There has been an interview with Mr. Honda,a Jump Editor who brought Inagaki Sensei and Boichi Sensei(The Authors of Dr. Stone) "together",he talks about how they came to create Dr. Stone and their driving motives behind writing the story. A bit of a suggestion (Was not quite sure where to post this, but I guess this thread will do). There's a user on Twitter called Caleb Cook who usually offers insight on the chapters when they come out. Like from today's chapter there's this tidbit:

Would heavily suggest to follow his content. Very educative material really. It's kind of like the Library of Ohara, but in this case I guess he would be referred to as the Laboratory of Senkuu, haha
