Discussion Game of Thrones / One piece

Hello One Piece fans,

So I started to watch Game of Thrones this year and it's amazing. I already watched it to the end and i'm dying of waiting to see the new season next year.
While i read the Dressrosa arc and the post-dressrosa chapters, i Kind of got the Feeling of Game of Thrones.

in Game of Thrones, everybody or the most of them wants to be on the Throne.
in One Piece, everybody wants to become Pirate King or wants to find the One Piece, big treasure, or just something big i don't know.

there are like several Groups or Familys, who wants to achieve the same Goal and there are lots of lies, schemes, ambush, betrayals etc.
there is luffy and his Crew/Grand fleet
there is kid-alliance
DD and his Family was in the game too
blackbeard Crew
big mom Crew
kaidou Crew
Buggy
revolutionary army
etc. etc etc. and i Kind of get the Feeling, they're Kind of like Houses in game of thrones.

even Doflamingo claims that all the big players will clash in a great war, like the war of 5 kings in game of thrones.

do u guys see any similarities between one Piece and game of thrones?
do u think oda read the book or watched the tv-show?
do u think, he inteded it on porpuse to go on this road?

Yeah apparently Oda started watching GoT too.

Soon he'll start killing all of our favorite characters.

omg that would be too shocking. maybe burgess being in the RA-Base means, Oda wants to kill of Sabo or some RA-members!
imagine Oda going to kill off some important characters...! Ace was already very shocking.

I really really doubt that Oda will start killing off his characters, it was mostly a joke
But regarding the RA it would be redundant if Sabo got killed...and I think Ace's death was more for plot purposes. It supposedly should have motivated Luffy to grow stronger, as for Sabo he's pretty much immune to death, again because of the plot.
He already "died" once and now he's inherited Ace's will, so I don't think he'll die again.
It might not be him, but let's say Dragon instead.And in regards of deaths in general, maybe we could see the SHs be in danger, starting from Sanji actually.
If it's true that at Wano there's going to be a really though event for the SHs it could be one of them getting caught or leaving, similar to how Usopp left in Water 7.And right now I think Sanji is the most plausible candidate.

One piece has a clear main character/team.. game of thrones has all the apparent main characters killed. So nope. They're both awesome series but completely different.

Also, not all of the factions in One Piece are after the same thing. Pirates want One Piece/To be King, Marines want to kill all pirates/protect people (debatable for some Marines), World Government wants to conceal history/control the world (note that this is different from the Marines since they are willing to use pirates to achieve their goals), Fishmen want to to join the WG/Live in peace, and the Average Citizens/Random Kingdoms have varying goals but for the most part seem to just want to live in peace with out any of the drama caused by pirates, marines, and the WG.

^Dragon is the 1st victim of this "Throne War". His function is to let us know his df abilities (high probability) then later Oda shows us someone (Shiryu) in the BB uses these df abilities fighting one of the SH (Zoro, the gap between BB and other members is big due to dual df).

If I remember correctly, all the old timers from GoT dropped dead one after another so that an entire new generation will play with fire & ice.

Would be ironic if Dragon had a somewhat "icy" power, and Sabo is fire incarnated.
But in all serioussness I doubt Dragon will die, maybe this is Oda's opportunity to show us how strong Dragon is. I expect him to win, if not he could lose and get captured, and this could be the trigger to another war.

It doesn't matter, Kaido will pull the trigger independently since he wants war with everyone. From my point of view, Dragon's df is much more useful than DD's weapons, BB himself is already a WMD, adding an extra powerful fighter in his group will increase the probability taking down another yonko (Shanks), this helps him moving closer to the throne.

Besides, it feels right when Sabo closes down WG and becomes a new kind ruler since he has it in him due to his not so normal background. BTW, does Koala have some kind of curse in her? First Fisher Tiger died for helping her, now Dragon will probably be facing something similar for employing her.

Nope,Kaido won't accomplish anything, he'll go down before he succeeds in waging war against the WG. He's lost DD, so unless Jack succeeds which I find unlikely, DD shouldn't be out too quickly, and he still hasn't finished preparations either. The SHs could face Jack soon, on Zou most likely, and this will trigger the fight with Kaido.
I doubt it will be one of the Yonko who will trigger the final war, to me it should be the SHs and their allies at the center of it.Plus if Dragon gets captured it will warrant the involvment of the RA.Either way I don't see these events happening till much later.

This is not really on topic though, but yeah pretty much, the manga won't end so soon.
No need to rush it either since it's still pretty good, now if it became intolerably bad then maybe Oda would be in a hurry to finish it...
But similar to how the effects of Ace losing against BB were only seen much later, it could be the same with Dragon.
