MS already does lot of popular shows so may be they can't take the load.

Also checked it in FB groups across India and World.Everyone is disappointed with his character designs and called it FT 2.0.Maybe that also effected MS.

Not everything though. Ubel Blatt for example. I love Ubel Blatt but Mangastream started translating it and I think it's lack of popularity is generally unaffected.

I think it's totally fine for Mangastream to drop it if none of the people translating are into it. They don't even need to give a reason if they don't want to. They can't work on everything and there are lots of great and popular manga they aren't touching. Cruchyroll has it licensed and on simulpub anyway so it will be all over the place no matter what else happens.

I love Fairy Tail and i love Hiro Mashima and his style and way of doing things but one thing that annoys me about him is that atlest here in the west he always needs to do things that creates a huge bunch of annoying controversy, hate and complaining all the freaking time.
Like there was hundreds of times in Fairy Tail where something happened that people hated that created controversy and now with Edens Zero he created controversy and complaining by making the characters look so similar to the Fairy Tail characters.
I just wish Hiro Mashimas mangas could go on for a while without big controversial stuff like this happening and just do things that people are fine and happy with instead so there wont be any annoying and frustrating complaining, hate and negativity like there always is it feels like.

Just ignore them. Hipsters hate everything. That's the sad nature of hipsters. And they'll always be out there. Doesn't matter what Mashima did if some people want to hate something they will find a way. Just enjoy it the way you enjoy it. Everything else is just meaningless noise.

To be fair what he did with the character designs was a bold move. To any of us that has given it a chance I think he's convinced us it was a good one too. But it's not unreasonable to react negatively to it. Especially as a first impression.

That said I can't even remember the last time I reacted this positively to the first 3 chapters of a new manga. Everything about this is working for me.

Wow MS is straight trash now. The way they respond to backlash is childish, and their response to saying the manga is too similar to FT despite the setting and character's personality being vastly different is a very narrow minded and selective argument.

It seems like I'm going to drop MS for awhile maybe even indefinitely.

I may stop being a cheapskate and get the primium Crunchy Roll account. Apparently, this is the real way to combat Edited Mangas

They are secretly enjoying the series Reminds me when Naruto came out and "hardcore" anime fans thought of it as subpar and dubbed fans "narutards". I guess the hardcores caved in. Seriously, they do Blsck Clover and Boruto but not Eden? FT started off as a complete ripp off if Rave so MS is a bunch of hypocrites.

The problem is not them translating it, but the stupid reason behind it. If they dropped it bcs they didn't want to do it anymore then okay, but their justification of doing it was pure baloney. Then they say childish remarks like "butthurt" when they get called out for it.

He even did one for the cast of Monster Soul, the short series he did before FT.

Characters looking similar don't really matter when their personalities, goals, powers, and such are all completely different.

The thing about the character faces is silly. I mean, the Fate series is huge right? The Saberface meme is practically a point of pride for them. Nobody ever complains about it. They even made it an actual trait in FGO.

Honestly tho, FT ended last year and now Mashima is back doing just another fantasy story with characters that looks exactly the same, that has a guild and with horrible dialogue that keeps repeting friendship every two pages.

The memories of FT are stil fresh in people's minds, so I think that Mashima really should have put more effort in the designs of this characters, even if they have diferents personalities or objetives.

I mean, I guess. But was Fairy Tails ending worse that Naruto's(if you can even call it an ending)? I certainly don't think so. Hell I wish it had an ending as good as Fairy Tail's was. I'd have settled for one as good as Bleach's even.

Plus, if anything I would think those people who were upset by the ending would want there favorite characters from the series given another shot. You can have your cake and eat it too in this new sci-fi fantasy verse.

And let's be real, it doesn't really matter what their reason is for dropping it or how they said it. People would still be pissed off for the same reasons. It's also worth keeping in mind that popularity in Japan is the only thing that really matters when we're talking about whether the series will be a success or not. So, who does or doesn't translate it into other languages means diddly-squat as far as that goes.

I don't know who runs their Twitter, so I'm not sure what the motive is for saying what was said, but maybe they really think that? It's nothing I haven't already read about EZ. I'd understand the reaction more if they were the only option for fans to read the series but that's not really the case. If I was already a die-hard fan of the series I'd think it was unfortunate, shrug my shoulders and move on. But that's just me, I guess.

The EZ guild is nothing more than a job hub and has no real bonds like the FT guild had.

Doesn't matter in that time and in that place that was petty flame bait. He knew he was talking to a fan. It was an obnoxious thing to say. It didn't achieve anything. Had nothing to do with what the other guy was saying. It was just a jerk being a jerk.

Though I think your right that shrugging your shoulders and moving on is the way to go regardless but it definitely reflects poorly on those guys over at mangastream. Which is a shame. I know they have a history of getting into it with other Edited Manga groups and generally being kinda rude but you'd like to think they have a little class. Apparently not.

You're talking about Rurouni Kenshin's author? He was fined for possession of child porn, yes. Regardless of what you think MS should or shouldn't have said, they weren't taking a moral stance when they decided to drop EZ. So I really don't see how that comparison is valid at all.

They dropped the series because they don't like it. How is the criminal past of an author relevant? They didn't drop Toriko because of what Shimabukuro did. They've made no prior stand on such grounds (that I'm aware of).
