Yes it was haki (Panel 3) .

As expected the official subs were made for an audience who are not familiar with the Japanese language. They sure suck, IMO. Fansubs FTW! xD

Was the sfx there? that's what I actually would care more about than hints in the manga - strangely and in this case only, because it was never stated in the manga.

i was gonna say something myself because that is definitely what it looked like. the eye thing was almost just like when rayleigh did it in the auction house. maybe that's why he can hurt luffy and make him bleed.

I was looking for that too; to see whether they would animate it as they did with Rayleigh's haki at the auction house. I think it was done pretty similarly, need to go watch it again...

Yeah, the anime is much more obvious when haki is used, both how they animate it and the sound effect, and of course the look in the eyes of the user which is pretty much the only certain indication in the manga. I remember a fair bit of discussion back when haki was properly introduced (Amazon Lily arc) about whether or not Sentoumaru's "perfect defense" used haki. Once again the anime clarifies what's not so clear in the manga.

This episode really wasn't as good as the last one (Scratchman Apoo), but at least we know the Straw Hats other than the main 3 are not useless. This arc should very well end soon in 2-3 episodes.

You just now got that confirmed? Jeez, did you jump into the story recently?

I'm a bit disappointed in this chapter as well, though. Much of the fighting was poorly animated. Even though Brooke's attack was a bit of an anticlimax in the manga as well, it gave a somewhat powerful effect. In the anime it didn't seem as it could pierce through the ground, even. Also, Nami's attack was easily one of the most powerful in this fight, and the manga really showed that with a big shot where the lightning pierces through Kumabot, while in the anime you can't even see it hit him. That was all a big meh to me.

Yes the sound was definitely there. Though not as clear Ray's, as he opened the collar.

Nice epi, really like.
Thought the fight between SH vs PX-4 I though that lack emotion, the manga seems so much faster, but at least the fight encounter of PX-1, Sentoumaru and Kizaru with the SH was pretty well done.

PS: Sentoumaru was funny with that thing that he have the tightest mouth in the world.

I don't think the anime would build their audio sounds that far ahead, but I could be wrong as well. Also I watched a bad quali stream.. so not sure, if it was the same sfx or not. Well I will better watch a HD version until I give a final answer ^^


Well after watching HD, I think it is the same sfx. Now thinking straight, I don't think they would give different sounds to each haki.

just saw the raw, I don't understand japanese but it seems to me that, with the fight of Law and Kid against the pacifista, we have one of the first spoiler ever in the anime wrt the manga ... Until yet we only add more detailed scene, now it seems like complete new information. Well I have to wait for the subtitled version
The entrance of Rayleigh is also nice. I don't know if he is running or flying :-)

I don't think that it reveals too much since practically nothing is won yet.
On the other hand there was no hakisfx in the scene where Ray-san blocks Kizaru, but there seems to be something on the sole of his shoes.

The episode itself feels dragged, the drawing seems to be off and on top of that - something I already noticed one or two weeks ago - Kidd is able to stop the beam with his metal? wth? it's the same beam that melted iron/steal on TB!
