I know I am replying a 6 year old like message but, yeah, Journey to the West Zheng Jian He version was quite cool. There were also characters resembling the ones in Feng Shen Ji.
The real deal is, Feng Shen Ji has a Hei Long-oriented prequel, and also some other spinoff series by Zheng Jian He. Nevertheless, I could not find the english translations, nor even Chinese scans. The following is the link to the Zheng Jian He's works:
I just can't Chinese my way out of all these manhuas. Once, I have seen a reddit forum providing all these direct links regarding Feng Shen Ji-related works of the author. I will update this when I find that.

Ok I found the prequel, it is not even in Chinese, but Vietnamese:
I was able to find the Chinese raws for the prequel spin-off about Tian-Hei Long at multiple Chinese-based websites such as setnmh.com.
Still, no English translation available.
I looked through the prequel and it follows a different narrative about the ancient gods than what was told in FSJ, while at the same time providing more detail on the origin of the gods and Tian's power level in comparison to the other gods (most notably Pangu, who was featured in FSJ as the former king of gods) towards the end. With the last part, the gap is massive and further gives credence to the main storyline narrative that Tian stands at the zenith in power and existence.
I've managed to do my own translating of a few pages using AI, such as the several pages in the first chapter explaining how life and the gods came into being on Earth as well as Tian's measured power level that is connected to the very thing that brought life to the planet. I will attach it to this post for those interested in taking a look at them behind the spoiler tag.
And here is the bit about concerning Tian's power level, post-enlightment in this spin-off:
I will also like to add that Pangu is depicted as being much more powerful than how his incarnation Shen Yen was in FSJ, and to the extent of taking on both Huang Long and Chi Long combined. Still, it's only a small fraction of what Tian (Hei Long) has post-enlightment, which aligns well with how he narrated to be towards the end of part 3 FSJ.
And, also, Tian does have the power to destroy the world, as in reverting it back to the barren wasteland it was hundreds of millions of years ago pre-life, as he was about to do here:
