We saw her use a light based weapon against the Gods, so she definitely has the capabilities to use a weapon.

If I was Nakaba, I'd give her a staff like weapon to enhance her ark and give her the "spellcaster or healer" type look.

Thats was just an ark shaped dagger or smh.
Female characters could have been writtrn better tbh

The reason why 2nd holy war was peak for me was that there were many characters who had their development shown...I just passed a comment where elizabeth is mocked for her crying out "Meliodas sama" for every scratch he gets..and after the latest ep where she slaps him (the most evil demon there was..)with arc..it's just so good how she was in that arc...

Nakaba portrayed her as a damsel in distress and a background character since the beginning and he has no changed it, not even close.

But she had incredible character development back then. Sure, she wasn't the strongest female but she actually had a personality other than screaming Meliodas-sama all the time.
Ever remember the time when she used to have a weak resolve for her people and an extreme lack of self-esteem and yet toughened up to protect that one kid who wasn't actually a kid? And then soon after she discovered that, she didn't break down in tears, but smirked over Ruin's failure to realize what she actually aimed for.
If it wasn't for her powers awakening, all of the people of Liones might have met certain doom against Hendrickson. You can't call that being a "background character since the beginning" when she was one of the most influential in the Liones battle, being the one responsible for turning the tides completely.

That and there were plenty tiny moments in the inbetween arcs where she showed she had an actual character. She was given the most attention among the others girls e.g Diane, Elaine, etc. I'm not going to argue about the current state of her character because it's basically non-existent now, except when she returned to being herself for one chapter, smirking over the fucking Clown King because he underestimated her power

But I guess most nowadays always need a Mary Sue like Erza to satisfy their hunger, because they can't look at a physically weak female without berating the poor girl. I'm sure glad Elizabeth turned out the way she was in the Holy Knights crises because she sure would have liked her enemies underestimating her so she would smirk over their stupid failures.

She was something in the Holy Knight saga, despite being weak, she was courageous and even helped Meliodas and Diane from that illusion, she wasn't a background character, even her role was central as the sins protected her from the knights.

But after that saga, she feels like a background character and that personality seems to have dissapeared.

I could be wrong tho.

Of course, I like Elizabeth as a character FAR MORE than Erza.

She was more of a background character without memories though. Once she got them, she was pretty upfront and centre to a lot of the plot/tension.

I mean, Elizabeth was the object of obsession for Mael/Estarossa entirely and started a war against Meliodas. I don't see how you can view her as a "background character" during these times.

It's only now in recent chapters where she feels like she is fading into the background.

You know, I really wanted the next arc to be about the supreme deity and Elizabeth confronting her and gaining her true form back becuase she deserves to the main character and to face the problems in her realm about how late it's getting corrupted like how Zaneri and Jenna mentioned and she can become the new leader of the goddess race, Im not sure if im right, but isn't Elizabeth like the crowned princess of the goddess clan? cause Ludoshel and the rest of the archangels to keep calling her "lady Elizabeth" which means she is someone who is very important if the four strongest goddesses call her that.

Yeah, she is the crowned princess but most people just refer to her with the "Lady" title. As for Elizabeth and her mother, Nakaba had such an excellent opportunity to introduce their ark after the boulder "supposedly killed her".

The Demon King had been defeated and naturally, it would've been the SD's turn to come in, but instead we get the DK again, then the revival of Chaos. So now, even if the SD returns, it's going to feel pointless.

Had it been me, I would've had Elizabeth die under the boulder, have the SD summon her to the celestial realm for some purpose. Meliodas and the others might go into the realm to save Elizabeth and go from there.
