In case you're wondering - we decided to drop Edens Zero. FT was the series we first worked on, so we felt like we owed it a shot, but... Maybe next time he should try creating original characters, not verbatim copies. Just sayin'. Still, much love <3

I see the butthurt is real. Chill out, we worked on 384 chapters of FT and his spin-off series, we're not hating, just not feeling this one, AT ALL, despite having translated his series for a decade. You can still follow it on CR or read the scans by our buddies at jaimini's box.

Wow MS is straight trash now. The way they respond to backlash is childish, and their response to saying the manga is too similar to FT despite the setting and character's personality being vastly different is a very narrow minded and selective argument.

It seems like I'm going to drop MS for awhile maybe even indefinitely.

Exactly, they translate Boruto f-ing Boruto of all things which is a garbage version of Naruto, and they have the nerve to say crap like that?

Only people saying it's FT 2.0 are people who just look at the cover of the story. People should really know not judge a book by it's cover literally and metaphorically in this sense lol.

I believe they are serious as they didn't release this chapter, and they got very defensive on their stance of dropping it.

Its the mangas on Mangastream that get the most attention and hype in the manga and anime community so if Edens zero is not going to be on Mangastream it probably wont get even close as many readers and even close as much attention in the western manga and anime world as Fairy Tail got.

Edens Zero just freaking started so its way too early to call it a Fairy Tail copy.
Is this because of the Fairy Tail character cameos in the background of chapter 3?
Many people seems to have a huge problem with those and seems to think they are going to be actual characters in Edens Zero and are not only short fun easter eggs.

I lost alot of respect and love for Mangastream now.

FYI for anybody not aware Crunchyroll picked it up and they have Eden Zero as well. So that's another translation option. Not sure what the delay on release is on it as chapter 3 just came out today.

The problem for me is that Mangastream is the most popular and mostly used manga site and its the mangas on that site that get the most attention in the manga and anime community so if Edens Zero is not going to be on the site anymore it will lose plenty of its readers and lose plenty of attention.
There was lots of hype for the Fire Force manga when it was on Mangastream for example but after Mangastream dropped it few people seems to care about it anymore.

Not everything though. Ubel Blatt for example. I love Ubel Blatt but Mangastream started translating it and I think it's lack of popularity is generally unaffected.

I think it's totally fine for Mangastream to drop it if none of the people translating are into it. They don't even need to give a reason if they don't want to. They can't work on everything and there are lots of great and popular manga they aren't touching. Cruchyroll has it licensed and on simulpub anyway so it will be all over the place no matter what else happens.

I love Fairy Tail and i love Hiro Mashima and his style and way of doing things but one thing that annoys me about him is that atlest here in the west he always needs to do things that creates a huge bunch of annoying controversy, hate and complaining all the freaking time.
Like there was hundreds of times in Fairy Tail where something happened that people hated that created controversy and now with Edens Zero he created controversy and complaining by making the characters look so similar to the Fairy Tail characters.
I just wish Hiro Mashimas mangas could go on for a while without big controversial stuff like this happening and just do things that people are fine and happy with instead so there wont be any annoying and frustrating complaining, hate and negativity like there always is it feels like.
