Okay, so I was wondering which mages you like the most who aren't in Fairy Tail. I really like a lot of side characters and I hope some of them will get more screen time. Here are a view of my favorite side characters.

Kagura
I think Kagura is a really strong and impressive mage. I found interest in her once she defeated Ophiuchus with ease. In my opinion, it's pretty cool that someone who only uses a sword can defeat a lot of powerful mages. Before the final round in the Grand Magic Games, I ranked her as the second strongest participant who isn't in Fairy Tail. Her battle style is really epic. I hated when Erza blocked unsealed Archenemy so easily, it kinda ruined her reputation. But still, Kagura overpowered Erza for a while. I say they are equals.

Minerva
Minerva isn't some nice side character for me. Actually, she is my all time favorite. I didn't hate her in the Grand Magic Games arc. To be honest I enjoyed her fighting strategy. Yeah, it was evil, but it was smart as well. I think she is a really powerful mage who shouldn't be underestimated. I mean, she uses Yakuma God War Magic which I think is pretty epic. Territory is a really impressive magic as well, she can do a lot with it.

Rufus
Rufus really impressed me when he took the spot at the first day of the Grand Magic Games. When I saw him using Night of Falling Stars, I didn't understand anything of his magic. But once his Memory-Make was explained, I knew Rufus is a really powerful mages. I really like this character.

Bacchus
Well, I don't think I need to say a lot about him. Everyone loves Bacchus. I like the way he is and I really ship him with Cana. I just think he is cool.

This are mine. I hope all of them get more attention in the manga or anime.

^Nice list. Minerva is quite a good selection. I really didn't like her in GMG at all but now that she's come good I do like her. And she's cute too.

Outside of FT... I'm not going to pick characters introduced this arc. I'll pick 4 too.

Ichiya - he's a permanent top 5 character for me. Steals scenes/panels better than anyone. Great comic relief character. Is in contention for MVP this arc imo with his courageous display shielding the guild.

Jellal - Guaranteed a top 10 spot in FT for me. If he had kissed Erza back before the GMG I would definitely have him permanent top 3. Like his magic, design... don't like how he can get gloomy though. Happy to see him be assertive when he was re-introduced recently.

Meredy - She's got a bubbly personality, and of course she's a real beauty. I should have Ultear over Meredy but I think Meredy will be more involved from here.

Acnologia - Now I never really consider him at all for favourite characters, because the guy/dragon has but a few lines in the manga. That said he's pretty awesome, has the 2 best finishers I've seen in FT to his name, has a whole empire planning stuff so they might beat him, and apart from wanting destruction/wipe out dragons he's basically an enigma; so overall he's interesting. A backstory for him is welcomed.

Well as for Kagura there is an explanation why she gets weaker when she unsealed her blade. We have few time told that one of the things that determine mage magic is the heart of a mage.Kagura has pure hate for Jellal also Archenemy is magical sword so it responds to Kagura heart going by this way unsealed Archenemy will get Kagura weaker when she faces someone other than Jellal.( personal opinion )

And my list of favourite character in FT will be :

1.Meldy : I like her from the moment when she got introduced ( robotic talk :P). it's one of the most underrated characters in my opinion it's one of the people that lost the most in whole FT story from characters we know ( All family and city , Later she finds that the persons she thinks as her mother have taken all from her in the past but she forgives her ( i think thanks to Meldy sensory link she was able to see that Ultear really regrets her action) and finally she lost Ultear that was with her for over 10 years ( half or more Meldy life ).Now on current events i sometimes hate how Hiro makes Meldy useless in GmG and vs OS she either didn't have her time to shine considering that at years 11/12 she face Juvia at swamps in Tenrou ( Juvia was getting power from Tenrou tree ) add to that 7 years of training under Ultear + Second Origin (Ultear said after time skip that she improve her Arc of time and she's able to unlock fairy tail second origin) so she's should be monster right now :P but it's good to if Hiro uses her magic she could kill most enemies right now with sensory link.


2.Kagura :Mostly for the same reasons as BluePegasus mention. 3.Laxus: He first impressions for me was " what an asshole" but while the series go on he was getting more and more of my sympathy.And in GmG when he went "picollo" to save Wendy from the dragon he really went up in my ranking.Strong and ambitious also despite he's so strong after he failed to protect someone he gets irritated by "weakness" in my opinion next GM

That's all I think on fourth place with draw: Natsu,Midnight,Mira on 5th rest of cast :P

That's what I find cool about Kagura. Once the Grand Magic Games started, I thaught Mermaid Heel would be really weak. When Kagura was about to fight Yukino I thaught Yukino was going to win because she is from Sabertooth. It was a big surprise once I saw how strong she is.

Which side character(s) do you like the most and why do like him/her

Mine are
Ultear: Used to be a very fiend woman. Had manipulated a lot of people. Jellal, Lyon and co, Magic Council, Precht, Gray. For the sake of her ultimate objective: Zeref, Grand Magic World, and rewinding the time to moment before she hated her own mother. Her story is about sins and atonement.

Meredy: At the first sight I found this girl very determined. Never had there been any hesitation in her heart. And her being a beautiful woman after 7 years timeskip just simply makes me more in love with her.

Kagura: I am in love with her personality. On one hand she is cool, calm, collected, vindictive, and vengeful. But on the other hand she is actually just an innocent imouto. She just wants to love and be loved by her older brother, live happily with him. But when she figured out that Simon has died, she wants Erza to be her nee-san. Said so with blushed face. Cute.

Maybe Ichiya and Richard too. Indeed Ichiya can be so annoying at certain moments haha, but he actually cares for his comrades and especially Fairy Tail. His recent heroic action was amazing. As for Richard, I find him warm and kind person. I like his friendship with Jura. I hope they can meet again in the future

I would say my top 5 not in order for males are Gray,Gajeel,Jellal,Acnologia and Azuma. For females my list would be Erza,Kagura,Juvia,Brandish and Ultear. I was tempted to put Dimaria in but we see so much more of Ultear And Brandish so I went with them instead.

I am amazed that nobody has Zeref in his favorites. I dropped Fairy Tail a few years ago. But in my free time I got interested in Zeref's story. It's poignant and sad enough that I am unable to ignore. Now I am going to read FT just to see the way the story-line related to him goes.

Maybe its because people always viewed him as the most OP character xD (I have seen people like that) but when it was said that Acnologia > Zeref, fewer had him in their lists :P
