re-establish DGM's popularity (since it's risen high since the long hiatus)... and an anime or OVA would definitely top it Maybe they're secretly working on something to air in later 2011-2012? :3 Only time will tell, I guess.

I don't think there will be anime, in the near future, because we don't have enough chapters. And the story goes really slow, now it's monthly.
