Just when I thought we would get to see WB & co's entrance to the war...dammit and I completely forgot about those stupid "Retrospective Before Marineford" episodes. This is torture for me.

Apparently there's a new OP opening for the Marineford arc which will begin on July 18. If it's been posted already then please excuse and ignore.

Another new opening? I remember back when the series literally stuck to an opening for an entire arc.
I thought that they would be using the opening for the entire Marineford war, considering how the majority of the opening's spoilers are upcoming scenes in the anime.

We'll get more info with the WSJ this week I think; about the new opening. We've had this current opening since ep.426 so that's 30+ episodes. I just hope the animations are sharp.

well the last opening wasn't really received well in the net-community as well as in Japan as it seems, so it's only logical to do a new opening before such a crucial part of the story. I hope they didn't mess it up too much and will hopefully keep the spoilers to a minimum - yes we know what happens in the manga, but still, that doesn't count for everyone and also still disappoints me because I like to see those specifc scenes in anime, as opposed to the opening >.<

Yeah that's quite true. We haven't really had a really good opening since Brand New World imo, everything since then has been kinda hit or miss. I really hope that they don't really Whitebeard's or anyone else's powers. We've been also getting a few spoilers images during Impel Down showing his crew and all, understandable that you have to stretch content in the anime but I really wanted to be surprised as I was when reading the manga and seeing Akainu's face for the first time and the Whitebeard Pirate commanders.

With that said, Impel Down wasn't all that great animation-wise, it had a lot of episodes that were excellent and the rest were just mediocre. I really do hope they don't spare a penny and BRING BACK INOUE!!! We haven't had him since 377 and that was one of my favourite episodes, though we've got a lot of excellent animation supervisors.

I kinda hope that the new opening is going to show animated versions of some recent colorspreads again that don't afford to add the newer crewmembers. It's always been one of the positive aspects since ... was it Bon Voyage when they started to adapt them?

No Believe had colourspread 142 in it, since then most of the opening have had it, with the latest one including at least 5 I think.

for those that haven't
the lyrics are amazing and I am so darn hype, toei is going to make an awesome opening 13, since the last one was so badly received.

I can't wait, I think they'll have the scene where all the 3 admirals show off their powers and luffy trying to fight them.
Oh god, this war is going to epic!

For people who haven't read the manga, I hope they choose what spoilers to put in carefully. I remember when I was watching the Water 7 arc before I read the manga, and it had Usopp and Luffy fighting in the opening, so then spent the next episodes (ok, so it was a marathon) going wtf? Those kind of things are far better left as a shock.

They need to not lay it on too thick, so

The opening's love spoiling a lot of things, and might ruin the surprise of those moments ( a lot of anime openings tend to that but never with

any character death

, or the complete opposite like intend a fight happens when doesnt happen in the manga)

but it would so inappropriate for them show those things , but i doubt they will do so

I'm excited for this new opening, I kinda liked every opening, till now but this last was really great, I just hope the don't screw it up!

According to the words of the people in 2CH, the Lyrics of the new opening song were decided after a careful selection among thousands of keywords and sentences, which "can fill a whole university notebook"! (「1 冊の大学ノートにキーワードや歌詞がぎっしりで歌詞考えたらしい。」) It may be an exaggeration, though.

In the lyrics, there had been supposed to be a sentence saying that "Your Smiling Face Emerged in the Sky, and That Kind of Future Will Come True from Now On" (「空に君の笑顔浮かべて、そんな未来を今から叶えていこう」) at first. However, these words were modified into "You Should Go on Facing It No Matter How Many Times, For You Don’t Want Precious Things Lost"(「何度も立ち向かい続けよう、大切なもの失いたくないから」) later on.

Because the Marineford Arc is far different from others and it’s full of serious scenes, said one of the One Piece anime stuff, the new opening song will not be vivacious with the theme "dream" and "adventure" like those opening songs before – "protecting what is precious" will be the theme of One Day.

People in 2CH also said that the release date of One Day is delayed for it’s selected to be the new opening song of One Piece anime, and the lyrics might be spoilers in a sense if it were released too early.

yea, b ut at least it was a bit better than last week. i cant help but to think that oda and toei work closely, so im sure he gives them future storylines. after next week we are getting another break. i think oda requested toei to do this so that he could show all the strawhats in the manga before the great battle takes place in the anime.

So next week is actually quite a big chapter when where they anounce things about ace and we see the marines and the world in the set up. So new opening next week?
