I'm sorry what? Just because someone like Racer focuses on speed doesn't mean he's faster than someone tiers above him. This is just nonsense.
Uhm, his magic gives him the ability to slow time. There is no one up to now who is faster than Racer instead of Jellal. Your logic that the difference in tiers means who is faster is nonsense.

Eh, Natsu should be in top tier and TO Cheria was only effective against Dimaria because of the slayer advantage. We don't have much feats about her so we can't speak.

He slows you perception of time down. They are multiple people faster than him, if he was so much faster than everyone in the series now he would be a top tier. Use common sense, just because you specialise in something doesn't mean someone who in general is wayyy above you can't top you in that field, use your head.

No Plue really ? hes feats also show that he way above anyone else . no one even come close too his level when manga starts.

Side Note : Well even after very poor battle performance ( she got none tbh ) in Hargeon people still thinks that Kagura have some fire power ( me as well ).Maybe she will get some time to shine if ( i think she will ) will go FT squad to Magnolia. It's just my opinion if someone will try to argue with me with " no she don't " don't even try i will not respond in pointless discussion.

We don't know Plue's allegiance...maybe he is making use of both sides :D

Also Kagura is strong because of her Archenemy but I her emotions and plot hold her down ._.

Ranking Laxus above Natsu, Gildarts and Jellal

:yodawg
Implying any of them bar maybe Jellal via has done anything to warrant them being above him, assuming this is Natsu without Igneel's MP.

But you shouldn't be laughing, you're the same guy who thinks Erza is on the same tier as Laxus and co.

All three have shown more to warrant being above him.

I do and I don't see what would put her a whole tier below, that's all.

Most of her recent wins have been due to PoF which we all know even Acnologia can't beat.

I would def place Freed way higher. And Evergreen and Bixlow are definitely no fodder.

Dark écriture is absolutely dangerous and hella OP IF Mashima would give him a proper fight and actually use it properly. Gosh, he can teleport, fly, reflect spells, create explosions, torture physically and mentally, has is Absolute Shadow and Demon form even has a friggin death spell at his disposal. Freed is easily one of the most powerful mages the FT guild has.

Ever and Bix are not to be underestimated either. Guys, don't forget they've been the strongest team before Team Natsu got formed. They have been feared by their enemies and had and still have a hella amount of respect from their guild mates.

I'd place Juvia and Lyon higher as well, tbh. Don't underestimate Meredy either. Remember she's been part of Grimoire Heart and her magic could be hella strong and influential, too. I'm okay with the top tiers, tho.

What? Gildarts beat Bluenote and didn't even while the floor with him either, Bluenote is someone who isn't near Spriggan level so that's a no.

Natsu needed help against Jacob and would of lost if not for PIS (Happy randomly appearing between his hands preventing him from clapping and using his magic). So that's a no as well.

Yeah non of them apart from Natsu MAYBE could be considered above Laxus.

Erza was getting tossed around by arguably the weakest Spriggan and was called a warm up, Laxus while ill was able to keep up with Wahl until the particle stopped his movements...... While as soon as Laxus was healthy he essentially one shot a Spriggan. Erza isn't in Laxus' tier, I'd be surprised if he could push him to med-dif, same applies for Natsu vs Erza.

No need to apologize, I'm always open to criticism :).

I'm not ranking these characters based on what they have shown alone. If I was then I wouldn't put Gildarts up there with Natsu, Laxus when they have way better feats. Just like Gildarts and other characters, I'm giving Kagura the benefit of doubt here. She was basically Erza tier pre timeskip, so I'm putting her in that tier for now under the assumption that she trained as hard as Erza.

Oh yeah, I forget about Freed's jutsu shiki... lol, my bad. That spell was indeed very impressive, so I'll adjust my rankings and put him higher.

Freed more impressive than Kagura? Freed has shown nothing comparable to Kagura's power. She is easily on Erza's level while Freed is more like on Lucy/DF Wendy level if I were to be generous. He's more like on Juvia's level or less. The shield that Freed used is his magic. Size doesn't necessarily correlate with power. Seriously, even Wahl's prototype was easily able to dispel that. Not to mention, the Jutsu Shiki nearly took all of Freed's power to fuel it. If we were to literally analyze their feats, it is obvious that Kagura destroys Freed.

Kagura

Current Feats
  • Fought Dimaria on Equal Terms (Spriggan Level)
  • Sliced through at least 5 of Wahl's Missiles (Incredible Speed)
  • Casually Blitzed Neinhart's Knight (Erza's Level)
  • Still Alive and Can Fight (Not Defeated)
Past Feats
  • Fought Erza on Slightly Equal Terms (Erza's Level)
  • Fought GMG Dragon + Dragon Hatchlings (Survived)
  • Overwhelmed Lyon + Yuka (Note Lyon's Power | Win without Timelimit)
  • Strongest of Mermaid Heel (Hype)

Freed

Current Feats
  • Performed Jutsu Shiki (Size of Magnolia)
  • Destroyed Fake Wahl (With Help from Ichiya)
  • Defeated by Explosion from Wahl's Prototype (Low Durability | Ichiya Survived)
Past Feats
  • Defeated Rustyrose (With Bickslow, Evergreen, and Elfman)
  • Defeated by Base Tempesta (Even With Bickslow/Evergreen)
  • Defeated by Mirajane (Kagura at least on Mirajane's Level)
  • Fought GMG Dragon + Dragon Hatchlings (Survived)

I mean considering all these feats. Kagura doesn't even come close to Freed's Level. Adding in hype, she greatly surpasses him.

If we are judging only by this and last ARC's events then sure, but that's just because Mashima barely includes the Raijinshuu at all. Do people forget about Gildarts' strength and powers while he is barely even present? No. Then why do they forget about the Raijinshuu's? Probably because they got knocked out by really dumb occurrences like particles or this explosion which is really upsetting.

It's a fact that Freed has already been on S-Class level way before the Fantasia ARC. Imagine how much time has passed.

At frst he has Jutsu Shiki. It's not a magic used in melee/direct battle but man, give him time for preparation and he could take out guilds on his own, Wizard Saint or not, no matter who (unless they have nullifying magic like Wahl hah, or happen to conicidentally carry a pile of books with them to rewrite the spell IF they know rune/script magic). His own Hunger Games 2.0.

Dark Écriture? Don't get me started on that again. Still wondering why Mashima gave this boy these two hella powerful magics and then never ends up using them. All of the Raijinshuu's magics are amazing and the eye-magics, WOAH! Freed even has one more advantage because his eye magic does not require eye-contact. Actually, once you get hit by one of his torture runes you will have lost. Sounds a bit exaggerated but if this guy starts to torture you physically and even mentally without pause then it'll be difficult to get out of it. Then there's even a death spell, which I mentioned before. Mashima why? His demon mode. People like to say how Mirajane beat him so easily but you have to consider that he had already used a lot of magic and it amazes me every time how much magic power this guy has. Back then he already surrounded the entire town with runes, plus the traps, plus he still fought actively in battle. He managed a take down on Mirajane in the hand-to-hand combat part even but people tend to just ignore these significant turns and facts.

Apart from that, he is a swordsmanship specialist. He has been shown to be able to cut through a tornado spell with one single slash, he is extremely agile and his slashes have great accurancy.

So yea, judging by just late appearance is not something legit to do. Mashima barely gives the Raijinshuu proper fights/screen time at all but that doesn't mean they have gotten weaker. If anything, they can only have gotten far stronger knowing how determined they are. And again remember; Raijinshuu have been the strongest team before Team Natsu for a very damn good reason. And then you have to consider that Team Natsu has five people plus Happy and Charlre (who of course haven't much magic power but did save their partner's asses a few times) while Raijinshuu are just three.

Gosh, basically I could give you an entire essay about Freed's chara and his powers. Man, it's upsetting how people judge like that and forget about important facts.

I honestly don't reply to that guy anymore, his posts don't make sense.........
He said that Kagura fought on even footing with Dimaria when Dimaria was clearly toying with her and stripping off her clothes..........
He also refused to name Freed's strength's, Freed when given time is one of the most powerful Wizards in Fairy Tail, if you let him slip then he will outsmart you, like Batman, if given prep time or if he can put distance between himself and his opponent then he is formidable.
He was the reason why Laxus nearly took over fairy tail during the fighting festival arc, but of course this guy refuses to mention it............
He also refused to mention the fact that Freed was keeping the Jutsu Shiki up for the entirety of the bombardment, he only thinks in combat terms and if you only think like that then Wendy = Warrod and Levy is fodder tier.

Agreed. Jutsu Shiki does need time, and when he has it then well good luck finding a way to get out of this shit because there's almost none, but Dark Écriture has so many different and incredibly powerful spells that are perfect for direct battle, not to mention that he can show impressive hand-to-hand combat skills in Absolute Shadow mode and his forbidden Demon form as well. Like I said, in his Demon mode he was even able to overpower Mira before she gained the upper hand after (luckily) crashing into a lake instead of hard ground or something.

He is without doubt one of the most powerful but Mashima just doesn't give any of the Raijinshuu a chance to remind people of their skills. Particles, explosions? Really? And whenever Ever and Bix get into a fight their opponents coincidentally are immune to their eye-magics (Rustyrose on Tenrou, Wahl in this ARC)?

Ah but well. Someone needs to remind people of this, and I'm more than happy to do so ;D

The reason why nobody forgets Gildarts is because he has shown feats to prove that he is Fairy Tail's strongest. Freed, on the other hand, hasn't shown much and he has quite enough screen time already compared to someone like Kagura.

It's a fact that Freed has already been on S-Class level way before the Fantasia ARC. Imagine how much time has passed.
Not necessarily. S-Class Level is not something that is easy to get to. So far, there has only been 4 S-Class Mages in Fairy Tail, excluding Gildarts. To say Freed is S-Class Level would depend on whether he is a match for those 4 wizards in which he has shown nothing to that extent. Even Team Natsu, who were probably the most qualified among everyone else in the S-Class Trials, were not guaranteed a spot because it's not that simple.

Sure, the Jutsu Shiki is not a combat style magic but in battle, time is limited. There is no such thing as giving someone time in battle because power is not all about attack. There are many other attributes that affect MP like defense, intelligence, versatility, magic capacity/energy, and speed whether it is combat or movement. For me to believe that Freed can take down someone that is on the level of the Wizard Saint would require extensive evidence. I mean Jose Porla, who was barely even the Top 5 had to be taken down by Makarov with Fairy Law.

This type of magic is what we would consider as a combat magic. I would agree it is strong but at the level of someone like Kagura. Freed's fights have always been quite underwhelming but to say that is is because of the author is kind of unfair. I mean the author has to differentiate between powers and it is reasonable that Freed is not considered as a High Tier Wizard due to his feats. That is like me saying how Macao is weak because Hiro Mashima made him get captured by a fodder and that he has little screen time. There is a reason for that and it is to portray that Macao is just not strong.

Freed's eye magic should be somewhat useful but there is a limit to that. Even the opponents he used it on weren't really that impressive. Similarly, that spell that Freed used on Elfman only looked deadly because it was Elfman who was the target. There is no indication that it could be used as effectively on someone stronger. As far as I'm concerned, Mirajane dominated Freed fair and square. The moment Mirajane got serious, Freed was losing both in CQC and magic.

Apart from that, he is a swordsmanship specialist. He has been shown to be able to cut through a tornado spell with one single slash, he is extremely agile and his slashes have great accurancy.
The subject I was debating on was the difference in power between Kagura and Freed. Although Freed may have decent swordsmanship, his attacks only took out Fairy Tail fodders. Plus, the fact that Kagura uses a sword too would mean Freed would lose fast. Not only will Kagura probably break his sword, but that same slash will most likely critically damage Freed.

I have to judge the current feats because this thread is the power ranking regarding the Alvarez Arc. But even if I were to count the past feats like I did, there is just no way Freed can match Kagura. I agree that the Raijinshuu is probably one of the strongest teams besides Team Natsu, mainly because there aren't that many but that is exactly my point. Kagura is not much less than Erza, Natsu, or Gray if that and those 3 would definitely annihilate the Raijinshuu.

Don't get me wrong, Freed is not totally weak. He just isn't on the same level as Kagura.

The reason why nobody forgets Gildarts is because he has shown feats to prove that he is Fairy Tail's strongest. Freed, on the other hand, hasn't shown much and he has quite enough screen time already compared to someone like Kagura.
In regards to fights I wouldn't say that he had more time to show what he can master. After the Battle of Fairy Tail Mashima never really gave the Raijinshuu a chance anymore. Maybe the only exception is Tenrou, which is also a nice example actually because there it has been shown how much respect the Raijinshuu still have (during the fight against Rustyrose). But apart from this one? Where did they really get a chance to fight? It's a shame, ugh.

Even Team Natsu, who were probably the most qualified among everyone else in the S-Class Trials, were not guaranteed a spot because it's not that simple..

This is what I mean. Apparently Freed and Erza sparred from time to time (which is actually a nice imagination, brotp!!) and she clearly acknowledges his skills, even telling him to go ask Master for the S-Class rank, so he can at least already pick S-Class missions. Now how much time has passed? Probably about three years, and back then even Master was already surprised by how strong he had gotten. Apart from that he's not only powerful but also smart and quick-witted. So Freed is definitely on S-Class level, but so is Natsu.

That's why I said that Jutsu Shiki is definitely not adapted for direct/melee battle. But it is a fact that he could take out anyone if he had time to prepare. Makarov had not a single chance to get out of his rune trap and it was but a simple barrier. Now imagine Freed using the barrier that, for example, deprives the person trapped inside of oxygen.

Hmm no in my opinion it's not unfair at all. Mashima barely gives them any screen time anymore even though they are part of the guild. Thanks to Freed Laxus' plan could work out until a certain point. In the Battle of FT ARC it got clearly stated that they were the strongest team. They were feared and obviously powerful. If they weren't then Laxus wouldn't have spend time with and opened up to them for so long and in comparison to Macao they HAVE shown that they are hellishly skilled.

The spell didn't just look deadly. Elfman, and anyone else who would have been target, would end up being killed because Freed has a literal death spell. And yes, of course Mira did, but with his type of magic and the versatility it has he could have done way better. He was the villain, he had to lose at some point (this probably sounds dumb, but there are many fights in FT where I think this lmao) and it was good that he lost against someone strong like Mirajane, that was very believable (like y'know unlike for example Rufus vs Gray, judging by skills and all Rufus should still have won the fight imo) and I also think that it was Mira's most powerful fight. After that her fights got less active as well which is a shame. This fight was short but really refreshing and def belongs to my fav fights tbh. But I digress.

So Rustyrose is 'fodder'? Because that's the one HALF-proper fight he got after the Battle of FT. Like I said, he didn't get the chance to show what he can do whereas Kagura did. And don't forget his accurancy and speed is A+ as well. He has wings. He can teleport, he can reflect attacks and so on and so on. A direct fight between these two would actually be hella interesting. I'm a sucker for swordsusers.

Also, you say you are rating based on what we saw in the current ARC? Um... Then actually Freed has done more than Kagura. The huge ass Jutus Shiki barrier around town and his Absolute Shadow. What was Kagura done in regards to spells, skills? Unfortunately fairly little. But it would be bs to just judge by this ARC because I know that BOTH, Freed and Kagura, are capable of way more than what they got this/the last ARCs.

So yea, all in all I'd say it'd be wrong to say that he is absolutely not on the same level as Kagura. I actually didn't even intend to discuss between the two. All I said is that I would definitely put Freed higher on the list, I didn't say that I would put Kagura lower because she is powerful as heck as well. It's hard to say who would win in certain fights anyway because there are always many different conditions and influences that play a part in each fight but yea, I stand by my words and say that Freed is without doubt one of the most powerful mages FT (guild) has.
