Konomi-sensei wanted an elder brother of Koshimae. Instead of creating a complete new character he adopted Ryoga from movie.

Well he mentioned that he's going to explore the world. So I take it, like Byodoin, he's played tennis in various different countries. From what I've seen, people think he's stronger than Byodoin. But he has yet to have an official match.

I believe Ryoga is the strongest player in WC, the reason why he is 4th in genius 10 is because he beat the current no. 4(kiritani) during genius 10's travel around the world

I doubt because Ryoga hasnt even been known in the world. Yes He beat the former 4. But that doesnt mean he can bea 1-3 easiily(Maybe duke).

1. Volk/Medanore Tier
2. Ralph/Amadeus Tier
3. Ryoga/Camus/Byodoin Tier

FOR NOW. It will change depends on the Ralph vs Ryoga Match. If Ryoga wins 6-0 or6-1 I will put him at volk/medanore tier.
If Ryoga wins a close match. He will be in tier 2. If Ryoga loses, the ranking remains.

The anime isn't very consistent, or reasonable when it comes to the gap between real adult pro's and U17. For example, in original PoT, in like that last episode, it shows Ryoma defeating the number one (adult) player of Australia, but then in the OVA he comes back and then barely wins against middle school'ers.

That's because the anime took way too many liberties. That doesn't happen in the manga at all.

Ryoga's Strength can be seen in his game against Ralph. It is not the case with Nanjiro.

It will take for Ryoma to go pro. Win tournaments, and win grandslam. Just for Ryoma can challenge Nanjiro in a real fight.

Nanjiro in his prime will easily beat medanore and volk combined. Nanjiro now may beat them in a close match.

Ryoga and Ryoma I think doesnt even have in the 1/10(Qp reference) of Nanjiro Strength.

He just wanted to get into Genius 10, so when he defeated #4 and got his badge, that was enough for him. He didn't want to take Byodoin's #1 spot. I think he could be #1 or #2.

Maybe Kiratini is really weak. i cannot believe Japan team just trash him. If Ryoga beat Tanegashima or Duke instead back then, they will still be in the lineup. Maybe Kiratini somehow is really weak and did not deserve that no.4 spot

Based on the manga panel, he may have been injured by Ryoga. Or he really quit from the team after that. I don't think Japan gives someone a ranking/number to those who don't deserve it.

But I think Volk pro career is just starting. He will be a pro champion now if he doesn't lose with supreme number of games. Same with Medanore. But Medanore was injured for a very long time, so I doubt he is undefeated while being injured. I dont know why people are assuming Ryoga as the strongest in the tournament just because of relationship with Ryoma. He is just 4th in Genius 10. If he is that strong he will be no. 1 or no.2. And I will bet that he will have a very tough time against Ralph. In fact, I am supporting Ralph against Ryoga cause atleast Ralph has a feat that has beaten a pro. Ryoga is all hype for now.

It is stated that Ryoga playstyle is a copy of Nanjiroh right? So I just assume he taught ryoga. Nanjiroh always played echizen but we know nanjiroh isn't even 1/4 serious. Well, just speculation. My no.1 and no.2 question are the one I am really curious about.

Agree with all your points. Ryoga can also do the Glowing Shot and hit 10 balls + 1 orange at a time. I honestly think he's the closest to Nanjiroh's level, as stated by Tezuka in the movie.

Also, he's like Byodoin but with more freedom. He has traveled the world as well and gained plenty of experience.

He's not known for joining tournaments maybe because he didn't join them. I don't know why though. He's a free spirit and they are usually vague with their reasons and motivations

I dont think returning that glowing shot is enough feat. Byo catches it with one hand.
So,Byo is strongest?Of course not. And even ryoma was able to copy it.

That is what I am hoping. Konomi will have a ploy twist and Ralph will beat Ryoga.

And they could have internal matches, that is how their numbers are assigned.If Ryoga is strong,his rank could go up. Maybe he do not want to play. But still, all are speculations.

Nothing in the story seems to be hinting that Ralph may defeat Ryoga. Imagine if that happens? Hype will go down. Yes, hype is mostly what Ryoga has right now but it's because we're leading up to something amazing. Why would Konomi hype up a character who will just get defeated during his first U-17 official match?

Regardless if the movie is a different universe or not, Ryoga still lived with them in that story. So he still learned from Nanjiroh.

Anyway. I just want Spain to win the finals. Japan can be 2nd ,3rd,or 4th. But Spain must be first.

Imagine Spain being hidden this long just for them to be lose in the finals.
