I am so happy for a new opening! The song is good, seemed a little slow for an OP opening though, but I liked it loads better than the previous remix. Happy to see characters and scenes I didn't expect would be animated as of yet, and most happy over finally seeing my favorite character as a part of the crew! Hope this one stays around for a while.

Not a fan of the song at all but the video was just awesome with the Supernovae, Kizaru, the Kuma fight, and ID.

@new opening: well, good to know they didn't forget about Senoumaru ;P the rest was more or less bound to be in there, except perhaps ID (pretty much ID tbh, none of thehigher ups or ye old enemy, but still...) and Amazon Lily (which no one mentioned... wth?).
as for the music, it actually fits better than I thought especially near the end, but compared to all the other songs it's still kinda low.

here is a HD version (it has some bug sound so)
well it seems they only kept the electro part of the song, well they didn't have much choice since it is the only suitable part
For the anime part it's not too bad, I like especially the Luffy Hancock face to face and Luffy reaching Ace at the end
otherwise, I wonder why they have put the SH description in english and where it comes from

Concerning the episode, that is one I wish they stop following the 1 chapter/1 episode tempo

Streaming is fast, but the down turn is low quality both movie & sound . There's torrent for sd here, but still waiting for real HD (waiting for other people work, pathetic ). By large new opening performed by a boy band eng... well actually expecting something more macho . There's appearance of all Supernova & Shichibukai, but didn't anyone notice it's first time since this series is running I didn't see Shanks & his crews make a glimpse in the opening (Am I wrong?). The appearance of Hancock, I think is better if she more up, close & personal to Luffy. Luffy clothes for Impel Down in anime is green, while in manga according to cover vol 53 is light blue (both didn't go perfectly with frills ). Inside the episode I sense there's little bit skipping such how Nami decide what to do outside the human shop, Sanji little wish to buy Fascia (getting kicked), The act of Lacueva suicide (bitting his own tongue) as might be too nasty for kids . May be toei had little rush on something

Zoro frighten the wierd dude with just his eyes. (killer intent)
I like that. I call it killer intent because Haki is everytime bla bla bla. But it doesnt seems surprising for Zoro that he use this he knows about it and do it on purpose. Funny how he opens his right eye and the dude closes his right eye, backing up and then drops his sword. The other guys are almost the same its so awesome.
Reyleigh would say ohhh so cuteeee. If he would do this they all lay unconciousness on the grass right nowHAHAHAHAHA

Dammit i watched the scene again and again and its so cool!!! I love when SHs get new powers. Awaiting the subs. The other stuff was good

Watch the part of the opening with Robin's montage closely. In the background, Luffy is fishing off of the side of the ship and falls in haha.

There's some other funny stuff in the background too if you pay attention.

But still it's so awesome. Definitely one of the best openings animation-wise. And although the song sucks it does fit in quite well in some weird way beyond my understanding.

Definitely one of the worst openings. I don't like the song. It does not fell "One Piece"-like or so. And on top of that: This opening is one big long spoiler, that's a no go, IMO.

And did Oda approve Zorro's use of haki? It's not in the Manga.

i think the same way as organizized. the song for itself isn't that great. but the opening is just awesome. i love it! and the song somehow fits in.

I have the same reaction to the opening as most of you do; the song is horrible and doesn't feel like OP at all but the animation is great!!!; some may feel like there's too many spoilers but heh!! at least we know that they're gonna use this opening til the begining of the Impel Down Arc, then they'll probably have another one with Magellan and other ID staff...

the episode itself was good, though i was shocked to see Zoro using haki...that wasn't in the manga?!!! what in hell are they thinking? Disco's english is so accurate it's funny the way he says beri, just like in english lol

Well, nothing guarantee that Zoro used haki in this episode.
It's the same thing he and Luffy do to Usopp when they met him for the first time.

that and usually haki has a certain soundeffect so that we know when it's used, even so it's still a weird sound for me

I think it was intended to be haki, I just can't see why they'd put something so confusingly similar in. I can't conclude that Zoro possesses the king's haki off of foreshadowing from only the anime certainly, but I know another first mate who has it. It could just be a mistake, but I dunno.

Next week's episode is the one I've been waiting for since they left TB. Things are finally going to take off. I'm praying right along with you Akainu.

I agree with you completelly! Somehow the song fits very well in the opening, anyway the anime is making 10 years, so problably there is a reason for using this song.

BTW, Luffy surfing LOL, thought he make some nice moves!
Another thing, the Blue Gorillas, if they have a color: blue in their name this means that they are blue not white. Thought they are pretty good white!

Edit: Hancock is soooo~~~~~ beautiful!

PS: I don't think that was haki at all, as Akainu said, they didn't use the usual sound affect that characterize haki.

They didn't fall down foaming at the mouth, they were just intimidated. They were probably expecting him to be nervous and scared at being surrounded and yet he was completely fearless.

it's wonderful! Thanks for showing the youtube link! That Hancock and Luffy thing was powerful, along with Luffy at ID, fighting, then reaching out for something!

I have a question though, was that opening a little long? Does this mean the episodes will be shorter in length? T_T

IDk I think the last opening was the longest - It was like the length of 2 songs! Actually i think it was two songs! Throw in a little Gol D in there and you've got like a 3-5min opening.

I really liked this one as its very modern and its rewarding to all the manga fans. Instead of shadowing out most of the upcoming characters, it embraced it and it was pretty clear where it was going. I liked seeing the animated gaoler fight.

Well, nothing guarantee that Zoro used haki in this episode.
It's the same thing he and Luffy do to Usopp when they met him for the first time.

I agree, there is no garantee and it is only shown in the anime, not in the manga.

But Ussup was a totally different thing: Luffy said he would kill Ussop, who never faces a real pirate.

The sound is similar enough to me and for people who support the different-types-of-haki theory explainable.

And btw. It was also a different sound effect in the 4th episode when Shanks scared the monster away. (too far in the past -> bad example, i know)

They should be used to fearless pirates on shabondy and they surrounded him for quite some time without being suprised by Zorro's calmness.
And foaming is not necessary. The burst was just not strong enough to make them faint or foam, see some Kuja pirates and Mr.2


But as i said: anime-only. I just wonder what they where thinking and if Oda permitted it.
