I have Irene as stronger than Motherglare, but weaker than a parent dragon. Wendy's dragon slaying magic coupled with Erza's sword was able to take Irene out of her dragon form. I believe Grandeeney would have dragon slaying magic as powerful as Wendy's, and brute strength comparable with Erza - if not greater.
thats because its an ass pull. hiding such a powerful move when the person really really needs it. but next day bangs it comes out of nowhere.
that is why natsu didnt use it against jellal.
or laxus didnt use red lightening in the start
or erza didnt use her meteor destroying slash to straight off kill ajeel.
pretty much the same reason base natsu now is above infinte power zeref.
you will never be able to reason it
doesnt look like it at all. gildart and cana both had a block up. there trajectory shows they were hit at the same time. and of course one swing
even if i agree metero august is faster than erza, its not by much.
what does actually defeating means here.
gildart did something. that feat alone means he can kill a high tier with that effort. defeating bluenote has nothing to do here. that just means he is alot stronger.
erza did same thing, why is that feat alone not as worthy as gildart feats. she used more of her power to accomplish this than gildart did to accomplish the same thing.
this is example of hypocrisy. trying to come up with stupid reasons to justify your bias.
basically a non bais person will say
gildart used 60% of his power to over power boss top tier move. thus he will need 60% of his power to kill a top tier.
erza used 90% of her power to over power boss top tier move. thus she will need 90% of her power to kill a top tier.
the bais fandom dont go like ezra has a chance lol
they go like erza has a chance against laxus. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
erza + mira + aconlogia vs laxus is a better fight
yes gajeel was said to be the strongest, just like nienhart was said to be equal to the strongest mage in ishigar.
so this all that makes something real
than you are right gajeel > aria
and nienhart > laxus
but if you remember aria was low diffing natsu. same natsu took out gajeel.
so how much one must believe in hype over feats?
Jura wouldnt defeat them easily, he wont defeat them period. his beating SO erza alone will be shocking accomplishment on his part
"Hype coming from Mira herself>hype coming from the king" says who?
"How did Erza tank an attack from Makarov+Gildarts etc then?"
she did not. azuma nuke had their powers (which is cannon). but not all of it was used in the nuke.
it just means that nuke was well above azuma tier. it was the only hit that nearly took erza out in a fight.
what do you want me to call them huh
giladrt does A, it means he can kill high tier
erza does A, its means a low tier can do it too.
nice try.
i infact dont believe in either.
as laxus vs wahl clearly shows. laxus aint taking out any normal springgan without a high diff fight
and human above erza can indeed stop dues sema, like august , natsu and gildarts
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---
let me tell me your logic
erza could not deal with sand world, thus she is weak. she indeed got no injuries from it.
aconologia indeed could not deal with U1, nor could he eat it.
by your logic irene > acnologia
"irene>invel. just like natsu>invel and laxus>invel"
lol no
irene >>> invel
natsu >>> invel
laxus> invel
or irene >> laxus for your understanding
so we are back to the same drawing baord, not being able to deal with a specific magic, does not equal weak.
laxus portrayal is one shot a springgan
erza portrayal is over power a move which will anihilate laxus + wahl at the same time
"also powerscaling is there laxus can bust that meteor with ragiing blot gildartz cana bust with crash magic. acno can bust that meteor with a casual roar we all know that they can but ur saying no because they didnt fight irene
show me that anco power feat>erzas according to ur logic"
power scaling does not mean giving feats of stronger mages to weaker mages. so laxus cant destroying deus sema anymore than lucy can red lightening kill wahl.
aconologia went through igneel remember.
find it your self, right after marin stop helping ajeel. ajeel ending up being blown in the ship.
- Acno, no context. Zeref accomplishment supercedes Acno, as did Dragon Queen Irene even though she probably wasn't meant to be as important as Acno. Acno was just wasted & worthless; ultimately a powerful fodder.
- Not sure what other power those 4 were meant to display. All were even more powerful than I originally thought they would become. For example, Zeref having complete dominance over time & space, Irene turning out to be the Dragon Queen, Acno immunity (even potent absorption) to conversational magic, August copying most magic. All these were overpowered, and there's no reason to actually downplay their power. Demonstration of power (or lack of) wasn't a factor, it was plot. The Hero were destined to take them down so they had to power-up to do so.
What's sad about Acnologia is not so much how he was taken out, but how he never really got to show much before he was taken out despite being billed as the greatest threat in the series. But arguably August had the shorter end of the stick, mainly by having much less panel time and plot relevance notwithstanding all the portrayal and the surprise origin story meant to shed light on his powers, the nature of which still remains unknown.
As for the question of downplaying, that occurs in subtler ways though, when, given that we aren't given enough info about what the four are fully capable of, we begin restricting the assumed scope of their powers, or minimizing the gap between what they have shown and what they presumably have left in store. This happens when one casts doubt on Irene's ability to transform stronger mages, or when one assumes August is unable to retain copied magic, and so on... The issue then is whether in the absence of decisive evidence one interprets their portrayal in an inflated or a deflated manner
Since the series is coming to an end, I thought "why not?" (This is list excluding the Gods)
Big 3"Dragon...Human... Immortal" (tier 0)
Natsu=> FH Zeref > Acno (canon)
Strongest race of beings (tier 1)
Igneel > Dragon Queen Irene => most elder/legendary Dragons
Legendary mages (tier 2)
August > Jr/ordinary Dragons (though August might not beat them due to Dragon physiology, I rank the diversity of his power higher)
Grand master mages (Tier 2)
Larcade (unique S12), Dragon born Erza
What's sad about Acnologia is not so much how he was taken out, but how he never really got to show much before he was taken out despite being billed as the greatest threat in the series. Early February, I wrote here that I was observing Acno regress to a class of a fodder character. I praised his intro by saying it was majestic but he had little to no substance as a final villain as his contribution so far has be negligible. He also wasn't connected to the development of the protagonists in any meaningful way, so I think Hiro would've found it very difficult to make Acno as relevant as he ought. It was simply too late in the game for Acno to shine as a FV imo.
It would've been fitting for FH Zeref to confront Acno & exchange words (& during this we'd get to find out more about Acno's existence) before Zeref finally eliminates him. At least we could've had an awesome fight or something. Maybe Irene should've even fulfilled that role as she was the Queen of all Dragons (even Acno disdainfully acknowledged her as such).
Yeaaaah... Well Acno was still supposed to be the ultimate invicible dragon that eliminate tons of dragons by himself and that nobody could stop 400 years ago. Requiring to send Dragon Slayers in the future to have a slim chance to deal with him and save humanity.
But in the end it felt like Mashima was like "oh shit, the manga ends and Acno is still alive, what do i do"
"I know, i'll just... hum... Create a time portal of some sort. If he goes through it he'll be erased."
"God im a genious. How to make him go through it though, huhhh thats tricky"
"I need something big to push him into it. That BP boat, it'll do."
"Acno is gone, fiouhh. Alright what about Zeref. Whatever im done, Natsu + PoF, the winning formula"

yeah 7 the seven Dragon Slayers was supposed to Defeat Acnologia with teamwork... but now seems like Natsu is wanked so hard that he probably defeats Acnologia alone...
sending the Dragon Slayers in the future was basically pointless and in vain...

Dragon slayers were never ment to figth Acnologia the parents dragons were. That plan failed in Tartarus arc when the dragons stopped face. The kids were only used as hosts for dragons.
Uh.. think you posted this in the wrong section.
They're all fodders anyway, at best Rogue/Minerva tier(which isnt too bad, but sadly irrelevant to FT main characters PL).
Hyberion, while most likely the most powerful and eldest of the lot, his magic doesn't seem particularly suited for combat. He seems to serve better in a support role, though he would probably give most wizards below Spriggan level a fair amount of trouble. He clearly got his position through politics, much like Jellal, Jura, Jose, and Warrod.
Wolfheim we haven't seen enough of. He seems like an OP version of Elfman. Nothing too impressive.
Warrod is also not suited for combat but as seen against God Serena and alongside Precht and Yury, he works well in a support role. Clearly designed for a team.
Jura, while being the most suited for combat, isn't on the level of the other three, and while their attacks are irrelevant against God Serena, they'd most likely have no problem whatsoever of disposing of Jura. Except maybe Warrod because earth and trees.
What are you guys final ranking of the spriggans? Now that they are all finish
