I think Elisa is the Seighart/Jellal of Edens Zero which could mean that Elisa and the black haired guy with her could sacrifice themselves for Rebecca and co. If Weisz is the grandson or son of the professor then it could be a situation like with Musica and his grandfather with them having the same name and I agree the professor could be dead but is the any reason why the professor would be arrested?

Why all of you still saing that Musica and his gf have the same name? Musica is not even a name, it's a surname. Misica's name is Hamrio, and his gf name is Galein.

Or even his real son. That part at least I'm convinced is not related to any time travel shenanigans. The real professor is probably already dead (Or arrested? This would be a cooler twist, but I'm not sure how much a rescue arc would benefit the series this early on)
Eden Zero is probably something that happens when all the Ether in a planet runs out, think FACE in Fairy Tail. That was a magic pulse bomb, my guess is that Mashima decided to go with something similar here in Eden Zero.

When Shiki had the goggles on, he looked at the other 2 but not himself, wonder if there's anything to that. Actually thought Hiro was conservative with the fanservice.

Time travel - hard to get excited about this prospect, since it's time travel. And with how the Eclipse Gates in FT were used it's another reason to be tentative. However I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt until we're a bit more into the story, it's probably a similar thing to the dragon slayers in FT, being from the past and having an ancient magic (Shiki's ether gear has been referred to as an ancient power so who knows). Well, at least Becca x Shiki is confirmed... oh wait it could be another guy ; ) (the astronauts said they were man and woman, rather than specify age, so likely adult bodies).

Oh, ether is essentially magic as we probably all thought. I can't recall ether manifesting itself in FT (with the earth colums), and the ether itself had it's own quality (earth). I like magic weapons, gives the normie humans a chance.

She said it flows through everyone and machines too. With the exception of Shiki and anyone who can use a Gear who can configure their ether to do work, I'm guessing others need weapons or technology to give them 'power'.

I know this manga is seemingly on the path to getting animated but isn't it still too early to say. The first volume hasn't even dropped so we can see how it sells. Its not guaranteed that this'll be a 100k seller out of the gate seeing as how FT's sales dropped quite a bit towards the end.
