The Spriggan 12 has gotten so underrated at this point especially when they are way better than any group of antagonist introduced in this sequel.

Spriggan 12 fanboys have negative digit IQ. You guys have hot air in your head and I don't mean figuratively. You clowns have just air floating in your head, the fact that you can't even read a 2D drawing made for 12 years old boys is wild. Gajeel beating a calamity blood doesn't mean he's weaker, it means he got stronger

I don't think the Spriggans are in a position to pose a threat to these dragons, since the most powerful versions of Laxus and Erza will probably have a very hard time defeating them.

The fact that the CB in dragon forms can’t one shot weakened pre timeskip DSs automatically lowers their standards. And I don’t take what Anchor said seriously until he actually fights a DG.

Of course, Spriggan 12 are the absolute best and any other 100YQ enemies are trash for them... After all Irene and Brandish can solo Aldoron with bombs enchantments or toes with country level sizes :invalid

That's why I stopped debating power levels, y'all fucking annoying to promote these Fodders 12 and downplaying anyone who is critical about them... @Rigel made a good point and you are all 3 jumping in groups to say that Spriggan 12 will never be powercreeped... Don't see how they are underrated, especially because they are winning the pool vs Diabolos here.

Spriggan 12 fanboys genuinely believe that the characters from x792 basically remained at the same level of strength till the beginning of the sequel series. They believe every alive character remained same level of power both main characters and current spriggan 12. Meanwhile almost every arc albeit fucking terrible mashima has shown us that the characters do get stronger, learning new spells, improving on previous spells, fighting much trickier opponents. Jellal beating god serena is a good example. Characters don't fucking stay stagnant especially when the premise of the sequel tells us that fairy tail is back and stronger than before . Lucy and brandish being comparable in power. Wendy becoming a high enchanter. Laxus learning how to improve his red lightning and he now has king lightning

The problem isn’t that is promoting a certain group, it is where certain people just shift goal posts one other groups of bad guys just to spite another group of bad guys.

I know not many people liked the ending to the original series but letting emotions dictate a fair discussion/debate then that is not fun for anyone.

Both Laxus and Erza are below August/Irene/Dimaria and GS

In this case, I think it's simply a matter of logic.

Laxus, at the height of his illness, against an opponent immune to his main magic, still managed to defeat a Spriggan.

He is about 3 levels above or more than what was shown in Alvarez.

If he has difficulty against one of these dragons or needs help, wouldn't that be extremely solid evidence that these dragons are beyond the power level of the Spriggans?

@Darklord#10, has a point; I don't see how the Spriggans can compete in the current scenario.

Both Laxus and Erza are below August/Irene/Dimaria and GS
Why would Erza be below God Serena and Dimaria, considering she surpassed Gildarts' magical power levels in the labyrinth arc?

Gildarts was comparable to God Serena and probably slightly superior in Alvarez. Erza demonstrated being beyond that level (Magic Power) by defeating Misaki.

Dimaria is fully dependent by her hax magic; in terms of overall power, Erza is above her.

Laxus is far superior to all of them.

The closest thing to a discussion would be against Irene and August, but the rest don't compare to him.

@Rigel I believe I can answer that for Laxus.

Per his own words, the illness doesn’t affect (at least in a significant way) his ability to fight, only when he has those episodes. And Wall confirmed this despite his illness he still operates as a top FT member.

And as for being immune to his lightning spells, that doesn’t stop him from physically beating Wall either.
* And that is where Wall still scales. It is shown that Slayers with their nigh-immunity to harm from their elements they are still vulnerable to physical attacks, like Natsu, he was unharmed by his own named breath spell reflected back at him at double strength (Everlue arc), but a no name fire fist he punched himself with left a bruise (Phantom Lord Arc).

I don’t know about being below Dimaria or GS, but considering that Brandish’s magic can physically harm a DG, it shows the scaling is still relevant here and not sure how far Laxus or Erza goes currently.

The magic of Brandish and Lucy. It wasn't just her power, and I disagree that they were the main factor in the damage done to Merc, but physical damage always affected dragons, right?

As for Laxus, he had many disadvantages in that fight, his illness affecting his performance mid-fight, the enemy not being affected by his lightning magic. He was at a disadvantage against Wahl, but still won.

Honestly, I think the discussion about Laxus should only involve Irene and August; everyone else doesn't compare to him at all.

Even Irene and August might not be a problem for the current Laxus, considering how powerful he must be.

Sure Lucy was in Taurus form, however, considering that is not her strongest Spirit she is using it from, I doubt it would play any major effort used in that attack, and considering she is capable of taking hits from Merc even in her Aquarius dress doesn’t put Taurus form in that same ballpark per say.

Yes, considering that there were showings of dragons damaged by conventional weapons such as swords and spears at the end of the Dragon King Festival.

That is the key right there, mid-fight where he was having an episode that made him all but useless, but before hand while unable to harm him with lightning, would still be able to harm him with physical attacks like he did with Ogra but Wahl no sold his physical strikes. He won with Red Lightning after curing himself and was amped by the damage done to him.
  • Now this is to take into account a what if scenario, say Ichiya didn’t show up and it was Laxus that arrived against the Proxy, he would likely have won with Red Lightning, however it would give Wahl the knowledge to prepare for Laxus if they fought again for real with his adaptation.

Not saying Laxus isn’t powerful, it is a matter of taking into account where Irene and August and “maybe” Larcade are compared to Brandish’s aid against a DG.

Why would Erza be below God Serena and Dimaria, considering she surpassed Gildarts' magical power levels in the labyrinth arc?
Gildarts is still the strongest Guildmember bar Natsu. That will never change and GS is~Gildarts hence above Erza/Laxus.And August/Irene are stronger as Gildarts as per canon
Dimaria is fully dependent by her hax magic; in terms of overall power, Erza is above her.
Yes but Timestop still fuck up both
still managed to defeat a Spriggan.
Gratzs for extreme-diffing the weakest SP12 as per Hiro words
August = Irene > Larcade, Dimaria, God Serena (it’s unclear if these are in any particular order) ~ and at the bottom of the list is Wahl

When we compare the 100YQ villains with spriggans we always have to point which spriggans. Mashima is indeed avoiding powercreep, is not an absolute rule but we have to check who is under this rule. Most spriggans are garbage, the 100YQ villains who cant' surpass them are just trashier. When we talk about the basic spriggan level, will Calamity Bloods surpass them ? I guess that the answer is yes, above regular spriggan level seems to be a safe take taking into account that they are endgame villains and stronger versions of the eclipse dragons.

The real comparison is with the Gildarts, BDSK, God Serena level. Don't think the stone dragon will surpass this level for example. Not every calamity has to reach this level. In basically every group the power level of the members varies a lot, the stronger members probably will reach that level, maybe even surpass it, but couldn't say if most members or just few. The safest guess to reach or surpass that level as of now is Motherglare.

Now about August and Irene level. I have an opinion about Irene matchup with people with dragon powers, but this exact power level seems harder to reach and i wouldn't put my hand on fire for any of the calamities to reach this level even if i think that Motherglare can beat Irene via matchup.

The problem I have is with their dragon forms they had trouble trashing instantly the mages who were tired after the tournament. I think what will determine the level of power the Calamity Bloods are is if Lucy uses Mercphobia on the Stone dragon who the former is weakened as a reminder and the later is strengthened since GMG arc by Dog dude’s magic who is weaker than the DGs. Only that for me anyway will determine if they are worth anything or not or if FT still needed help or strategies for their fights with DGs so far.

It's literally was stated that her power once paled in comparison to theirs today and they literally absorbed power for 400 years.
no way people using their gmg versions (who even there were levels above the others) to downplay their current versions which are levels above, it's like using ep 1 Natsu to downplay current Natsu.

Anyway even Wed negs any of the fodder 12

Wed may had magical sword to fight August but after seeing Natsu melting it i wouldn't bet on him. Against Irene it can actually go either way, both can be trashed by their opponents attacks, seriously, Irene is vulnerable to dragon magic, but Wed dragonized scales are shit, just creates a weakness for him, to the point that even if he is stronger than Serena he probably loses because he shouldn't be strong enough to compensate the slayer and elemental disadvantage.
