Two things:

1. The ONLY time Haki has been animated thus far, and shown with the special animation, is when it was used to knock out surrounding characters, which is obviously ONE PARTICULAR haki skill/technique. Haki can obviously be used in different ways, as seen in the manga in the upcoming woman island arc. Only time will tell, but I suspect they don't use the same sort of animation for EVERY usage of haki, only to emphasize the one technique that's been showed thus far. Rayleigh using Haki to stop Kizaru would be a different usage of haki, and thus wouldn't use the same animation.

2. I'd bet my life that Oda worked with Toei to put in stuff that was excluded in the manga, the Kidd/Law fight specifically. So for all intents and purposes, I'm sure the story shown there will prove to be true to the story and as good as canon. Oda probably excluded it from the manga for pacing reasons.

Anyone disagree?

Not really. From what we've seen so far, it seems that animators cooperate really well with Oda. Just look at the difference between One Piece and Naruto. In One Piece there are minimal fillers and they never impact the main story, just reinforce it.
So I don't think that the animators just added Kid and Law fillers on their own.

But this epsiode was too SICK! I think my jaw dropped when I saw Rayleigh flying towards Kizaru.

I disagree on the 2nd point. IMO the anime messed it up a bit.

haki in anime always had sound since introduction. period.
again, I'm not saying it wasn't just that NOTHING indicates it. WHY shouldn't the first mate of the pirateking have some power besides haki?

About what's under his shoes, yes, that's probably true.
About your last question, the answer is simple : because it's logical and in line with what we've seen till now about that power.

It's either haki or devil fruit. I'd lean more to haki, but that's just because we know that he can use it, and there's no indication that he has a devil fruit. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't have it.

Also, I think it would be pretty messed up if everything related to haki had a specific sound. Maybe shocking everyone with an aura makes a sound, but using haki induced blow doesn't.
I don't think there is a sound rule. There was no sound when Shanks displayed it, so I don't think that a lack of specific sound is enough to conclude that there's no haki involved.

What is interesting is that on the anime, it shows that Rayleigh prevent Ki Zaru from going to the Usopp/Brook/Zoro group by cutting the light itself.
It means he stopped the continuity of the sunbeam that was transporting Ki Zaru and that suddenly stop the transportation of Ki Zaru.
I think that Rayleigh's technic is the total mastery of the breath technic for a swordman : Zoro is able to cut steel thanks to that but Rayleigh is able to cut light itself. That is the difference of power between them.

I just found out that there are going to be only 2 filler episodes. It's not cover story, but I guess it's better than some alternative timeline events with same characters in same roles, or whatever that last filler in Bleach was...

I've been reading a few posts and think Rayleigh was able to stop Kizaru because he's a dark man. Or something along those lines, it wouldn't surprise me if the author pinned the only person who was on the island and able to stand a chance against the admiral. Granted i don't feel like looking through the manga to find the page where it calls him Dark King Rayleigh, but by coincidence the latest episode was about that exact battle. I'm thinking that's just his devil fruit power and not a haki.

well I think just the haki burst that knock out everyone has a specific sound, other wise a batle like the one with gorgon sisters would be really annoying, with all those sounds, and approaches to the eyes, it would really suck, I mean theyre allways using haki, and if does arrows also make that sound I would go crazy that sound is really annoying.....

light can be redirected, reduced and deflect. i think it wasnt cut, it was just discontinued. as kizaru's skill rely on the continuity of his linear light. notice that rayleigh didnt attack the light right away, it may be because he waited til kizaru started to move in his light path and discountinued that path that blocked kizaru's movement.

as with other's attacking kizaru. i think as same with other, kizaru has weakpoint, as rayleigh both used a weapon and his own body against kizaru. and im not so sure that when he concentrate the light as it looks yellow it becomes solid... not sure, brooke and usop didn't atack kizaru yellow foot. or rayleigh just have a fruit that do cancel his.

oh my gawd *sobbing in tears* that was about the most moving episode ever since it reviewed most of the other emotional moments in the last like 3 miutes was it? and that all with a slow and sad version of binks sake in the background ant totally the right moment for a special episodes break. The bubbles though a bit weird at first were good for enforcing that mood of Luffys nakama vanishing one by one, what I thought was unnecessary on the other hand was that inverted colours thing... they did it with Zoro in pain and now too, but what for?

WOW, I was so moved by this episode; especially when Luffy was crying after Robin was gone, banging his head against the floor. The flashback scene was awesome, they bgm and all brought it together.
