'Awesome,' Sniff said, impressed.
'Wow, the Wild Hunt team have really cut the knot here!' the announcer called out. 'They've just used Magic to unlock the door!! Unheard of! Unsportsmanlike! But technically within the rules, so they advance to the next challenge!'
Back at the Guild, everyone watching was laughing hard. 'Haha, take that!'
'Yeah, stick your stupid challenge!'
The four Mages flew along a narrow, dark corridor, but no traps came at them. Soon they were in a third challenge room, where they landed safely. Once again it required them to unlock the door. Once again, they did as they pleased and used Okami's keys.
Somewhere on the ship, in a room by herself, Gaia sat watching the scene on a monitor. 'Hmm, that Okami girl gets more interesting by the second...' she mused with a smirk.
The final door opened up into a large, stone, circular room with a high roof. Opposite them were spread four more doorways. Each was open and lead into a dark passageway that they couldn't see far down. Again, the announcer's voice rang out through the room.
'Congratulations for making it this far, I guess!' he said. 'You've completed all three challenges (technically) without losing a single one - all four of you remain! Now, you must each pick one door, proceed down it, and fight the Hero you meet at the end of it! If any of you defeats your opponent, you will have won! You have three minutes to decide which passage you each will take! Good luck!'
'Well,' Sniff said, turning to face the other three. 'Do we split up, or do we all just take the same passage?'
Back on deck, Doppel was looking over the side of the ship down into the waters below. The whirlpool was getting larger and deeper - it could now easily swallow a man if one feel in. It was not violent, however; it created only calm ripples on the water. 'Not long now,' the businessman said to himself, a kind of wild hunger in his eyes.
'Father, are you sure about this?' the concerned Michael asked him.
Doppel turned to him, walked over and clapped both hands on his shoulders. Then he leant forward and, the wild look still in his eyes, said, 'More sure than anything, my son.'
