A run of the mill day in the small town of Fairy Tail, centered around Natsu, Erza, Lucy and Happy. No other character needed. I am sure whatever location this movie is going to feature won't be expanded upon either. Just a random place made up so our heroes can punch some hype down.

how you know its not canon the first movie and this one, did hiro himself said it. I thought the first movie was canon but yeah there some inconsistencies. like Elfman and Juvia appearance in the first movie while the original big guildhall is there. if its the rundown guildhall from pre GMG, than it could easily be before GMG, but no we had the big guildhall so it has to be post GMG but why does Elfman not is his bigger version and Juvia in her hair and outfit. yeah, I dont mind if the movies are noncanon but it does make it better if it is canon. I usually dont watch anime movies unless its like Naruto and "the last"and boruto which is explicity said its canon to the manga.(athough all the naruto movies before that are noncanon so I avoided those).

This movie is really looking hype I can't lie. It looks like it's taking a lot of notes from the first movie and is going to be more dark and mature than the normal FT formula being lighthearted and forced comedy.

The thing I really loved about the first movie is that Hiro took the FT formula and gave it a more mature spin, that's what I loved so much. The ending was such a sad and mature way to end a movie, especially for FT which is very lighthearted and never takes itself seriously. The question Lucy gave Natsu about magic was such a tear jerker that I had some manly tears running down my face.

So hopefully this movie is like the first one, i'm really looking forward to it. I'm actually more hyped for this movie than the manga ATM XD

Also thank god the this movie actually has moving animation lol My big problem with the FT anime was that it looked like it had a budget of a subway sandwich and had still images moving like the igneel VS ACNO fight that looked like 2 cardboard cutouts smashing against each other.

I believe that the first film is canon and it happens during the 3 months after the GJM and just before the arc of the vilage of the sun.

After he is canon or not, it does not matter, since we learn nothing important.

On the other hand the 2nd I think has been said that it is not canon, which is a pity in be.

I thought that it would happen just after Alvarez and that of the awakening of END, natsu becomes half-dragon, half demon.

And that suddenly the antibodies of igneel no longer have too much effect and that natsu is torn between its transformation into demon and dragon.

The movie was confirmed to be non canon since in the volume 36 afterword Mashima said if another movie was made then it would also be non canon.

okay I just read my copy of volume 36 afterword and it seems you are right athough I'm not sure if he said specifically if it suppose to be outside the manga timeline. yeah its hard to determine. Strikefreedom(nice to meet a fellow Gundam Seed fan) i think the timeskip between GMG and Sun Village is a little less than 3 months. right now the alvarez arc is in September as specify by Happy after reacting to the mention of the spriggan August and considering that it been exactly 1 year since the end of Tartoros. and GMG happened in early July. due to the dates being mentioned by Future Lucy.

looks cool, a bit different from the character designs from Fairy tail 2014 but i like it nonetheless. It is possible some of those character designs will be used for Season 3 (the same way some character designs from movie 1 were used for Season 2).
