@Char
I think you're right, DF Gajeel defeated Bradman kinda easily. As easily as how Laxus beat Wahl.
But Gajeel, DF or not, was still supposed to die from that, which is probably why i don't give him as much credit. He shouldn't have survived.

About Gray: he defeated Invel convincingly IN BASE. I genuinely don't think he can reproduce that kind of power without being moved by such strong emotions. Meaning that imo, we won't see Base Gray be that powerful again. In DeS mode that's possible though.
So i would rank Gray below DF Gajeel overall -- however your list mentions that you're considering Gray with the level of anger/emotions he had. That's why in your list, i would probably place Gray higher than DF Gajeel, since we saw Gajeel's powerup, whereas Gray was still in base and thus could have done even more.
If that makes any sense. I suck at those things anyway so that's just my opinion. I'm probably wrong. :P

Not biased, Gildarts has better feats. If Natsu was capable of doing the same I would still put him lower. Why? Gildarts can literally destroy all of Natsus spells, did you forget that?

Everything has a limit, if Gildarts casually busted one, he can sure as hell do things on a larger scale.

You literally contradicted yourself. If everything has limits, Crash must too. And yes you are biased, by exaggerating on everything Gildarts does or even giving him feats he doesn't possess or can't do like being FTL or pounding Serena in one shot.

I won't even try to reason with you because it's clear as day you'll never concede.

Can someone please explain the whole Gildarts argument and post all arguments for both sides?

Tl;dr Woodenstool is saying Gildarts is FTL, can dish out multiple mountain busting punches in an instant, can defeat all of the 12 including August and Irene and is the fourth strongest character in the series. Everyone else is either flat out denying it or ignoring her post.

When Gildarts slammed Serenas with his head, do you think Gildarts couldn't punch him instead?

I never contradicted myself, I said crash has limits. Gildarts casually destroyed a mountain, if he can do that, he can destroy a lot more if he tried. You learn the facts, you ignore the fact that Gildarts can destroy all of Natsus spells.

August's spells aren't mountains, butter knife durability, poor reaction skills.

Poor reactions=Slow speed.

Gildarts pounded Serena with one punch.
That was not Serena that was like 20% of Serena. And 20% Serena hurt Glidartz. Just look at his scratches. Read the chapter again please.

If 20% of Serena can hurt Glidartz, and 100% Serena can potentially beat Glidartz, I don't even want to know what the man you call butter knife durability can do to him.

@Takuan Yeah but Gajeel dying from this only shows a hax-ish technique from Bradman. I believe characters like Laxus or Gray would also be affected by that "deintegration" that Bradman uses as his last card; I don't necessarily believe it makes DF Gajeel weaker.

As for Gray, as much as I don't want to believe he'll use such a power without being triggered by any such sad event, I think we're naïve to think so; since it's rather clear Mashima's intention was for Gray and Natsu's portrayal to still be rather equal, in the sense that Gray could fight Natsu and still have a shot at winning. Whereas Natsu's feats are above Gray's (in the sense Natsu wasn't bloodlusted and two-shotted a spriggan, whereas Gray had to become bloodlusted to do so), they're still shown as equals. I believe he'll be able to use that power again at will... So he can already be considered a powerhouse on the level of Laxus...

Pre-ice lock Gray, even in DeS mode, is a tier below Invel indeed. You make a lot of sense actually.

He dodged lasers that move at light speed

Ice Trail was not created by Hiro Mashima. It's a spin off, therefore not canon. Hiro clearly hasn't really wanted Gildarts to be hax speed, which he's not...
Fairy Tail Wikia said:
Tale of Fairy Tail: Ice Trail (TALE OF FAIRY TAIL ICE TRAIL ~氷の軌跡~ (アイストレイル) Teiru obu Fearī Teiru - Aisu Toreiru), known as Fairy Tail Ice Trail in the English release, is a Japanese manga series by Yuusuke Shirato and a non-canon spin-off of Hiro Mashima's manga series Fairy Tail.

On the Gildarts stuff, honestly I haven't seen many speed feats from him in the manga to suggest he's that fast, and when it comes to canonicity, you really can only go from the manga, which is the most canon source we have. Anything like Ice-Trail is as the series has been deemed, a spin-off which instantly makes it non-canon. Ice-Trail not being written or worked on by Mashima definitely means it isn't canon too, what you'd see from Gildarts there is just another artist's view on what he could do, and doesn't have a shred of canonicity towards the actual Fairy Tail manga. Gildarts is more of a heavy-hitter than a speed-blitzing character anyway tbh.

In some cases, spin offs written by other authors have been deemed canon by the original author, such as Togashi deeming Ishida Sui's Hisoka origin one shot as canon. Hiro has not said that Ice Trail was canon

No, KoTsh and Ice Trail are both cannon, the story was written by Hiro by drawn by his assasint who writes Fairy tail.

Quit deleting my post because I'm correct. Gildarts has shown unbelievable speed feats in the anime. A casual arm swing from Gildarts is mountain+. Did you read the chapter called The winter Mage? Gildarts just punched the ground caused huge explosions.

He's probably going to fight Irene seeing how she's coming down to get some action and August is on our side.

It specifically says "written and illustrated" by Yusuke Shirato. Nowhere does it say that he's Hiro's assistant
Hiro was supervising that spin off, but not one source says that he said it was canon

I checked the wiki of "Gray synopsis" and the wiki didn't include Ice Trail part. And FT Zero was animated but Ice Trail was not.FT Zero was canon but if Ice Trail was canon it would have been animated. It's bit confusing here.

Anyone can edit the wiki, and just because it isn't animated doesn't mean it not cannon.

People have yet to disprove those lasers aren't lightspeed.

Do you have any link where it shows it to be canon?I am sure if it was canon it would have been animated and put in wiki like FT Zero which was canon and personally written by Hiro Mashima.

Use a search engine and add Reddit at the end on the question. Well unlike FT Zero, Grays introduction to the guild isn't that important.

That One Shot was almost closer to Instant Transmission than actual speed. It was as if he just blinked out of existence for a moment

Just stop. Natsu couldn't react to multiple blast from Zerefs army while Gildarts dodged multiple lazers that travel at light speed, all while holding Gray.

I agree with this, Bradman's suicide technique would catch 99% of opponents off-guard, it isn't that Gajeel is weak it's because Bradman's hax is immense. As for how strong DF Gajeel is, it's hard to gauge, he absolutely stomped Bradman in DF but we don't know how good Bradman's durability is. Personally I think DF Gajeel is >= Laxus, but if he's > Laxus it's only by a tiny bit.
