Then why did he link it to Zeref? Why did he take note of it's presence in Gray? Why does it have to be "awakened"? It's not PoF, it's closer to curse power. If you want to say all magic and Curses are PoF, therefore darkness is PoF too, then sure, I'll concede, it's as much PoF as Dragon Force is PoF.

Not if it was a Fairy Sphere type scenario, which i'm almost certain is the case. As for Gray's Darkness, it's already been awakened, he doesn't need to awaken it again.

He doesn't need to, Natsu is END.
That makes no sense. Why kill Makarov? Why kill Gray? Why drop their bodies at Natsu's feet? He just want to torture his little brother? Not likely. Zeref always thought END could kill him, and frequently tried to force that out of Natsu. He wanted a Lucy scenario. As for sending him away with Igneel, sure, that explains not awakening END in kid Natsu, not full grown Natsu.

I wouldn't, neither Gray nor Natsu had even started using named attacks yet, the fight wasn't close to concluding.
Ajeel injured Erza by attacking her, Natsu and Gray can replicate this. Ajeels attacks aren't outperforming either of them.
Kyria being able to cut anything is hyperbole and breaking Erza's shit is nothing new, even for Benizakura, not that Natsu, Gray or anyone else need to accomplish this to win a fight.
As for Erza being able to power through ENDs attacks, it is in question, and no, you don't need to be able to dish out more damage than Eileen, or break Erza's bones to beat her. Accumulated damage is a thing, eventually she'll just run out of strength, like against Neinhart. I mean there's no way the injuries she sustained from Neinhart added to the left over fatigue of a battle that happened the day before, which she also received healing for, is worse than broken bones, but there it is.

I didn't say Erza needed advantage to cut END, I only mentioned it on EIleen to illustrated Dragon Eileen>Erza.
As for DeS sword, I'm arguing Alvarez PLs, if you want to argue current Erza beats END, I agree.
Because Zeref is an example of someone who uses it. Invel didn't single out Gray as the only one having darkness. He literally said everyone has it. Who cares why it has to be awakened? He already said everyone has it. Magic and Curses are borne out of emotions, so you can say that all magic and curses are examples of POF. But darkness isn't comparable to dragon force. Dragon Force is an actual type of magic. Darkness is literally just an umbrella term for negative emotions. It's not a specific type of magic.

Again, Zeref never once said that END's power could kill him. He simply wanted Natsu to be mad enough so that he would fight him with all he's got. Quite frankly, even when Natsu thought Lucy died and END's power did come out, it wasn't anywhere close enough to being able to kill him.

Erza shrugged off all of Ajeel's attacks until he grabbed her by the neck (which he only managed to do by blinding her field of vision with sand world) and started sucking the water out of her body. She was pretty much fine until then. And yes, you do have to deal more damage than Irene to actually beat Erza. Ajeel beat Erza by sucking the water from her. The historia beat Erza by taking advantage of the fact that Erza was weakened, and having Kyouka torture her with her sensation curse. None of that translates to how Natsu or Gray would fight Erza. They would fight her by beating her over the head with attacks....So they need to be stronger attacks than what Irene tried, and failed, to put Erza down with. Erza already has feats of powering through END's attack. She blocked END's and Gray's attacks. Then she went on to fight Irene who hit her with even stronger attacks, and she powered through those too.

Dragon Irene is only superior to Erza because you must have dragon slaying magic to damage a dragon. Once you make Erza a dragon slayer, then she can smash Irene's strongest spell and then cut her out of her dragon form. This isn't an issue to begin with against END Natsu. Only his hands are demonized anyways. So it's not like there's going to be a major difference in how much damage Erza will deal if she lands on the body.

Guys this is Base Natsu vs Mira. END and Erza are irrelevant.

Zeref doesn't just use it, it is the root of his Black Magic.
Invel did single out Gray, he specifically noted the darkness seeping into Gray's heart. You ever heard that about PoF? The love seeping into peoples hearts? That love in someones heart was on the verge of release lol? I don't think so, because it's not PoF. Then there is also Invel mentioning it as a price of DeS magic.
I care why it has to be awakened, because it's yet another aspect distinguishing it from PoF.
Alright, not dragon force, darkness is comparable to second origin, unleashing hidden power and all that.
Oh and while i'm here, mind telling me the exact translation of what Invel says about darkness? It existing in everyone doesn't mean they can use it.

He doesn't need to. The narrative clearly wanted us to think that was within ENDs capabilities, or are you seriously trying to tell me that END wasn't portrayed as an enormous boost to Natsu? I remember half the forum thought after Zerefs defeat we'd see it again to beat Acno, were you not in that camp? I could be remembering wrong.
Or alternatively, it was foreshadowing how END would be awakened, because Zeref knows brutaliy killing a loved one and dropping it at Natsu's feet would trigger END. Oh and the END Lucy awakened definitely would have beaten Zeref imo. I'd say it's Natsu's strongest individual form, the only way he could top it would be by stacking DF with FDK.

So Ajeels choke is a oneshot ability? Not buying it, damage accumulation was how he injured Erza, dehydration is no more dangerous than getting burned to death. I should also clarify in saying that when I said you don't have to deal more damage than EIleen to beat Erza I mean you don't have to do it in a single attack. END doesn't need a bone busting attack, accumulated damage will do the job fine. You don't need EIleen level attack potency to beat Erza. Blocking an attack from END doesn't translate to enduring an entire battle with him lol. Gray took a punch to the face, don't mean he's confirmed the victor.

Dragon EIleen is superior to Erza because she's stronger, more durable, and has more magic power. Or are you saying Erza=August since she bypasses his immunity and only had issue with EIleen cause durable scales?

I'm sorry @Axiomus but I disagree with you on some of the points you mentioned.

1) Natsu used guild's power during the final attack against FH Zeref. There have been in fact more references to Natsu drawing power from his guild mark than there are about Natsu using his own PoF to muster an attack stronger than his Dragon Force. First of all , the guild mark on Natsu's hand starts glowing suggesting he's being powered by some external source :

Which has also been a sign in other cases when Erza and FT members were powered up by some external magic source , such as when Wendy enchanted them with DS attributes and Erza used Natsu's and Gray's enchantments against Laxus :

Plus Natsu references it as power of the guild just immediately after his guild mark starts glowing , and even Zeref references it as the guild's flame in the next chapter. It's possible that Natsu used his emotions to power his attack as well , but power of the guild was also used. You can in fact say that Natsu used power from the guild mark to fuel his Flames of Emotions to a very high level.

2) It's been implied that Zeref was expecting END at full power to kill him. That's why he was even so obsessed with Natsu , he was his masterpiece you can say , there's no reason for him to be after Natsu so much otherwise. What was he even going to get by getting Natsu fight him with all his might otherwise ? He was expecting Natsu to become strong enough to kill him right from Tenrou island. Even during his fight he says that he wants END specifically and not Natsu to defeat him , it would probably be part of the reason why he held back in his fight against Natsu , probably because he was expecting Natsu to turn to the full version of END. As for why Zeref didn't awaken END right away , it's possible that a weak Natsu could've suffered horrible backlash due to tremendous power inside the demon seed suddenly activating inside his body , that kind of phenomenon already happened to the Dragon Slayers where they went crazy and started experience motion sickness. The END that we saw after Lucy passed out wasn't completely transformed into the demon version. If it was then Natsu wouldn't have been able to become human again. He was partially demonized , just like Natsu's Dragon Force offers him partial dragonization. It's fully possible that the full version could've been able to kill Zeref.

3) How does Erza blocking one attack from Partial END and Gray translate to her being able to stomp them ? Blocking an attack from the enemy is standard in fights , were you expecting Erza to get oneshotted ? I've seen a lot of people calling BS on Erza blocking Natsu's and Gray's attacks but in my honest opinion this is just a result of grossly overestimating Natsu and Gray. They both were trading punches continuously in their fight and were able to fight even after taking many punches from each other , you can't expect Erza to receive significant damage from just one punch. Her hands were burnt by taking the brunt of the attack and imo this is an impressive feat. Plus her being covered in armor or her being naked doesn't make much of a difference. Her most important fights i.e. against Irene and Laxus were fought by her in Red Pants , and she could tank Laxus' attacks just fine , when her armor got shattered in one blow. And she's the only one in the guild who uses all this fancy armors anyway , her other guildmates can tank attacks with their bodies just fine , so imo the armors are nothing more than decorations.

Erza while drunk on PoF might cut through END Natsu for sure , but suggesting Normal Erza can slaughter him is erroneous.

He does take note that Gray has darkness seeping into his heart...but that doesn't mean he's the only person that can use it. POF has to be released too, to an extent. Or at least, that's basically what happened in the Phantom Lord arc when Erza told Natsu to release his powers (which was just POF). It's honestly not that different.

I am seriously trying to tell you that END wasn't portrayed to be an enormous boost to Natsu's power. Because it wasn't, and Natsu has better feats without END's power using Dragon Force and his flames of savage emotions. And yeah, I wasn't in the camp that thought END would return against Acnologia. Happened to be right too. It was destroyed like 3 times over with Natsu destroying the seed, Gray destroying it's power in Lucy, and Zeref's death destroying the book. I believe the END storyline was done and over with, and that the entire thing is over-hyped. Still do. Both dragon force and flames of savage emotions have proven to be vastly superior to END's power. FDK on it's own also has feats to rival any of END's attacks.

So wait, if you think Gray = END and END could have beaten Zeref, are you saying that Gray > Zeref?

Ajeel's choke is what dealt the vast majority of damage to Erza in their fight. Because she was fine and fighting up until that point. END has never actually managed to burn anyone to death (not even Dimaria, whom he probably would have wanted to kill). So without giving END feats that he doesn't have, what exactly can he do to put Erza down?

I get what you say about accumulated damage, but that's assuming that END's accumulated damage outweighs Irene's. And I don't think that's true in the slightest. Irene's one claw swipe does more damage than an entire onslaught of punches from END/Gray. By the time they catch up to the damage Irene can deal with one claw swipe, she'll drop a meteor and be waaaaaaaaaay ahead of them in terms of DPS. Besides, this is assuming that END would be the one racking up damage on Erza, and not the other way around. In an actual fight, where Erza isn't concerned about Natsu's safety, she would just block his punches with her sword. She wouldn't even get hit unless Natsu can smash her sword and get past her defenses.

Erza would be able to inflict massive damage to August, yes. He would probably get back up to finish her off once she's exhausted, like Irene did. Strictly speaking Irene defeated Erza by outlasting her after her dragon form was defeated. But make no mistake, Erza defeated Irene's dragon form. She soldiered through after the claw swipe, broke the meteor, and cut her dragon form down.

I'm sorry @Axiomus but I disagree with you on some of the points you mentioned.

1) Okay, but what exactly is the guild's power? Because Natsu isn't siphoning magic from everyone else. If you're saying that he's doing something similar to Fairy Sphere by converting their bonds into power, then fine....But that's still just a form of POF. It's just POF that involves the friendship that Natsu has with the guild.

2) I'll say it again: Zeref never once said that END's power could kill him. I'm not talking about interpretations or personal feelings. I'm talking about statements. I've gone out of my way to look for statements of him saying that END's power has the potential to kill him, and there simply isn't any. The plan that Zeref had in mind for Natsu to kill him was for him to get trained by Igneel and become strong enough to kill him. He probably wanted Natsu to become as strong as Igneel. This never actually wounded up happening. The only time where Zeref was actually confident in his chances of dying was when Natsu had Igneel's power. After that, Zeref basically stopped believing that it was possible for him to be killed. Zeref never wanted to fight END. He said that he wanted to fight Natsu, and not END, in Tartaros. Then he said he wanted to fight Natsu before he tried to kill Makarov. Then he said he wanted to fight Natsu again before he tried to kill Gray. You guys keep trying to tell me that the fact that Zeref wants to kill Gray/Makarov proves that Zeref wants to fight Natsu with END's power....except Zeref never says anything of the sort. The name coming out of his mouth is Natsu. It was really when the curse of contradiction started messing with his mind in the final battle that he started confusing Natsu with END....and that doesn't amount to much because he wasn't actually fighting END.

Now you could say that END was only partially demonized. But does that really matter? First of all, Natsu was pretty much as upset as he could get under the circumstances with Lucy's fake death. The only way Natsu could get more upset was if the entire guild died or something. Secondly, the seeds were actually killing him. If it wasn't for his rage boost keeping him going despite of that, Natsu would have simply been in a coma. Whose to say that the seeds don't just finish merging and make Natsu drop dead halfway through his fight with Zeref?

3) Erza didn't just block one attack from END. She blocked one attack from END, and then went on to tank several attacks from Irene's enchantments. Then she took an attack from Irene's dragon form that shattered all of her bones. Then she used her one good arm to propel herself towards the meteor and smashed it. Then she cut down Irene's dragon form. Blocking END's attack was the least impressive thing Erza did that day. It's everything Erza did after blocking END's attack that was impressive.

Here's a few more things to consider. First of all, not everyone of END's attacks is going to be as strong as the one he hit Erza with. He spent a good amount of time charging up that attack. Secondly....Erza doesn't have to block with her arms. Blocking with her arms is something that Erza only did because she was trying to stop them from hurting each other. If she wanted to hurt them, she could have just used her swords to cut them both. In a real fight, she would just block with her sword. Or better yet, match one of Natsu's punches with one of her slashes.... and win the exchange because she has proven to have superior attack power. I'm just pointing out that even if Erza uses the least efficient way to deal with END's attack, which is to try to block the attack barehanded, she can still take the attack and still have plenty of fight left in her.

And yeah, I am talking about Erza with POF. It's only fair. Gray was at the peak of his POF and END's power is also POF driven.

Sure, that's clearly distinguished from PoF, like curses you could say
No, he just singled out Gray as someone who had it seeping into his heart, making it clear that merely "having" it like any other human is different than Gray's situation. Then there is also him noting it as a price of DeS magic.
For Phantom Lord, was that PoF? No mention of it was made, Natsu just had more power he wasn't using. That power he got was also a permanent boost, not reliant on his feelings. I'm happy to call whatever that was similar to darkness, and similar to second origin.

Uhuh, so the whole thing with Brandish going "That tumor has become so powerful that my magic doesn't work on it" and Dimaria going "OMG, stronger than me, stronger than the gods, beyond time" absolutely traumatized by its awesome power, wasn't Mashima portraying END as a colossal source of power? Alright buddy, whatever you say.

I think END has something special that would let him slay Zeref, similar to Igneel's dead flames thing. But I also think lots of people could beat the shit out of Zeref without killing him, Darkness Gray is on that list.

His choke was as effective as it was because of the damage accumulated. Ramal Sayf would have been the spell that killed her, but I'm not labeling that above Sand Tsunami or something, damage accumulation is important.
So? Ajeel has never actually dehydrated anyone either, he couldn't even wrinkle Erza's skin a bit.

Yes, that is the assumption, and I'm not necessarily saying that END does rack up that damage, but he's not going to be that far off, which is why Erza aint slaughtering him in any sense of the word, she's leaving the fight worse off than against Ajeel. As for breaking the swords, it's not a prerequisite to hurting Erza, in fact it doesn't even really provide an advantage based on her previous fights.

So you're saying August>=Erza, is that correct? If that's the case I think we just have a vastly different view of her PL

No, he didn't. Invel said that darkness was inside everyone. You can hear it for yourself in the Japanese. Or listen to the dub, which says basically the same thing. Gray is not even the first person to use darkness apart from Zeref. Hades was talking about darkness way back on Tenrou Island.

I didn't say END wasn't powerful. Just not more powerful than what Natsu can achieve with his own power. Natsu has better feats with Dragon Force and his flames of emotion. Dimaria being traumatized by END's power is nothing comapred to Natsu overpowering Fairy Heart Zeref. Brandish's magic also doesn't work on enchanted Neinhart....So being immune to Brandish isn't that impressive. Zeref exchanged blows with Igneel's power. Gray or Natsu with END's power wouldn't even do as much damage as Igneel's power did.

Ramyl Sayf wouldn't have killed Erza. She tanked it, and launched an attack of her own. Then Ajeel grabbed her by the neck and started draining her with dehydration. I won't say that Ramyl Sayf did no damage to Erza, but Erza has shrugged off far stronger attacks than it. The drain was what really did a number on her, and it's something that neither Gray nor END's power can really replicate.

Yes. I believe Erza can do to August what she did to Irene. At the peak of her POF, Erza managed to give Irene an extreme difficulty match. She soldiered through her dragon claw, broke her meteor, and then cut down her dragon form. Irene only got the better of Erza towards the end by having slightly better endurance. That's why I say Erza would slaughter END. Erza broke deus sema and cut Irene out of her dragon form after Irene smashed all her bones. END isn't even going to smash Erza's bones in the first place. He's going to have to deal with a fully functional Erza the entire fight, and he won't be able to gimmick her with hax like others sometimes do. I mean, the bottom line is that Erza has better feats against Irene than END has against Gray. So something's gotta give, and I ain't about to say Gray > Irene.

Darkness being inside everyone doesn't translate to everyone getting power from it. Invel took specific note of it seeping into Gray's heart, seeping into the heart =/= simply being inside you.
Hades was using Devil Power. Zeref is the creator of Etherious, Gray's is a price of DeS, Curses have the same description as Darkness, noticing a trend?

Fairy Heart Zeref feats were because he got power from the guild.
Wait, weren't you the one that said the enchantment boost Neinhart got from Eileen was likely greater than the total of his own magic power? Receiving Spriggan MPx2 isn't impressive to you? Alright, can't say it really impresses me either, but the portrayal as an enormous boost is still there.
Igneels power? You actually think that boosted Natsu's strength? What happened to better feats with Dragon Force and Flames of Emotion? Hell, base Natsu did almost as well, Darkness Gray and END would do better.

Oh, by Ramal Sayf I meant that Sand Axe Ajeel was going to use to cut off Erza's head, Ramal something or other, I'm not going to call that attack strong just because it would have killed Erza after all the accumulated damage, same goes for the choke. Oh and END/Gray>>Ajeel, so they easily outperform the choke, not that I consider the choke particularly strong.

Then we simply disagree. I don't consider Erza Augusts equal, I think August vs Erza alone would result in a mid diff win for August. I think Erza vs Eileen without Wendy would result in a mid diff win for Eileen. Smashing the meteor is good, but it don't make her Eileen level, i wouldn't call Shiki Genesis level either.

Again, Invel literally says that it's a source of power that everyone has. It's just another way of saying negative emotions, and everyone has the potential to tap into those emotions. It's just uncommon, because people tend not to be full of negative thoughts all the time. The dragon seeds are made of darkness too. In Natsu's case, his darkness was his doubt over his humanity.

Well no. I don't think 2x the power of a Spriggan is that impressive. Particularly Neinhart, whom Natsu stomped. I don't think Igneel's power is stronger than Dragon Force or Flames of emotion. However, Igneel's power had better feats than END's power or Gray. It also has better hype, being the only thing that Zeref truly acknowledged as having the potential to kill him. And no, Gray isn't going to do as well as Igneel powered Natsu against Zeref. What is this?

Sure, Ramal Faas might not be a super strong attack. But Erza was already at Ajeel's mercy at that point. My point is that Ajeel dealt most of his damage against Erza by grabbing her by the neck and dehydrating her. This is something that Natsu/Gray can't replicate. I mean they can choke her....but it'll just be a regular choke. They aren't going to be able to drain her like Ajeel did. Mind you, the only reason Ajeel even managed to choke Erza is because he blinded her with sand world, also something that END/Gray aren't replicating.

Erza feats against Irene are what they are. Erza didn't just smash the meteor. She also did this.
And sure, Wendy enchanted her sword with dragon slaying magic. But this isn't an issue against people who aren't dragons in the first place. Besides Erza has a bunch of enchanted DS swords now. She's even got an enchanted devil slaying sword, though I honestly don't think she'll need that to beat END. Anyways, unless August has significantly better durability than Irene....I don't see why she wouldn't give him a big cut like she did to Irene.

I didn't say that the enchantment boost Neinhart got from Irene was greater than his own power. I said Irene's deus sema had more MP than Neinhart. I don't think Igneel's power is stronger than Dragon Force or Flames of emotion. However, Igneel's power had better feats than END's power or Gray. You think Gray is as strong as Igneel powered Natsu.

The fact remains her feats against Irene are what they are. She can overpower an attack on deus sema's level, and she can deal enough damage to cut down Irene's dragon form. Erza didn't just smash the meteor. She also did this.

Yes, but not a source of power that everyone uses, or else whats the point of it seeping into Gray's heart and awakening it? Yeah, gonna go ahead and say that "Seed of darkness" was just another way of saying seed of evil, not an actual reference to dark power. Like I said, darkness is specifically noted to be related to Zeref's black magic and a price of Gray's DeS magic, it's not the same as PoF.

No I'm pretty sure you did say Neinharts enchantment was greater than his own MP
Sure. But still I think it's entirely possible for August and Irene to have attacks with more magic power than Neinhart himself has. In fact, I think that the enchantment Irene put on Neinhart by itself has more MP than Neinhart has alone.
Igneel's power doesn't have better feats than END, in fact it's feats are barely better than base Natsu's. I think END is as powerful as IgNatsu, which by extension puts Darkness Gray in the same ballpark.

I disagree. Like I said before, death by dehydration is no more dangerous than getting burnt to death, END and Gray are both far stronger than Ajeel, so they can replicate it. You also dont need to blind Erza to hit her.

I wouldn't call it overpowering Deus Sema either. Shiki was less than a third of Genesis' strength, he required two stronger allies and Genesis' power to be nullified in order to defeat him. I think it's fair to say that in Mashima's mind, intercepting the meteor before it hits you is a strategic counter to the spell, similar to how dodging or blocking would be the counter to less... sizable spells. As for the slash, like I said before, DS advantage, and by advantage, I mean advantage, as in deals damage outside your weight class. Dragons aren't immune to magic, they are simply durable, and that durability is an aspect of Eileen's strength like anyone elses durability, no different than Laxus no selling Kyria's roar, or Madmole no selling Demolition Fist. I also think Erza's weapon became DS Sword Belserion tier when Wendy enchanted it with her power, so even against normal foes, Erza was amped in that situation

But everyone can use it. They just have to tap into their negative emotions. Evil and darkness are two separate words. There's nothing inherently evil about the dragon seed anyways. And Invel specifically goes out of his way to say that darkness doesn't have to be evil. Again, it's just negative emotions.

Perhaps I did, but anyways....That still doesn't make resisting Brandish' magic all that impressive. Same Neinahrt got stomped by regular Natsu.

If you think END and Gray is as powerful as IgNatsu, then we truly have nothing to say. Igneel powered Natsu's feats are far better than base Natsu's. They're actually far stronger than FDK Natsu's feats (same cannot be said for END's power), with the one exception being flames of savage emotion's demolition fist. Which by the way, was an FDK spell. No idea why you're saying base Natsu has feats comparable with IgNatsu.

We've already seen Erza blocked END's all out attack, and she didn't get burned to death. So why are we pretending that END can dehydrate her like Ajeel can....When he lack the specific type of magic to perform such a feat? Heck, the only reason Ajeel managed to grab Erza by the neck was because of the advantages sand world provided. If Natsu tries to grab Erza's neck, he's just going to get his arms cut.

Like I said, Erza didn't just smash deus sema. She turned around and cut down Irene's dragon form. Shiki didn't cut down deus sema. Just a regular Sema. Unlike Erza, he couldn't actually do anything to Genesis until the girls took away Genesis' power. All Erza needed to cut down Irene was some dragon slaying magic. Which she now has. The girl's got like 3 different dragon slaying swords now, so I don't even know why that's an issue. Plus a devil slaying sword for extra overkill if she ever has to fight a demon.

Everyone has it, not the same as everyone using it. Darkness seeping into your heart isn't an immediate thing, you don't just get a burst of negative emotion and a boost of power when the chips are down. It developed in Gray for over a year. So no, it's not just negative emotions, negative emotions feed it, but the process of gaining power from it isn't just "I'm angry, gimme power", Natsu gets pissed all the time. Gray's Darkness was already on the verge of release at the beginning of the fight, it's not PoF. I also didn't say Darkness has to be evil, I said it was the price of DeS.

So to be clear, you don't think having double spriggan MP, along with the fighting ability of Natsu, impressive? Alright.

How are IgNatsu's feats better than base Natsu's?

I'm not saying a single attack from END is greater than the accumulation of all Ajeel's damage, so why are we pretending that's the case? I'm certainly not saying that a single attack from END that was blocked, is greater than the accumulation of all Ajeel's damage. Natsu also doesn't need to grab Erza's neck to deal damage.

You're missing my point. To put it in perspective, I think Erza's feat of slashing Dragon Eileen with her Wendy powered DS sword is the Alvarez equivalent of Gray shooting Mard Geer with Zeroth Destruction Bow. And I think of smashing Deus Sema as the Fairy Tail equivalent of Shiki smashing Sema in HERO'S. That's how I see Erza's strength compared to Eileen, roughly similar to Shiki and Gray's strength in comparison to their respective foes. So not August tier, not Dragon Eileen tier, but more or less human EIleen tier.
And again, Alvarez Erza, ALVAREZ, not current. I already said that I think current Erza beats END.

Sure. In the same way everyone has emotions, but not everyone is good at using POF. Much of the same can be said about regular emotions and POF.

I don't think having double the MP of a Spriggan with Natsu's fighting prowess is as impressive as DF or Flames of Savage Emotions. No.

I'll show you why IgNatsu is better than END. This is END's all out attack and Gray's attack. Easily blocked by Erza. Barely does anything to compromise Erza's fighting ability. She does everything she did to Irene with the hand she used to block END's attack.
This is Natsu sending Zeref through a cliff. Then he burns away Zeref's magic. Then he lays a beating on Zeref.
This is the aftermath of FDK mode attack. Zeref telling Natsu that he is truly impressed by this power. Both Natsu and Zeref seem confident that Natsu's next shot can kill him. So what we're talking about is the difference between getting blocked by Erza....and smashing Zeref through cliffs and almost killing him.
As for base Natsu? Well that's easy. Zeref after fighting base Natsu for a while, flat out said that he's weaker.

Look. Natsu/Gray can't throw up sand world to blind Erza, and they can't grab Erza's neck and drain her directly. That's how Ajeel dealt the majority of the damage to her in their fight. If Natsu and Gray want to damage Erza, they're going to have to try to beat her over the head with their attacks. In which case, they're going to hit harder than Irene did....who also tried to beat Erza over the head with attacks. Hitting harder than Ajeel's ramyl sayf, or even ramyl faas....doesn't help them win against Erza. She's tanked attacks far stronger than Ramyl Faas, and has been fine.

Gray needed Natsu to give him time to recover from Momento Mori, and take the attention off himself. Erza literally propelled herself with all her bones broken towards the meteor, and then back down on Irene. The only thing Erza needed from Wendy was an enchantment on her sword. The rest is all Erza. As for Shiki...well, they couldn't even do anything to Genesis until the girls destroyed Oasis. So yeah, I guess Shiki destroyed the a sema from Genesis. But he wasn't able to turn around and cut Genesis out of his Jellal form.

I mean, Alvarez Erza that fought Irene is stronger than current Erza because she was more amped on POF. But okay. Excluding the POF amps, the only difference between Alvarez Erza and current Erza is that current Erza knows how to enchant her own swords.

This is the very first punch Natsu hits Zeref with. It sends him crashing through a cliff. Then he burns away Zeref's magic. Then he lays a beating on Zeref.

Uhuh, except for it taking a year of it seeping into your heart and then releasing it before it can be activated and it's relation to DeS and Black magic. Vastly different from PoF.

If you say so.

Oooh, not bad, IgNatsu's better than I remember, seems he absolutely dominated Zeref, the punching Zeref through a cliff thing is pretty meaningless, but other than that you got some good panels. Alright, you've convinced me, IgNatsu>Base Natsu due to the domination. Back to my point, I was saying that I think END and Dark Gray would do significantly better than base Natsu against Zeref, because I consider them above Base Natsu. You can rank that however you want in comparison to IgNatsu, I don't really care, cause IgNatsu>Zeref.

Not seeing a reason why they need to do either of those things, they're both far enough above Ajeel to outdamage him.

Still missing my point dude. Erza cutting Dragon Eileen doesn't make her Dragon Eileen tier in the same way Gray damaging Mard, doesnt make him Mard tier. You can squibble about the details of how Gray managed to land the hit, but that's not what I'm talking about, I'm talking about the damage, which I thought was what you were talking about too. If we're talking about endurance feat, I'm seeing nothing that suggests Natsu distracted Mard longer than Eileen's little speech about Master enchant, it's not like she went and tried to step on Erza immediately after, she seemed to have about as much time as Gray, assuming Gray even needed rest, rather than just trying to outsmart Mard.
Similarily Erza breaking Deus Sema doesnt make her Eileen tier in the same way Shiki breaking Sema doesn't make him Genesis tier.

Oh no, I consider current Erza stronger than Alvarez Erza, by a factor close to the difference between Tartaros Erza and Alvarez Erza. I also don't put that much stock in PoF these days, aside from Fairy Sphere-like occurrences I've gone back to the mindset of earlier Fairy Tail.

No, he said it's a power that anyone can possess, not a power than anyone has or can access. so sounds to me like it's not an inherent ability to everyone.
Erza already has feats of powering through END's attack.

That's why I say Erza would slaughter END. Erza broke deus sema and cut Irene out of her dragon form after Irene smashed all her bones.
And again, Alvarez Erza, ALVAREZ, not current. I already said that I think current Erza beats END.

You know shit is serious when they start using caps, italic and bold font. :teehee

I can imagine them saying those words with stronger enunciation in my head :derp

If we're talking about endurance feat, I'm seeing nothing that suggests Natsu distracted Mard longer than Eileen's little speech about Master enchant, it's not like she went and tried to step on Erza immediately after, she charged a spell

It doesn't take a year. The way Invel got Gray to release his darkness wasn't by waiting for him for a year. It was to kill Juvia and trigger his emotions. Darkness isn't exclusive to devil slaying magic, or Zeref's power. Invel literally said it's a source of power available to everyone.

Sure, END might do better than base Natsu against Zeref. But base Natsu was losing to Zeref. I'm saying that END is weaker than DF Natsu and Flames of Savage Emotions. Also Zeref, who took shots from IgNatsu.

I'm talking about their overall performance. Gray's performance against Mard would only be equivalent to Erza if he overpowered Momento Mori and then cut down Mard, and the only help he needed to perform that was receiving Silver's power. If Irene smacks Gray, he's not getting back up to smash her meteor. Neither is END. Not that they have the feats to suggest they can pull it off in the first place, because their attacks were stuffed by Erza. Erza breaking the meteor alone doesn't put her on Irene's level. But the fact that she turned around and cut down Irene's dragon form proves that she gave Irene an extremely difficult fight. By definition, that is her defeating Irene's dragon form.

Why such a huge leap? And you don't think Erza had significant POF boosts during the Alvarez Arc? Well then that's just her normal strength. I mean, now she definitely slaughters END or Gray. Not just because of what she did against Irene, but because of this:
I happen to think Erza got progressively stronger as the arc went on because she got more emotional, but if you're saying Erza can consistently pull stuff like this off....END won't even touch Erza.

It doesn't matter anyways. Current Erza solos END and PoF Gray.

Alright. Apart from the first point , you convinced me. I'm not convinced with the first point is because his guild mark was specifically shown glowing which only has ever happened when the guild members got boosted by some external source so I'm not fully convinced Natsu can pull it off whenever he likes.

What makes you say Alvarez Erza is stronger? That makes no sense from where I’m sitting. Another year of missions and active training and she hasn’t surpassed herself, when we see the kind of jump they have in a year’s training? I mean even if you argue she trains worse in a group and only grew half as much as last time. It still puts her a magnitude beyond where she was. I’m gonna follow regular shounen logic, unless otherwise stated, last arc’s big moments are the new status quo. An it doesn’t hurt she did that while all fucked up.
