Is Fairy Tail popular enough in Japan for a next gen series though? Naruto ended at 700 chapters with tons of movies, merch and a very long running anime - definitely still marketable enough for a next gen.
I'm fairly certain Mashima is moving onto a new series like he said in a volume afterword..
