His roar wouldn't envelop the whole city, but it would probably take out a string of houses similar to the way Natsu's LFD Iron Strike did when he fought Jackal. I agree that the city the GMG wouldn't be huge. It wouldn't be as large as the capital city of Crocus. In fact, it would be a fraction of it because you can you can probably fit multiple of Magnolias in Crocus.

And here's why we can be confident why the GMG stadium can house a city. Because when Sting broke the floor and got to the lower levels, the characters ended up...
The arena can hold a city yes, and it that castle that Erza went into was huge. It looked small from the outside but it huge in the inside.

But that was magic, that doesn't apply to Natsu because when he came back there was just the normal arena. So quit using that panel as a way to justify Natsu being city level.

His strongest attack was roar of the fire dragon King. It stretched for miles but that itself wasn't city level.

I don't see any rooms from within the Pandemonium castle that looks bigger from the inside from the manga, and the anime has a completely different design for the castle. If Natsu can melt the GMG stadium, which is probably made of the same materials you would build a house, then there's no reason he wouldn't be able to destroy your average building within a city. The point is that Natsu's attacks is large enough to effect an area as large as a city. Why wouldn't that make him city-level?

Fire Dragon King's Roar should be on the same level as Demolition Fist. If there is a difference, I don't see there being a massive difference. It's the difference between Natsu's punches and his roars.

Can you not see the difference between the amount of fire that comes out of his hand and his mouth?

Fake city, small city doesn't mean Natsu is city level.

Not really. They look to be about the same size, with negligible differences. The roar took out a chunk of the canyon and hit a couple hundred people. Demolition Fist took out Ikusa-Tsunagi, who was like 1/3 of the town he was standing beside. The body heat from FDK mode vaporized lake Scilliora, which is larger than the town of Magnolia according to the guild's GPS, and demolition fist is stronger than the body heat itself.
You're just going to call it "fake"? It's not like I'm saying Natsu is going to take down Crocus, but the city within the GMG should at least be comparable to the village Gildarts cracked.

I am generally curious how big do all of you think a mountain is in general? The mountain Gildarts destroyed wasn't comparable to Everest or the ones in the Alps, nor did Gildarts full destroy a mountain.

In the first silent chapter you see Gildarts cause an explosion on the side of the 'mountain':

http://www.mangapanda.com/fairy-tail/299/14

That literally takes up a small portion of the 'mountain' and we don't even see how much he destroyed. So Gildarts didn't bust a mountain in the first silent chapter.

Now let's look at the second silent chapter.we see a hill, yes I'm not even going to try and call it a mountain, it's small enough to the point where we can get a full shot of the hill and the tops of trees are clearly visible:

http://www.mangapanda.com/fairy-tail/417/14

While Gildarts himself didn't even pulverize or vaporize the entire thing, he simply sent big cracks down it and busted of some of the surrounding area, in fact later in the chapter we see some of the damn forest, and it looks perfectly fine:

http://www.mangapanda.com/fairy-tail/417/16

Gildarts is by no means a 'mountain buster'

Heck Natsu's LFD Roar was more impressive, the thing at the very least pulverized a huge volume of rock seeing how it tear right through the middle of Tenrou:

http://www.mangapanda.com/fairy-tail/246/11

I don't want to see this Gildarts is a mountain buster, because he aint.

There's no reason Natsu wouldn't be able to land at least a few hits on Gildarts. If those hits are FDk spells, they should take out Gildarts in the same fashion they took out Jacob (who should have even greater magical power than Gildarts).

Natsu is city level.
:
For the second spoiler you said the panel of Natsu's attack doesn't compare to LFD attacks when the attack itself was an LFD attack Natsu used against Gildartz...

That's funny because Laxus secret art was only city block in that magical city. Are you saying Natsu is stronger?

I'm saying the first attack (basic) doesn't compare to the second attack (LFD). LFD didn't exist when Natsu fought Gildarts on Tenrou.

AoE isn't everything, but Natsu is stronger the GMG Laxus. So is current Laxus. I also don't think it was ever stated that Laxus was using a secret art.

You can see rivers and stuff.

And that panel you showed is pointless, they've could've walked away from that area. But I don't care to speculate.

Dragon roars always have great distance. Walh' cannon traveled several miles. Gildarts doesn't have ranged attacks so don't bring petty attacks.

http://fairytail.wikia.com/wiki/Crash?file=Gildarts_uses_Crash.gif

Nice try bud.

First thing first, there being a river doesn't make that hill mountain sized. Secondly, he didn't even pulverize or vaporize the entire mountain he sent some cracks through it.

I hope you're not implying they walked into a different forest seperate from the one on the hill just to say bye :lmao

No Dragon roar don't always travel great distances, only three roars have and they are. Natsu's first LFD Roar, Gajeel's first ISD Roar and the FDK Roar.

Oh yeah send me a gif of anime filler which STILL DOESN'T SHOW HIM PULVERIZING THE WHOLE HILL.

So Laxus nuke, Natsu roar, demo fist also means nothing. You just contradicted yourself. Nice job bud.

Yes, AoE isn't everything. That's why Natsu's secret arts are stronger than his roars, and why the actual demolition fist is stronger than his body heat. I didn't say AoE means nothing. Those attacks are still impressive in their own right.

Do you outline of the green trees?

That was a mountain, in the gif Gildarts destroyed the mountain and the surrounding area. And that was a casual punch. Natsu can use demo fist on Gildarts but crash was enough to level a mountain, so demo fist isn't touching Gildarts.

It's not filler of its in the manga

How was that filler? It was an animated version of the chapter 417.

You're calling that a hill. well that's a tall hill.

Now I think you're crazy, youre calling that a hill. well that's a tall hill.
When it comes to using scans and images as canon evidence, manga >>>>>>>> anime. There's a lot of stuff added and changed in the anime that doesn't match the manga exactly.

However, there is things that anime have that manga don't have due to Mashima's time constraint. (He's written this in his volume from twitter)
So you can't say manga>>>>>>anime.

Right, Laxus vs Etherious Tarafusa

You can call that mountain a hill all you want. It doesn't decrease its size.

Alright since the link for the calculation didn't work I will instead copy n paste it and tell you guys where to find it.
You can find this if you go on google and look up the google plus community "Anime/Manga Calcs Database" then go on the Fairy Tail section it should be there.

"FT feat again

# Gildart's busts a Mountain? Oi, well maybe not

Well here's your feat

http://www.mangapanda.com/fairy-tail/417/14

Here's the scaling

http://i.imgur.com/Wk0ubAq.jpg?1

Natsu (red) 56px = 1.7m
5th Scale Line (Blue) 71.5px = 2.22m

http://i.imgur.com/gRBNgC8.jpg?1

5th Scale Line (red) = 68.5px = 2.22m
Tree Trunk (blue) = 300px = 9.72m

Assuming that the trees which look of same kind are roughly same height as the scaled one.

Tree Trunk 2 (yellow) = 210px = 9.72m
Tree = 375px (green) = 17.35m

http://i.imgur.com/8cLQiYS.jpg?1

gotta admit he draws like shit here. I almost confused the shit with bushes and then later shading XD Looking at lower parts of Mountain I realized he was showing off bunch of group of trees / dense forest.

10px tree (red) = 17.35m
680px mountain height (blue) = 1180.3m
780px width (green) = 1353.3m

The final steps. Volume and DC (Open for change.)

Using conical volume seems like our safest bet here. It could've marginally more or less vol.

Conical volume = 9.87e+8 m^3 = 9.87e+14 cm^3
Fragmentation (8j/cc) = 6.66e+15 J, that is 1.6 Megatons

Lower than expected but well, Mountain was still standing and it was low end fragmentation.

Small City Level+ Semi Casual Gildarts ~"
