Hanyabal made it in group 17 of the prelims and won out over Cabaji, as well as Sanjuan Wolf. The latter probably had the disadvantage of being in Blackbeards crew, not like we saw much of him other than his size though.

As for this fight, Hanyabal is leading ID now, but that's more due to luck on his part or Magellans misfortune, doesn't matter much. Beating Buggy and Galdino in an offscreen fight - together with lots of guards - would do more, if it wasn't for his opponent being one of Whitebeards best men. Good for him this isn't a jailbreak, or else he'd lose his position again

If you think about it, offpaneling someone like Buggy, who is stronger than Killer is no easy feat.

As for whether Marco could beat BB, that's a matter for a different discussion.

Unoftunately for Hannybal, he just got a wrong opponent.
Marco takes this quite comfortably. He is too strong and his DF and Haki usage would overpower Hannybal quickly.

Does Hannybal have access to sea stone cuffs? Or for that matter, does anyone in this tournament? I'm pretty sure that with out sea stone, only Blackbeard can defeat Marco, since he can heal his wounds even if they are inflicted by Haki.

We don't know enough about Marco's fruit. Maybe the healing is slower when he's low on stamina. Whatever the case, Marco can be beaten, even if his enemy has to exhaust him enough to not be able to fight any more.

That's true, but no one in the war was able to push Marco to his limits, I think Oda was just covering his bases in case he ever needs to kill off Marco for plot purposes. If his regeneration can last through a huge battle with multiple opponents, I can't see him losing in a one on one fight against anyone who can't actually take his powers away, just doing damage to his actual body via Haki or sea stone weapons isn't enough since he can heal those injuries as well.

Well I think Marco would be a goner if someone were to cut his body in half, like Zoro did to Monet. Or even his head only.

We only saw minor injuries in the battle. Well, minor for someone like him.

Is it so simple? Marco's flame isn't a normal flame, so I'm not sure if it can extinguished by normal means.

after seen croc take quite the beating against luffy with bloodhands, jeah i think it can be kinda easy ^^

Marco's ability is "magical" compared to Croc's which has fonudations in physics (stretched out but nevermind). Since Marco's flames can't burn anything, why would you think they would have the same weakness as normal flames?

Of course, throwing him into the water would harm him just as any other DF user.

But yeah, I'm sure his body cannot renegerate from severe injuries, such as beheading and being cut into pieces.
