In fact, Mashima has named the main characters by the names of the seasons long ago:
Haru in Rave = Spring
Aki in Monster Soul = Autumn
Fuyu in one-shot Mixture = Winter
Natsu in FT = Summer

So basically rain is the pnly season left whatever the kanji name of rain is could be his name

I see a Jacob look alike, Sting look alike, and silver hair Jellal but besides that this series looks like a science fiction or science fantasy series. Also I think Mashima was testing characters designs from the last few arcs for his new series.

No that’s not a Laxus look alike that’s a Sting look alike and Eden’s Zero has no connection to Fairy Tail.

Honestly don't see the 'carbon copy' resembles with main heroine and Lucy in the color. She looks like her own distinct character tbh.

Only ones who looks exactly like a carbon copy is that Erza look alike and the Natsu one with Grays hair. Guess the Keith looking one too.

It seems y'all just complaining to complain at this point.

Maybe the reason Mashima purposely reused those character designs was because he knew about the backlash and reused the designs of the characters he wasted and/or fucked up with to fix them.

The designs are interesting.

To those who say it is an FT 2.0, do they even know what they are going to try to be doing affirmations? What a couple of people say in a forum does not imply that everyone disagrees, moreover, it seems that there is more approval for waiting for the new series, stop trying to impose their tastes over those of others and above all , stop wanting to force the plot to your tastes.

I believe that those who complain today, tomorrow, as is customary, will end up wanting more this work, because really, to judge something without knowing it, is clumsy, we know that Mashima creates different works to us although he keeps some basic aspects in them and always his new work starts similar to the previous one until it advances more.

I look forward to this new manga.

This is a public forum, and as such, users will share their honest opinions one would hope. Get used to it.

I agree the main character and Erza blatantly but the others not so much.

Hair style is different, her head shape is more rectangular, and she has a large cheshire smile. Evergreen was more sexy this girl looks and feels more of a book worm.

I'm a little disappointment as far as it comes for designs so far

I understand that because of someone style characters will look similar but it's just copy paste and it already shows the lack of creativity here..

Hiro has created many characters in FT even in the last arc so he capable of creating a new design if he wants to and a cool one at top of that..

Wonder how this copy will look like:

I won't mind it if at least now the story will be much more enjoyable and much more consistent.

Tbh I hope that we won't see much of reused ideas from his previous work like magic etc.

Also Exceeds race ( most likely ) be already copied into this isn't the best sign for me as well..

Yeah, I may sound pessimistic towards Hiro new work but how FT was progressing in the last arc made me that way..

The probability of new Ships and how they will be thrown at our faces..

I don't have high hopes tbh, I don't expect it to be well written story, I don't even hope for fanservis to be limited (I have an impression, that the longer Mashima writes, the more of it he puts in his works ), but I'm counting for ridiculous humour, pretty drawings and few shocking plot twists, that will make my jaw drop - that much I can get I think

I'm with you on that my girl and I said for you in our private convo that I will not pick it up until it will reach Volume 1/2 and hear your opinion on it..

That ridiculous humour I hope doesn't come with fanservice I have enjoyed the humour we were getting at the start of FT but later most of it was coming with fanservice << which made me skip particular panels with that characters.

But I guess that Hiro has such large fanbase that it doesn't really matter what he will write and about what as long as people will follow him...

I honestly hope he succeeds and creates work that will keep a decent level all time ( not just good 3/4 Volumes ) that people who pick it will enjoy it

That old man doesn’t look like Laxus if anything it looks like Gildarts or Silvers Rayleigh and Mashima draw that character before he draw that fan requested character and even didn’t want to name it so he asked the person who requested the drawing to name it themselves.

That’s not an aged up Laxus since he doesn’t have that scar Laxus always has and Eden’s Zero has no connection to Fairy Tail.
