5 minutes is a long time. Thats high diff right there.

No seriously though, the gray that stomped invel isnt gonna get low diff by laxus. Though laxus might win
Personally i think
pof laxus > darkness gray (high diff)
5 minutes of just kicking his ass:cheez.

If Laxus is being serious, most likely 30 seconds.

I think he means Igneel flames (which is FDKM)

Assuming you mean FDK Natsu, I'd put him above Laxus as well. And yea, Gray has been treated like shit in the sequel. I had Gray above even Laxus in original series, but now tho, lmao.
Which never made sense. Gray lacks the pedigree to be that high. He slick didn’t have what he needs to be above Mira and the sequel confirmed it. Certainly not above Laxus.

exactly, so why would we put laxus above say gajeel or gray. all these people needed pof and cis to win
That’s FT for u By that logic all the save 7DS> gray they all tanked acno attacks 💁🏾‍♂️
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Not based on beating Invel (I mean, stomping Invel is impressive, but Laxus stomped Wahl too), based on stalemating partial END. Normally Gray is fodder (I mean, out of the relevant powerhouses among good guys, he's probably the weakest), but the new mode he got put him at that level.

I'd actually put Gajeel also >= Laxus, IF what he got is DF. Think about it. Base Gajeel ~ 80-90% base Natsu. If his DF gave him anywhere close to the powerup that it gives Natsu, think about how strong Gajeel would be, If it's not DF, then I wouldn't put Gajeel anywhere close to Laxus
FDKM is on Laxus tier, >= is my opinion. He gave the vibe that his FDKM was unstoppable (he basically one shotted everyone he used FDK attacks on, but considering half the Spriggans got one shot, idk lol).

Wahl's advantage became disadvantage when Red lightning appeared, since it bypassed immunity and has some corrosive properties which are bad for machines.

Erza didn't stop them casually. She almost crumbled her hands in doing so, while END and darkness Gray were trading blows for several minutes

This would be my list:
Natsu (DF)
Gildarts
partial END / darkness Gray
FDKM Natsu/ Laxus/ Jellol / DF Gajeel
Erza
ISM Gajeel
Mira (plutogrim)
regular DeS Gray
--- Double Post Merged, ---

Yea, darkness Gray >> current Gray IMO

Skullion is gonna get rekt if there is a rematch, cause Mashima gives zero Fs about consistency. Realistically, Gray should get stomped again unless he gets a major powerup
--- Double Post Merged, ---

Well, I don't even want to consider that legit lol. FH Zeref easily handled full power DF Natsu's attack, but got one shotted by a FDK punch? :feelsgoodman. I mean, if we consider that feat legit, FDK Natsu one shots anyone in the series bar high tier dragons
(also, wasn't it "flames of wild emotion" or some shit, which destroyed Zeref in the end? Is that "guild flames" or fire dragon king flame?)

Probably not. IMO, when Natsu was END, his demonic side took over. The seeds came to a balance and he collapsed when Natsu suppressed his demonic side. That's the "dilemma" here. His illness was caused by his uncertainty, which lead to different sides competing for control. Does Natsu want to be a demon, or a dragon? What does he choose? When he was END, he obviously was instinctively leaning towards demonic side. When he chose human, both seeds died.
i.e, he would be fine if he chose anything, as long as he's not wavering. If he chooses demon, he fully turns into END. If he chooses dragon, he becomes a fire dragon. If he chooses human, he stay as he is. If he chooses nothing, the competing forces destroy each other and Natsu dies. This is my interpretation.
What do you think?
End isnt that impressive giving that erza was able to stop then both and was slatmating gray. Yes it was causal Erza getting damage isn’t that much a big deal knowing that erza is a tank plus she was ok cuz she was able to fight irene. By ur logic ur saying that gray and end>dragon irene because erza was able to survive dragon irene claw and busting a meteor. If u beleive that then I don’t what to say then. In alavrez base natsu was a tier higher than gajeel natsu was in a different level and he till is. base gajeel isn’t oneshot any spriggan except maybe nienhart. Laxus almost oneshot gajeel while des gray spell Was getting laughed off by ajeel. come on now. Exactly once laxus used RL wahl was oneshottable we all know that without wahl immunity the fight would have been over in fact wahl admires that he base form couldn’t beat base laxus hence why he went assault mode. DF gajeel at best in on base laxus level and that’s me being generous. The feat natsu form in FDKM is what laxus can perform also. Base laxus>=fdkm natsu bro

Jellal stop an ancologia attack
The attack did almost crumble her arms, while they were trading attacks for several minutes. Erza stopping an attack while taking significant damage doesn't diminish them in anyway, since Erza is a tank, like you said. Not sure why you're saying casual Erza, Erza was very serious about stopping their fight.

She went onto fight Eileen later, sure. For that, I'd say:
- There is Wendy, who can heal even dead people
- When has injuries mattered in FT lol. I mean, it's certainly worse than fighting fresh, but you're overestimating the nerf FT characters get from being injured

Ehh, no. Dragon Eileen blocked Erza's bones with that attack. Natsu and Gray only almost crumbled her arms

Not sure what mean with that Gajeel point, I don't get exactly what you mean. I disagree that base Natsu is a whole tier above base Gajeel. In 100YQ, we saw that ISM Gajeel gave LFD Natsu a high-extreme diff. This means, ISM Gajeel is in LFD Natsu tier, and hence base Gajeel is in base Natsu tier

Ehh, a few other factors played a role in Wahl getting one shot:
- Wahl wasn't on guard since he assumed immunity. He was also malfunctioning because of some program error
- RL is (IMO) super effective against Wahl because of it's corrosive property
Wahl was trading blows with Laxus, and holding his on in physical combat. Immunity helped in damage reduction of course, but fact still remains that Wahl was holding his own in speed, physical strength, attack power etc. He was able to damage Laxus. IF we remove immunity/super-effective/CIS all together, IMO Wahl would give Laxus a low-mid diff (leaning towards mid). And of course we're talking about only assault mode Wahl here.
I mean, you do acknowledge that there is a massive difference between Laxus' Wahl fight, and his Kyria fight, right? Kyria couldn't even put a scratch on Laxus with her offence, while Wahl was able to hurt Laxus.

Why would he be, at best, only at base Laxus level? This is DF we're talking about here. In fact I'm being very charitable here, saying it would be in Laxus tier and not higher (partly because it's largely featless).
And again, we don't know if it truly was DF. What I'm saying is under the assumption it is.

This is almost my exact list, if we exclude temporary modes (like darkness for Gray, DF Gajeel, etc).
Is there any particular reason you have Gajeel below Gray and Mira?

Makarov would be Elfman level or just below I guess.

Yea lol, DG hype has been working wonders so far :derp

Nobodies gonna be surprised because the entire sequal has been building to that fight. None of this addresses your erroneous suggestion that Gray is somehow weaker now than he was. We’ve been shown that everyone has new techniques and spent some time training in the year since Alvarez.
Dude, I already agree that regular Gray is fodder lol. I'm talking about that one mode of Gray ("darkness" ?), which he can't use willingly as far as we know

what im saying is erza taking their attacks proves to me that they both till below laxus. what i mean causual it didnt phase erza at all. and imo erza>both end and darkness gray.
erza didnt healed by wendy reread the chapter again after she stop natsu and gray. irene immediately stepped in.

i was talking about in alavrez arc base natsu>base gajeel
if ur talking about now then base natsu>= base gajeel. remember natsu wasnt even using any FDK spells we all know that fdkm>ldkm>base

wahl was on guard what u mean? he just assumed that he could tanked laxus attack and guessed wrong.
laxus had cancer and wahl even mention it. we all knew laxus wasnt in 100% to begin with. without the immunity it would have been a low diff. with it laxus would have ended it eariler it was he was trying trick wahl into canceling his magic particles so yall ur right i guess mid diff. wahl best hits came from when laxus cancer got worse.

because i dont see bradman=wahl wahl>bradman.
his feats are below wahl.'
and my question is what make u think that df gajeel is above or at least on laxus tier?
and indicator was the fight against acno gajeel was extremely impressed that laxus got "hit" acno.
gajeel hasnt done anything so far other than slatmating base natsu that wasnt serious just using regular fire spell.
darkness gray and df gajeel didnt prove to me that they are on laxus tier. only erza has and none of them is on her level.

It's not that Gray was weak against some ice mage, it's that Invel was OP and one of the few Spriggans that powerwise didn't disappoint.

If I remember correctly, wasn't it Invel who had the elemental advantage in that fight? He said something like that himself when he explained that he uses ice but not "ice make".

Gray is a slayer. Not only does he have resistance to the cold, but he can eat ice.

Slayer gives advantage over demons, not over ice mages.

Since Invel doesn't use ice make, but rather "pure cold", he didn't produce ice for Gray to easily eat.

Being a slayer means he can eat his element.

That's proves my point as to Invel being superior.

Gray can eat ice, not cold, and that's if he can eat it. Has any demon slayer or demon eaten any element in the series so far? It could work different to dragon and god slayers.

Invel is superior. I also said that in my post. My point is that Invel isn't superior because Gray is a weakling, but because Invel is OP.

I don't know what "cold" is but Invel uses ice magic. His is just really really cold. Yes, we've seen Silver eat Gray's ice.

Cold is a temperature drop. Gray cannot eat a drop in temperature, and despite his high resistance to it, he's not entirely invulnerable to cold, no matter how resistant he is to ice.

Invel is an ice mage that focuses on generating cold rather than simply ice.

The way that Invel froze Gray's own ice and Natsu's flames back then simply mean that Invel and his magic were stronger than both of them back then. It's just like back at the Phantom Troupe when that fire mage was able to manipulate Natsu's fire simply because he was stronger than him (and lost the ability to do so mid fight because of one of those sudden power growth-spurs of Natsu).

Cool, so we agree.
We do, I only intended to emphasize respect on Invel.

It's funny, if Gray needs that much PoF just to be stronger than Laxus who was dying of cancer, so be it. Shows that Laxus is far superior anyways.

Well no one is entirely immune to their element. Natsu can be burned and Laxus can be electrocuted, he just has high resistance to it. My original point was Gray's fight isn't superior because he almost lost to an ice mage.

I'm assuming you mean Phantom Lord (Damn I miss HxH) but Totomaru wasn't stronger. Natsu was stronger than Gajeel who is above the Element 4.

That is under the assumption that Invel = Wahl, but Invel was one of the Spriggan that didn't disappoint powerwise,

Wahl did disappoint. Wahl only lasted for as long as he had complete nullification of Laxus element. The moment he became vulnerable to Laxus magic he simply died in one hit.

That being said, I do believe Laxus was stronger than Gray back then, but it cannot be proven by comparing those two fights without making up how Invel's power relates to Wahl's.

Even if Invel is above Wahl, there isn't a massive gap between them. Plus, we can judge the circumstances around that fight.

Oops, sorry, wrong Phantoms. :XD

Totomaru seemed to be stronger than Natsu for the first half of the fight, by the way he both controlled Natsu's fire and beat his ass effortlessly, until midfight Natsu just powered up, gained full control of his fire and destroyed Totomaru (and then went on to kick Gajeel's ass).

About element resistances, I guess it's true that Gray gained magical resistance to cold temperatures when he became a slayer (his original ice make magic didn't provide him much resistance to it since Ur had he had to train his body to become accostumed to low temperatures rather than the magic giving him immunity), but Invel was clearly even more resistant to cold than he was. Invel was just an ice mage stronger than an ice slayer, and so the strongest basic ice magic user in the series by a big margin.

Even if Invel is above Wahl, there isn't a massive gap between them. Plus, we can judge the circumstances around that fight.
Wahl was strong since he could fire etherions and all that, but he didn't last a single second without element immunity. His performance was deplorable.

If we take into account the facts that you support: Gray's immunity to Invel's element and Gray's ability to just eat Invel's element to recharge his strength, then the implication is not that Laxus > Wahl = Invel > Gray, but rather that Invel >> Gray with an unknown correlation to Wahl and Laxus.

Gray's strength was already cemented as quite beastly since the previous arc, yet a character who supposedly should be disadvantaged against him (Although Invel claimed it was the other way around) gave him the hardest fight in the series, and that just implicates that Invel was a proper overpowered Spriggan like they were supposed to be, something that Wahl wasn't.

But that's all of Natsu's fight if were being honest. Lose then turn things around mid fight and win.

Yea that' what I meant. Invel was superior to Gray basic or DeS and the latter needed PoF. Apologies if it seemed like I was going in circles..

Wahl was strong since he could fire etherions and all that, but he didn't last a single second without element immunity. His performance was deplorable.

But there's also Laxus who had cancer and was fighting someone who he was explicitly advantaged. He also went on to fight historia Hades after. My argument is that Laxus had a better arc.

Gray's strength was already cemented as quite beastly since the previous arc, yet a character who supposedly should be disadvantaged against him (Although Invel claimed it was the other way around) gave him the hardest fight in the series, and that just implicates that Invel was a proper overpowered Spriggan like they were supposed to do, something that Wahl wasn't.
But Gray's strength was hard to compare to others after Tartaros because he seemed so beastly against demons, not humans.
