I ask cause of 2 things: 1.) it was some wild back and forth I peeped on tumblr between some Lucy fans and some others regarding who is the hero or deserves majority of the credit which the argument got dirty as usual and 2.) Hiro said he couldn't make Natsu the hero of the story due to FT only fighting for themselves and instead of fighting to save the world from Volume 61's afterword, even if in our perspective he is:
So who really is the hero of the story, like canonically who is it? It's either Lucy or Meredy. For the case for Lucy:
So who really is the hero of the story, like canonically who is it? It's either Lucy or Meredy. For the case for Lucy:
- she was the one who came up with the plan
- gave everyone orders and guided them
- deciphered the book in a short time and was the one who cast it
- gathered all of the continent's wizards into one power source
- without her, Acnologia would of rampaged on them after breaking through the weak ass Fairy Sphere they created
- from an in-story perspective, nobody knew what the outcome was going to be with the dragon slayers, if they won or lost or what would happen to Acnologia's physical body. Yeah we knew what would happen but they didn't

These situations are comparable.
