Zeref has lot of feats of speed.He could keep up with IgNatsu even though Igneel powered Natsu at first blitzed him.His speed is currently massively hypersonic +.

Dont really know how to compare that with other characters
I mean how fast is ignonatsu compared to laxus?
I have no way to compare.

As Natsu is powered by Igneel's power he should be much faster than Laxus.We have seen DF Natsu was faster than Jellal's meteor so Igneel powered will be much much more fast than any characters other than obvious God Tiers like Zeref or Acnologia.And in the end Zeref could keep up with that speed and at first blitzed him.

But still august is toying with jellal and racer right now.
So august could actually be faster than igno natsu. I want to wait for feats before actually making a comparison

Acnologia is the fastest due to sheer strength.

I'd assume August and Zeref can use magic that would increase speed, so they'd be up there. Irene's speed feat was decent. However I think Ajeel's movement would be sufficient to get out of the way. Laxus would definitely evade that. Jellal's meteor is faster than Laxus when he coats himself with lightning, but I would say Laxus transformed into lightning is >= Meteor. Basically if magic assists speed, they can become faster than people in their tier, but generally people in the same group are about as fast as one another.

But, Dragon Force is also something to consider. Imo DF Natsu will be faster than IgNatsu - who is faster than Zeref. DF Gajeel is likely faster than Laxus as well. This is due to the massive strength boost dragon physiology offers.

*I've ignored DiMaria. Technically she can cover the distance of her Age Seal in an instant. But because her body didn't move between A-B at an extraordinary pace, I just ruled her out.

I normally dont look at panels for time comparison. Because panels dont take same amount of time

Apart from Acnologia, Igneel is definitely the strongest dragon we know.

Acnologia engaged Igneel for quite a while. No way he isn't being serious until the end (the only time I believe Acnologia isn't serious is on Tenrou). All that happened at the end is both Igneel and Acno went in for the kill because they couldn't outfight one another, sacrificed their defence... one lost an arm the other lost a life. Well that's how I saw it anyways.

Hype train that is gonna go boom after a nakama speech

There was enough time for Irene to look down at it though. It was impressive to move out the way, but I think Laxus and Ajeel could achieve the same. I actually do expect Irene to be faster than both of them though, she should be able to enchant herself to become faster (up to Zeref/August level).

That panel would work if irene was moving ten times faster than laxus. She looked at the nuke extremely fast, other wont be able to do so.

It also works if irene is moving as fast as erigor. Nuke is extremely slow. She has alot of time to look down.

It basically goes down to how fast is the nuke and how fast is irene. There is no way to compare to others.
How i compare.
Irene is on a completely different level to serena
Shown by hype and the aconologia reaction to irene and completely ignoring serena.
And his desire to kill one ds vs his desire to kill three ds.
Also his expressions. One expression was something one has after stepping on an ant and another where he is actually enjoying himself

In short aconologia and irene event was on complete different level compared to aconologia and serena event

Thus nuke speed shouldnt be considerably below.
Thats why i dont think many could dodge it. Not even laxus
Otherwise serena could also give him some sort of entertainment

Yea you just have to make a guess how fast things are.

Acno's blast is definitely quick. Wall's bullets have slow motion panels to demonstrate they're very fast too. Ajeel was messing around with the Heaven's Wheel swords, and then dodge at sword slash a point blank.

To me, those situations require a similar amount of speed to dodge. If I had to choose, Laxus would be moving the fastest. Then Irene/Ajeel. It's a good feat for Irene, but I still think she can do better.

Igneel was half dead and was basically running on max to max 50%.If he was fighting on 100% in prime then Igneel might have won against Acnologia.

Why do you think aconologia put more effort in killing an ant than fighting irene?
I would also like to know, how would you argue in the future that acnologia future nukes are not evadable by likes of ajeel. I mean how would you classify any nukes from ancnologia faster than this, what would you require to classify it faster?

You can also compare this hades nuke to racer sneak attacking erza in the start of os arc. I certainly dont think that erza could dodge hades nuke. Even though she dodged racer quite easily

Same with acno nuke. Irene could look at it, just because she is that fast.
This of course is all based on the assumption that acno would put less effort in fighting someone, who he doesnt even acknowledge as compared to someone, who started to talk to immediately and had that insane laugh

Because Acnologia 'smells dragon'. It's not exactly an effort thing tbh, it's more about intent. Doing what he did against Irene and God Serena is a low-level effort for Acnologia.

Note: I am not saying Acnologia was very casual with Irene, just saying what he did to Serena was different to Irene.

I'd say the bullets are quicker, based on how Mashima drew them compared to the missiles. Kagura is a fast character, with notably good reaction time. Maybe as good as Laxus, but with his lightning he's definitely faster.

Ajeel dodged and moved around Erza rather quickly. If required he could have leapt 5-10m back, but he didn't have to because he's fighting Erza who is using a sword. Acno's blast had about a 5-10m radius, so the distance isn't really a big factor. (And on that point, I tend to prefer long distances of movement over short ones when judging speed).

Well it's showing Laxus' lightning beginning to crackle, Wall's bullets moving frame by frame, and Laxus disappearing. Overall I think it's slow mo'd so you can see what is happening in those instances of time.

And people really gotta stop bringing up August cause neither he nor Jacob were battle ready. The fact that one wasn't in his "god state" and the other had his hands in his pockets is proof of that. Acno could undoubtably blitz Jacob, but I doubt he could blitz August, whom is extremely fast himself.

I gave benefit of doubt to him and assumed that he dealth with jellal and racer at the same time. And thats why jellal was saying that

in real world example, laxus was in best positîon to evade any sort of attack. Standing is actually not a good position for jumping around.
As for whether he had a chance, i dont agree with this line of argument because then i have to say that maybe serena could also dodge if he had kept his mouth shut and focused on aconologia with battle intent.
I just dont give characters that benefit of doubt. Unless very specific circumstances

Reaction speed usually goes hand-in-hand with physical speed, unless there are specific feats that dictate otherwise.

Reacting to Racer is one thing, blitzing him is another. Jellal could react to and dodge Racer in base just fine (Tartarus arc) but he needed meteor to actually blitz him. August both reacted and blitzed Racer simultaneously. This was a Post-TS Racer at that, he definitely got stronger (though by how much we will probably never know). Thats one of the better speed feats in the entire series.

On Tenrou he had 3 Dragon Slayers within his reach, yet he still wasted time with Makarov, reason is probably just entertainment, Gildarts even recognized that Acno wasnt using the level of power on Tenrou that he was when he fought him solo, Acno is probably a lot more deadly when he is serious like with Serena, than when he is entertained like with Eileen.
