Looks like a increasion than decreasion to me especially comparing the past volumes. Especially doing better in first week compare to the others. We still got to wait overall for this volume too.

EZ 4th best launch / series in 2018 in France.
You can always count France for their high sales in manga for sure. They are second to Japan on department I think. They really enjoys works of Mashima when I check over there.

Ha but this is the case, France is the second country that buys / reads / sells, the most manga after Japan.

We are number 2 XD, again that's why Mashima loves us so much XD.

That's why the sales or opinions of fans in France is important it is not that we have the absolute truth, but our opinion has some weight anyway.

And those since the years, 80 - 90 XD.

Because it makes us vibrate, passion and fun is there.

After you do not like it also in France, mainly always the same, the fan boys of OP, but especially the young ones too.

Because they find it too simple, too cliché, too predictable, too kids and everything, the usual criticisms what.

But I do not know any of my age who are fans of OP and who are in hatred for mashima.

Because we old people have the impression of having found the DB, the cobra, the Ken, nicky larson, the OP, of our youth.

After you have old people of my age, who does not like it, because they have become more demanding in winter.

But after we are not fanboys who forgives everything and sees no fault, when it's okay we say it

Complementing this information, Edens Zero has sold 35k copies, taking into account that the circulation of that first volume was 100k copies.

They are very good sales and in addition the circulation time is much lower than that of the other series, you may have a good reception, it is necessary to wait if you start to increase your reception when the volumes pass.Complementing this information, Edens Zero has sold 35k copies, taking into account that the circulation of that first volume was 100k.

Yeah, but again, wasn't Fairy Tail work the same way? Well, FT is not just that crappy Alvarez arc, where Hiro has made Irene with no idea what should she be. Of course, first arcs were kinda stand-alone and didn't have "main story" going through them, but you can see some inter-arcs stories (honestly there were many foreshadowing for Tower of Heaven -- Ultear and Jellal's plotting since very first chapter, Jellal said about his and Erza's shared past during Lullaby arc and others), so Hiro really had some initial framework, and even in afterword from chapter 6 he wrote "There are plot elements that I want to draw, and scenes that I envision and other fragmentary plans, but there isn't even a hint of 'first I want to do this, and then that' style of planning". And that's why it's some similiar to EZ--he planned Homura, he planned her connection to Valkyrie, but he didn't plan when he would introduce her or how her and Valkyrie's arc would go. Maybe EZ is really better planned than Fairy Tail (well, Hiro actually knew EZ would be longer to begin with), but only time will tell. FT story started to crumble since GMG, so Edens Zero really have to start suck (or hopefully not).
Going by his planning for FT, Mashima likely had no particular idea in mind for what Jellal and Ultear were plotting, or how Erza knew Jellal, before he started the Tower of Heaven arc. He was just opening doors for potential story arcs he'd revisit down the line, with no guarantee at the time that he'd follow through. Of course, he had no idea it'd last long enough until he exhausted his ideas, but there are some bits of foreshadowing like Erigor's return for revenge, or the dragons coming back for the "Dragon King Festival", or what Jellal and Ultear really wanted with Deliora that were swept aside or amounted to nothing in the end.

With EZ, there is more than just backgrounds set in stone, but actual long-term story and character progression, like Pino's character arc, or the search for the Four Shining Stars. They are stories guaranteed to happen, not just "neat ideas that may or may not happen" like FT. On a scale between "when it happens" and "if it happens", EZ's events are closer to "when" than FT, regardless of how much sooner or later Mashima thinks they'll happen.

Erigor actually came back for revenge in anime (but Key of Starry Sky arc was written by Mashima, so it counts I think?) and Ultear and Jellal wanted Deliora just to control it and awaken Zeref with it somehow. And EZ is too young series to say that events are guearanteed to happen. We didn't get forgotten or abruptly ended events yet, but it's hard to say we won't get them eventually. We have already one postponed--the whole Justice squad thing intorduced in Guist arc and haven't brought back since. And moveover, he wanted them to be back in Digitalis, but created new, unplanned team instead. That honestly looks like Mashima doesn't know what to do with Interstellar Army, but again, time will tell. It's hard to tell about "posiibility of event to happen" in on-going series, because Hiro may bring Intestellar Army after 100 chapters and make really good arc with them (like he did with Grimoire Heart back in the day). For now, it looks kinda messy. Don't get me wrong, I hope that EZ is better planned than FT (it's way more interesting than FT for now to be honest), but, in my opinion, comparing it to final arc of FT is unfair. Begining arc of FT were pretty good, there weren't many plot flawns or inconsistency back then, all bad things started to came to light after like 200 chapters. EZ is still young, everything may happen to it.

We're talking about the manga. The anime was just picking up the slack for Mashima.

The point is that Edens Zero has more LONG. TERM. PLANNING. Than Fairy Tail ever did. NOT COMPLETELY, but it's THERE, and there is MORE OF IT.

MAYBE
it will keep panning out like this. MAYBE it WON'T. It IS too soon to tell that much, but as of NOW, the very moment and well into the conceivable future that I have finished typing this comment, it's still DIFFERENT.

And I'm talking about the same thing, so maybe you should chill? Edens Zero has more long-term planning, but Fairy Tail also had some from the very begining. EZ is just doing it better, but it's not the point here. The point originally was that you said nothing in FT was planned, but in EZ he actually started planning, my point was in both FT and EZ he was planning, just better in EZ. It's really weird that now you agree with me that there was planning in FT, but less, and still sceaming at me. I'm not getting you fully, but while we are writing kinda the same things now, but with different wording, I'll stop for now...

It's true though nothing in ft was planned except for the character traits even mashima himself confirmed it
