Okami's Celestial Dragon Fang smashed apart the two suits of armour and again, two more leapt into battle to replace them. Tora grabbed her and she flew into the air.
'Well here goes nothing, gonna use it only once to conserve energy - Celestial Dragon's ROAR!' The destructive blue star-like flame aimed directly at the largest group of knights. Okami hoped she could take out or at least damage most of them then they'd have to take out the rest old style; with fists. The attack tore through the line, demolishing suit after suit.
'Is there a counter or something to how many are left?' okami asked the announcer. There was no reply from the announcer who was busy watching the battle on a moniter and commenting on it to the world.
'Wow folks, didja see that?! Okami's attack must have taken out a third of them!! The challenge was to stop them all and I guess destroying them all's as good a way to stop them as any!!'
Dante ran to Sniff and told him he had a plan. 'Just go along with it', he said as he strained to lift him up. Dante yelled as he launched Sniff towards the remainder of the knights.
'I didn't agree to this!' yelled Sniff as he flew through the air. His only option being to go with it, however, he landed with a crash, crushing several of the suits and used the momentum Dante had given him to charge down the line, knocking them aside with his trunk and tusks or trampling them underfoot.
At the Guild, everyone was gathered round the lacrima vision in the Courtyard and cheering on their guild mates. 'Go Okami!' yelled one Mage. 'Nice one, Dante!!' yelled another.
'I thought they were just going to the beach,' Willard said exasperatedly to Junsei.
'Ohohoho, this is more fun to watch!' the Master said gleefully.
Back on the ship, the room was a mess with crushed and broken armour and swords. The clock read 08:45. About sixty suits still remained, but none of them were attacking anymore. Seven, now, were still moving, but were merely pacing up and down. Then, one of them sheathed its sword. It reached up to its helmet, and discarded it. Underneath was the face of Gerhart the butler.
'Well well,' he said. 'I was expecting you to be a bit more subtle than that - I didn't think you'd just try and destroy them all.'
'You're controlling them?' questioned the elephant Sniff.
'Correct,' Gerhart said. 'You see, this really is a ghost room; my spirits are inhabiting those suits of armour, one by one. That's why when you destroyed one, another just took its place.'
'Seith Magic,' Sniff muttered. 'Should have guessed.'
'That's right. My family has served the Doppel family for generations. When we die we become spirit and continue to serve. My ancestors are the ones inhabiting the armour. I could let you continue to destroy and run low on Magic Power, but luckily for you this is an entertainment show - it's much better viewing if I fight you myself.' At that, the other six suits of armour all dropped down, the souls inhabiting them having left. Then Gerhart's whole suit of armour, his shield, and his sword all began to glow with a green glow. 'All six souls are inside my armour and weapons now, powering them up. If you defeat me, you'll complete this challenge. You have just over eight minutes to do so!'
With that he drew his sword once and darted towards Sniff. He was much, much faster than any of the suits of armour and Sniff, in his large and unwieldy form, couldn't react quick enough. He was slashed across the side just before he had time to change back into his human form. He stumbled and fell backwards, but fortunately Gerhart had changed targets and was now hurtling towards Dante, sword ready to strike.
