So the page with Escanor was the last one? I was hoping we could see more of him, like transforming or something. And omg Zaratras is basically Gilthunder with long hair.
I think it would be interesting if Nakaba did a Gaiden series sometime in the future.

Why? All the sins so far are somewhat kidlike.... I mean, the oldest looking one is ban and he looks perpetually 20 at the most, being actually the youngest. Merlin is a huge tease that for some reason does not give a fuck (so she at least acts like an asshole teenager). Meliodas looks 12 which probably makes elizabeth into a pedo... King looks 12 too. If gowther is being paired with guila he presumably looks 16 or 17... Diane looks around 16 as far as I can tell (and acts like it when not fighting too). All the sins are in some form immortal kids. To me it would have been weird if escanor was not actually kidlike.

I'd actually say that Mel is the pedo, given that, despite his appearance, he is, like, over 700 years old at the least.

I'm not going to lie, I was also hoping Escanor would have been an elderly gentleman in his normal form. Of course, that still may be the case, but the author has subverted our expectations a couple of times when it came to the appearance of the Sins with Mel, King, and Gowther, so Escanor not looking like he does on his wanted poster is about right. However, we still have that New Arc Splash Page from a while ago that showed him to be an old man, so...I don't know where we stand anymore.

If Escanor is indeed a vampire, he looks as though he's an introvert and outcast vampire. His posture and demeanor comes across as shy. Can't really go on much with as single page though.

AFAIK this is the first part of a 100 page story( I dunno how many pages are in this first part though), we'll get the second part with the second BD/DVD release but I dunno when that will be. I also do hope we get to see more of Zaratras. It's quite strange to see the Great Holy Knights all hanging out together with Meliodas and Merlin too. How the years have changed things.

Well, appearance aside, from that picture, what I can conclude is ,Escanor seem to be the sins " peacemaker " or someone who solve the problem among the sins....it seem like Mel messed up with his cooking and insist they should eat it where of cause, none of them would, and ended up with Escanor suggest they should play " Jan ken "to decide who get to eat those nasty cooking of Meliodas....
btw, it's a pure guess of mine since I can't read jap..I just conclude what I understand by seeing the pic...

@goldb Thanks didn't know they planned to release the rest with the other DVDs. For now it looks like we got just the prelude. So maybe there's still hope to see Escanor take on that other form. Beatrice mentioned that Escanor was a Berserker, not a vampire...I think it's safer to wait for the proper scans if they ever leak.

I think we need to agree virtually everyone in that "relationship" is a pedo. Sure, meliodas is 3000 years old or so (the demons sealed 3000 years ago knew him after all) so yeah, he is kinda a pedofile. We wouldn't let him get away with that if he looked anywhere upward of 30. On the other hand liz, who has the attributes of a full grown woman so to speak, is sexually attracted to an apparently prepubescent meliodas. I guess society's rules don't apply to a 3000 year old demon demigod with unfathomable power and an apparently reincarnated goddess of unfathomable goodness.

Everything still seems to indicate that escanor's appearance varies according to something though.

It varies according to time of the day.
It's mentioned in the chapter.At a certain time (I think Morning) he changes appearance and enters an absolutely crazed state.
King is supposedly very scared of that form.

Well, a crystal ball could be a sacred treasure. It does not appear to be crystal though, its too black and apparently not translucent. I wonder what is it for though. I guess it is supposed to work well with merlin's power? But it is not an actual weapon... Maybe it is meant to amplify enchantments... Although that would seem overpowered to a great extent.

Useless? No, he is still a Sin and I'm sure his strength is invaluable no matter what the circumstance. Unreliable? Maybe. I'd say it depends on what kind of crazy he is. Is his insanity something that requires him to be sequestered from other constantly when it kicks in? Or is it something that just makes his personality hard to work with and prevents effective team tactics? Either way, it doesn't actually mean that he can't be used for missions at all, just that they potentially have to take more precautions in dealing with him in daylight.

We really need to see what he entails. I hope he is shown in this arc and we don't have to wait until the next box set come out to see him.

Its hard to say for sure what the exact circumstances of Escanor's powers will entail. Maybe Merlin will make him something that allows him to change forms whenever he wants to? Maybe the "Young-weak-skinny Escanor" is like a squire and the "Older-Berserk-strong Escanor" is the knight? Seeing how the Escanor reveal is the very last page of the first part of this story, we won't get any answers until the next part with the Vol. 2 release or Escanor shows up in the main manga.

Yeah Ban was really badass with the crazy hair and the armor. And is it me or is Escanor not wearing one? His design kinda sucks too, I hope his second form is more intimidating.

My guess is the sacred weapon compensates for the other odd hours he isn't very good at fighting, would be the only way to actually balance him out so that he isn't so useless the other hours of the day. That or Merlin probably has meds for him.
