I get that, but I'm talking about in comparison to Natsu, who had tons other main and major characters for childhood friends. From what you described, only one of the pictured characters in the promo art (the robot in the wizard hat) is a friend.

Personnal opinion, I don't like how Edens Zero fanarts tries to make out FT vibes, I know it's because of Mashima artstyle but the artists have their own too. I simply saw Fairy Tail in these fanarts, not even a bit sensation of OC art

I like the idea of crossovers with Mashima’s older series in Edens Zero since I did like the Rave Master x Fairy Tail crossover.

I have read his previous series and I still think that he is horrible at creating fantasy worlds, especially if we compare them with other popular mangas.
His previous work is a perfect example of that...

How exactly the world in that series is good?
Everything there feels like "my first JRPG", with maybe two or three genuine good moments where Mashima develop the world.

The most memorable thing about that was that it was a world without magic, is not particularly good either.

"Tons of good stuff" is clearly an exaggeration.
He is a guy that is, sometimes, good with the characters, however his worlds are lazy and boring.
