And it sold 30,178 copies. Vol2 sold 41,506 copies. That isn't a drop, that is an increase. The "ranking" doesn't matter as much because there are many other factors that go into that, like how many new volumes of other anticipated series came out that week, etc.

That is a plus point no doubt but ultimately a series has to compare with other series'' sales.

It will not matter if it increases,let's say a series increases and reaches 80k but nothing will change if other series sell above 100k.

Not to mention it effects the overall monthly sales,last time in the monthly sales category it couldn't come in top 20 in a monthly sales ranking.

its really not that bad...

For a new writer no doubt,but for Mashima well,even with all it's faults in the last arc of FT Mashima is still a respected and popular mangaka in Japan.

Inoue and Urasawa could create a sensation in their following series's from the very beginning

But sadly both Mashima and the writer of Orient failed in that respect.

Especially when you see FT sequel which was not directly drawn by Mashima and beat Mashima's own drawn EZ manga.

Also Such an improvement since FT in its last days weren't this high in ranking and sales were falling.This actually renewed my interest in the sequel.



But anyway Mashima still has time to come back and hopefully he will do that.

Not good not good at all,Last time the volume 1 got the 13th position in the first sales ranking, but this time it fell to 16th position.I was pleasantly surprised that FT sold well,maybe I may pick it up again. @Tux you were right,the basic plot line of Ez being not that interesting and borderline boring(though it might have changed after I had to stop reading due to some personal real life issues) and the character designs being so similar to FT characters,like i saw the character in the last chapter i read had an Acnologia like design,Jinn probably,might have effected it's sales in Japan.

Considering Mashima this should have had more sales.

U gave me a good chuckle jinn affected its sales? lol he was introduced in chap 18 or something. Ft 100yq sold 42053 copies in its first week and it got 6 days for its first week since it was released on 6th November whereas ez sold 41506 in just two days almost equal to ft in just 2 days selling 42083 in 6 days or selling 41506 in two days i wonder which is more impressive

Berserk crushed all opposition.EZ got 44th position this time around.T hoigh overall sales of EZ is quite high.

Volume 2 already has half of the sales volume 1 had in September. One it gets recognition through merchandise, games, etc. I'm sure it will be quite popular.

Not sure why this FT vs EZ is happening right now as Mashima fans need to be united since we already get so much lip from the manga community in general.

But really you can see both sides of the argument

FT spin-off that’s not drawn by Mashima

• Vol 1 - maintained its 11th spot for two weeks(?)
• So far sold 93,405

Edens Zero which is done by Mashima

• Volume 2 is doing better than EZv1
• Volume 2 has 16th position for 2 it’s 2 days(?)

1. Is either one of them being in danger of cancelation? Probably not.
2. FT is a household name but the sequel isn’t circulationing like normal plus Ueda’s art isn’t on the same scale as Mashima yet.
3. EZ is new but Mashima is a household name and his art is beautiful.

While the arguement can be made that EZ will do better in the future, the same can be said about the sequel story. Lots of people didn’t switch over after FT ended. Also some were put off but the early chapters (subpar story and weird art). The manga seems to be coming together now. Likewise, a bunch of fans didn’t automatically follow Mashima to EZ.. I believe by next arc, Mashima will be more into his groove as he still feels like he’s a bit trying to figure out how he wants to make the story.

V2 just came out so I doubt its now doing bad. I don't think what you said are those mistakes as if it was, V1 wouldn't sell much either out of them. It still selling so it takes time for more sales to come together more. EZ is doing fine and get there and surprise FT coming along nicely after its last arc. Guess Mashima doing something right in the new sequel to workout like this then.

I see that you are giving more importance to the position that occupies the sleeve to what sold in its first week, so let's compare:

Edens Zero Vol.1 (First week) = 13. Eden's Zero # 1 (30,178)
Edens Zero Vol.2 (First week) = 16. Eden's Zero # 2 (41,506)

There was an increase of 11 thousand copies, where is the problem? is just beginning this manga, and that this is only in Japan.

For example in France the first volume had a circulation of 100 thousand copies, in the lounge of manga in Barcelona was the best-selling manga over The Promise Neverland.

It will not have its fame so quickly, but if it is growing, regardless of whether it is good or not, the other week would believe that we will have a good estimate of growth, or decrease in popularity.

If we want to measure its popularity, and is a good challenge, is that the manga when it stops coming out in the oricon weekly rankings has exceeded the sales that had its first volume were 96,723 copies sold
